Good location but definitely not a 5 star hotel (please be warned). Customer service is horrible! I asked for a breakfast box which they confirmed would be ready for my departure. Upon checkout the gentleman at the reception said I asked for a wake up call (which I did not even discuss with them the time I am leaving or ask for). He did not even apologize. As an avid traveler who has stayed in many of hotels this was one of the most disappointing. I highly recommend staying elsewhere!

The hotel itself is beautiful. The service, let’s say I was way better served at 3 stars hotels. It’s a shame! From the beginning they were not very friendly. Our requests kept being denied (some understandably) but with any type of “I’m sorry but..” My husband needed to work and wifi was terrible, which made him miss a couple of bing important meetings. Went to breakfast at 7:30, when they’re supposed to open, it was still closed. At 7:35 I open the door and got in, there was no one at the main room, so I went further, to the buffet room… they were still setting up. I said good morning, asked them if it was open, they were very rude, didn’t even say hi, and said only “yes” 🙄 like I was dumb. Very sad, that such a beautiful hotel has such bad service. Also, our room had a really weird and bad smell. 😫 When we checked in they said that coffee in the room was free, when we get there, they charge 2€ per capsule! 🤯 Hope you review your service.

I stayed at the NAU Palacio for a long week-end and I was extremely disappointed with the service. I arrived at the hotel and needed to work from my room for a few hours. I tried to order room service but no one was answering the phone (this happened on 2 separate days). When arriving at the restaurant which was empty (no guests), there were 4 staff members gathered around the bar counter just chit chatting away. When room service came to clean my room, I was on a conference call. I asked if they could come back later, they said yes and never came. Towards the end of the day I crossed paths with a cleaning lady and asked if she could come clean, she said yes but never showed up. This is not the level of service I expect in a 5 star hotel. The location is far from the city but the facilities are very nice (indoor pool and hammam were convenient given the bad weather outside). The food I had for dinner was exceptional - my compliments to the chef. That said, the breakfast buffet is lacking in "cohesion" (for lack of better word). Pancakes are on the menu but there is no syrup, no nutella. Plain yogourt, no honey. Oatmeal, no brown sugar or syrup. Just small details. Finally, the staff called us post trip to charge us for an extra night when we had already checked out and cleared the invoice (extra night included on bill already). Unfortunately, I would not recommend the hotel.

Let me set the record straight before I write this review - I spent 7 total years in Portugal. I speak Portuguese as a linguist and I know the country well. I loved this hotel. It is a five star luxury hotel with a superb spa and services. It is clean, well appointed, and staffed by a crew of extremely friendly people who made us feel at home. After 10 days I had to return and my wife stayed to take care of a sick family member for another week and they went out of their way to take care of her. I ate breakfast at the hotel (worth the money) but ate out locally for other meals (you are in Lisbon...) The hotel is built on an old ruins across the street from the Torre de Belem. Pictures to follow.

This is a luxury hotel that actually feels luxurious. The facilities are a thoughtful and respectful renovation over an old Roman site; excavations are dramatically incorporated into the building. The buffet breakfast was elegantly done. The staff were kind and courteous. The room was large by European standards and very well appointed.

I can't properly rate this hotel because I have not stayed there. I have only visited in order to attend their Ânfora Restaurant which is open to the public. However, if one needs a hotel in a relatively quiet Lisbon suburb, this looks well worth checking out. Nicely designed and furnished inside the old Palace, it has full facilities including spa and gym as well as internal and external pools.

Really bad experience on this Hotel, someone from the staff went to my luggage inside my room and stole some belongings, sadly it was something I cannot report to the police… The Hotel did not provide any solution or even apologize. Also on the day of check out they woke us up at 09:00 AM trying to open the door over and over again, knowing that we were check out that morning… staff doesn’t seem professional. Never again….

Really need to stay here to appreciate what it's like to stay in a 5 star museum. Service was excellent, room amenities were excellent, spa was relaxing, and the breakfast was very well served. This hotel is across from the Torre de Belem and would serve as a great base for visiting Lisbon.

I really liked this hotel. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was split (toilet one room, shower one room and sink was somehow outside which I found a good thing if someone wants to shower and someone to use the toilet) The breakfast was tasty, quite varied. It felt like quality matters. The hotel has FREE PARKING

It was good because of some of the staff. Mainly it was a major disappointment and we would certainly not rate this hotel as 5*. On a very short menu in the restaurant there were items missing 😕. To be honest we found the room configuration very strange with no wash hand basin in the toilet. Walking out around the shower to the bedroom was the strangest ever for a wash hand basin. The lighting was dreadful with no bright light for putting on make-up or shaving. Finally we found the breakfast offering extremely poor for a 5* hotel.

Unfortunately not recommendable at all! The staff stole money out of my room that was hidden in my personal belongings. When i talked to the reception they had no real interest in finding a solution, even though we were staying with a group of around 50 people for 3 nights. From a 5 Star hotel i would expect a solution oriented approach and not just a simple "sorry we cant help you"

Impeccable service, incredible spa (pool, sauna, relaxation rooms- free for guests) great food and drinks. Area was perfect, not so busy/touristy, but still close enough to everything.

Room is small, but we'll appointed and functional. The view of Belem Tower from the 2nd floor was beautiful. Good breakfast, friendly staff

This hotel was the best. The staff were friendly and very accomodating. The rooms were surprisingly spacious and the double shower heads were amazing! We were walking distance from the Belem tower, the Naval museum, and Jeronimo monestary, and not too far from the train station where you can go to downtown Lisbon, Cascais, or Sintra for only 2 euros. The breakfast buffet, which was included, had the most impressive selection I've seen in a hotel. The indoor pool/spa was also included but you need to bring a swim cap or you'll have to buy one there for 5 euros each. There are lots of restaurants in the area and Uber eats delivers to the hotel if you decide to stay in. There are lots of cozy sitting areas and they have several spaces for business meetings. I could not recommend this hotel more highly!

The first night spent there was a problem with the ceiling outside the room, water was coming out of it, they fixed it by the end of the night. One of the people we came with, their room had a bad smell coming from the shower and they didn’t get it fixed until the last night we were there. Other than that the time was good. They have nice drinks and food at the bar and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Overall the staff was very kind and generous.

My family and I were blown away by the atmosphere and the service. Upon check in we received a tour of the hotel and the history of the building. The servers were excellent and our every need was attended to immediately. My daughter wasn't feeling well and the kitchen made her some chicken soup off menu. We ate in the restuarant and oh my goodness! It was I think the best supper I have ever had. I don't think I can put into words how wonderful this hotel is. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the Palácio do Governador.

The hotel is right across the street from Belem Tower and majority of the attractions in Belem are just walking distance. We had a spacious room, quiet and clean. All the facilities for a 5 star hotel available. The shower is exceptional. The bed is comfortable. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is very tasty. The waiter from the breakfast is very attentive and extremely professional. We had a very good experience at the hotel.

The hotel exceeding our expectations. From the friendly and helpful reception, to the restaurant waiters as well as the entire staff. The breakfasts are delightful (especially the mini Pestel Nata's), the dinners were exquisite from the juicy Steer to the delicious fresh seafood (Grouper & Salmon). Their deserts are bespoke.

It's a beautiful hotel with large clean rooms. The staff were very helpful throughout my stay there. The breakfast was also outstanding.

This hotel needs to reinvent their service. There was almost no english speaking personel on the floor when I wanted service. To many managers doing daytime and to little professionel service staff. What you need to know is that this hotel is located between two railways, so do the math ! The breakfast was very good. The free parking is very good. The rooms are also nice but could need a makeover. - especially the carpet, also in the hallways. I would not give this hotel 5 stars at this time, but only 4 small ⭐️

Great location for all things Belém. The staff was friendly and efficient. Our room was quite nice and comfortable. I would stay here again and would recommend it to friends.

An overall lovely hotel with a beautiful interior, classical music filling out the silence, a great bar, an amazing breakfast buffet and a great location, close to many attractions that you can find on the nearby pier. However, there is one issue that deducts at least one star from the overall rating - the fitness center. It was, to put it kindly, very lackluster. The crosstrainers are barely functional, there is no air-conditioning, very poor selection of dumbbells, no wallbar, and it doesn't even have a bench to do chest exercises. It feels as if no thought was put into the arrangement of the center whatsoever and that it was only included to meet the minimum requirements for a 5-star hotel. Shame because pretty much everything else about my stay was great.

Fantastic hotel. One negative, no kettle in room to make tea. Just a fancy coffee machine.

The hotel is ok. Time has made it effect and you can see that some parts of the room need some refreshing. The most important issue is the bridge. Trains passing along the bridge might wake you up during your sleep. "It's like sleeping next to a highway" said a colleague. Breakfast was really good.

A good luxury hotel. Fantastic response from the staff and impressed with its location as well as the breakfast that was served. Easy access to public transport services too.

Such a friendly group of people working here. Everyone was so wonderful. Our room was large and well appointed, the wifi was excellent (minor hiccup one day, but a request to reboot fixed that!). We had an issue with our flight, so we were "stuck" in Portugal for a few extra days and after a stint in a tiny room in Cascais, we moved in here. Generous Buffet Breakfast on the patio outside was superb, and lounging by the pool each day was wonderful. Pool is nice and large. Indoor pool is heated, but the weather was so nice we stayed outside. The area is relatively quiet this time of year (guessing summer is much busier). Nice restaurants nearby and a short walk to the train if you want to head into Lisbon proper, Cascais or Estoril for the afternoon. Reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel.

We landed in Lisbon and stayed for one night in June before continuing our travels in Portugal. This was the relaxing stay we never knew we needed. The outdoor pool, friendly service (everything we asked for they made or tried to make it happen), luxurious room and buffet breakfast. It is our hotel of choice for Lisbon.

Staff were friendly and the room was spacious. I woould not consider this a 5 star however. Room decor felt dated. There are dark scrape marks all along the walls in the hotel near the bottom - from the cleaning carts? Luggage? - that make the overall appearance look dirty and uncared for. On a separate note, I felt unsafe stepping out of the shower as the bathroom floor was covered in very smooth tiles. This is asking for someone to slip and hurt themselves.

Room was extremely noisy, as the hotel location is in front of a busy road and tram and train tracks - and was surprised that for a 5* hotel many of the windows were not even double glazing! Was given a voucher for a bottle of wine to be spent in the restaurant - which was closed! Very disappointed overall for what was meant to be a superior experience.

Now a hotel with very high ratings. Great location near the riverside and the tower of Belem. Small tiny rooms, average food, average service Highly over rated

The location is nice, being so near Belem Tower and the water was delightful. Seems like the noise varies depending on where in the hotel you are located. We were facing the entry courtyard and it was quite loud. The room was lovely but not very clean, which was surprising as the rest of the hotel was very clean. We didn’t appreciate when coming from our room, we stopped by the desk to enquire about the pool and the guy at the desk did not seem to believe that we were staying in the hotel- definitely didn’t make us feel the most welcome.

Less than a third of rooms and suites have views. Robotic / impersonal service at Front Office / Reception. Quite the opposite at the bar and the restaurant. Most beds are made by two adjoining Queen single mattresses. Rooms already feel dated, tired - especially carpets and armchairs . Far from the city centre of Lisbon. Taxi to/from city centre is more expensive than to / from the airport. Public transportation is not really an option in pandemic. Hotel is not luxury despite the PR efforts of the NAU Group which only ''operates'' the building. Hotel is ideal for those who already know Lisbon well. This is a solid 4 star + / premium hotel. But definitely not luxury !

Albeit I stayed here in Autumn and was thoroughly impressed, my last experience - a fortnight ago - was a far cry from it; best described as a 5* hotel with a 3* standard, everything was substandard: the bookings department was practically impossible to reach so I can alter my original booking (and when I did finally reach them, had to pay a higher rate), at arrival they forgot(!!!) the sparkling wine that was meant to be a surprise for my partner, the room was dirty(!!!!!), the wifi did not work, the fridge did not work, and the man that I addressed with these issues at reception, apart from constantly talking over me, never followed through on his offer to change our room the following day. The Spa however, was as exceptional as ever, and I am glad to find that so many of the reviews present are a stark contrast to our experience, which must have been most unfortunate indeed.

You are surrounded by two layers of history from the moment you step in. At the entrance you can see the Roman tanks where they produced garum( a fish sauce used as our stock cubes back in the day) and more of the Roman walls can be seen in the spa and the hotel. The spa has a nice big pool, sauna and Turkish bath and very comfy relaxation areas. They also have a tropical rain shower which was such a laugh. Personally I would have liked some jacuzzis as well. The next layer of history is the fact that as the name says this was the palace of the governor of Belem tower. There are some nice tiles and a map of old Lisbon in the lounge with a view to ...you guessed it, the Tower of Belem.
