While we were initially put off by the price, this ended up being a fabulous activity and worth every euro! The session and apparently the organization are very well organized and very customer focused. Chef Pedro was personable, entertaining and informative as he led us to the market to select ingredients, and throughout the cooking experience. We all really did get our hands on the preparation, including being able to shuck oysters and fillet fresh fish! The meal at the end was very good and the generous supply of wine did help us to enjoy the day! I heartily recommend this experience!

We did a private class with 4 with wonderful Paolo and it was the best cooking class we’ve done! We had a great time touring the market, tasting local produce/cheese/meat. Then back to the cooking school for a great class to learn gazpacho/oysters/(cataplana) fish/dessert. Paola was an amazing guide and chef - we had great cooking lessons, conversation and lots of wine! Food was delicious would definitely recommend. Very big thanks to Paolo, Nuno, Fabio and Lisete!

I did this class yesterday and really enjoyed it. Loved Paolo who took the class and instructed and encouraged us to all be involved. There were 12 in the group. 9 from the USA, 2 Canadian’s and myself from Australia. Paolo had the wine flowing and gave us lots of information about Portuguese foods and customs which was fantastic. The chorizo cooked over the fire at the start was a highlight for me. Thanks for the excellent experience.

Ana was a wonderful instructor. Even with a class of 8 she was able to keep each of us engaged and taught us while orchestrating an entire dinner in a timely manor. She provided insights to culture and cooking techniques that were lovely. Highly reccomened her!

We had an amazing time at this cooking class. I enjoyed the market experience watching them clean the fish and pick the freshest fruit and veggies. Even while we waited on our food we had a delicious board with wine and water. We also were able to help prep the food by cutting the veggies and cleaning this fish. The food was delicious. It was great to have a meal and learn about the culture over some authentic cuisine.

Lisbon cooking is designed so that you can cook your own lunch together with a larger group of up to 30 people. Excellent recipes as well as chefs who assist with wit. The rich aperitifs are definitely needed so that you don't always take a bite of the fine food you are preparing. A great experience with a great group. Thank you

This was a great experience to get lots of good food and hang with some really fun people. It was different than previous cooking classes we had attended, so I'd recommend noting any expectations and try removing yourself from them - we had a large class, so the method shifted from us each cooking 3 courses ourselves, our instructor, Miguel, had us all pitch in to make 8 or so dishes. It was quite an experience and was so fun to learn and engage with others! They started on time, too, and that was much appreciated.

Overall experience was fun. First we went to the market and scouted out the ingredients which was a bit slow paced. You end up cooking three courses but each person is given a specific job within a course rather than making their own. I would have preferred making my own meal even if it was simpler or lower quality overall.

The most amazing experience with 2 of the best and funniest hosts we have ever been welcomed by! Thank you for completing our Lisbon experience and helping us to make some of the most delicious Pastel de nata's.

I liked our chef Paolo very much. Very professional and he knew a lot and shared his knowledge. The menu we cooked were all very easy and delicious. However I almost did not book this class because when i made the email inquiry, the owner of this school Felipe would not tell me what we would be cooking. He just bluntly replied the menu is a secret even after my second inquiry. He could have easily shared some sample menus and say we will cook some from this list. I guess the business runs so well that he could be so blunt and unempathetic to his customers.

Meh, this was not the best cooking class I have taken. I really did not like how the group was broken out and only cooked one part of the meal. In other classes I have taken you cook the meal start to finish. I would not recommend this class.

An unforgettable experience! We did the Portuguese Cooking Class (there were a total of 8 people in the group, which was perfect) and had an amazing timing cooking, learning, and getting to know other members of the group. The ingredients were of excellent quality, and Carina was an outstanding teacher. She kept the whole group engaged, while providing fun details about Portuguese history and culture. One note, however, from the website we expected we would be making three dishes: caldo verde, bacalhau, and Pastel de Nata. We ended up learning/making five dishes but Pastel de Nata was not one (they offer a separate class on this). Overall - an outstanding and memorable evening! There’s plenty of food and wine (you will NOT leave hungry or thirsty), and you’ll receive recipes for the dishes you made (and many more) to try again later on your own. Highly recommend and we will certainly plan to come attend another class when we are back in Lisbon!!

As a solo female traveler, I always enjoy connecting with others. This was my first time in a cooking class! The addition of visiting the Market was fascinating along with tasting samples. Our combined efforts along with Paolo's expertise turned out a delicious meal. Now, I can confidently cook octopus at home! Thank you Paolo and Fernanda

We did the Portuguese Cooking Class and it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! It was so interactive and hands-on. It was really nice to be able to interact with other attendees because we were all vaccinated against COVID-19. The owner is such a delight and the chef was so much fun. Wine was flowing and the food was SUPERB! I highly recommend taking a cooking class here and we most certainly will be going back to Cooking Lisbon whenever we visit again. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

We were looking for a fun way to experience Portugal together as a group. Cooking Lisbon was ideal! Paul was a wonderful chef, teacher, and coach. Fernanda was always there when we got lost or needed a little extra help. We learned so much and the food was delicious! I highly recommend it.

Super-recommended experiences! I booked this class as a birthday present for my boyfriend. Felipe is great and his kitchen is very nice (and clean). He taught us how to cook the delicious Pastel de Nata! I'd go back there again!

I was unable to attend due to covid restrictions. Filipe graciously agreed to extend my voucher on more than one occasion. Greatly appreciated and looking forward to going :)

We had a fabulous cooking class with Filipe for a family birthday! Filipe was fantastic to work with while planning a virtual class for several of us on the east and west coasts of the United States. He helped us customize the perfect menu for the guest of honor. The menu was wonderful, and we all learned quite a bit!

I had an online class with Filipe, and it was an awesome experience. Filipe is a great teacher, very accommodating in answering questions, gives a lot of advice, and friendly. I recommend everyone to join the online class. Bonus, he gives many recipes after the class. Thank you so much ;-)

My husband and I did a virtual pastry class and had a wonderful experience. The food came out great and Filipe was a fantastic instructor - he gave very clear directions, answered questions, and was quite funny! We can't wait to visit his kitchen when it is safe to do so.

We recently participated in the Pastéis de Nata class and had an amazing experience! Felipe was awesome teaching us how to prepare/cook these delicious pastries! I'll definitely be making these from the recipe provided so I can share with family and friends who haven't been to Portugal yet. We'll definitely plan to attend another class next time we're back in Lisbon!

My wife, our daughter, and I had a wonderful evening cooking with Chef Paolo and 9 new friends. There was learning, lots of fun, and plenty of great food that we participated in making. (Also, plenty of wine was provided.) Chef Paolo was both entertaining and informative. The facility is very well set up for the activity. I would go again.

We had a fantastic night - if not the best night of our vacation - in this class. At first, we started off with cheese, chorizo and other small bites along with wine (there was plenty of wine throughout all of the night). Then, we were introduced to the ingredients and their continual significance. We were told that in basically every class, codfish is prepared and served. After that, we finally got to cooking. The chef quizzed us lightheartedly about techniques and ingredients and then picked people to perform certain tasks. Everyone got to engage and help prepare prepare our dinner, which we later plated and ate together while having conversations. Our group consisted of people with diverse cultural backgrounds, which made dinner conversations very interesting! After teaching us about the dishes during class, our chef told us a bit about himself while we were dining. Overall, we do not regret going at all and had an easy time getting to know other people, which is why I think even solo travelers would enjoy this class. The price is totally fair considering a cooking class with several dishes, bottomless wine, and an extensive dinner are covered. There are no hidden costs, however, our chef got a well deserved tip for the incredible effort he put into this thoughtfully put together class.

I did the two day Pasteis de Nata class and it was great!! Filipe was super engaging and entertaining! It was such a wonderful way to connect with new and different cultures while learning to make these yummy pastries! highly recommend doing both days so that you can learn to make the puff pastry! So happy that I took this class :) 100% recommend!

We took the Market Tour with Cooking Class in October 2023 and had a great time. The covered market was a short walk away, and fun to explore. Lots of fish and vegetables, and some meat, breads, and cheese. Our instructor, Carina, arranged to provide samples of some Portuguese specialties at the meat, bread, and cheese stalls, all very good. Back at the classroom, we divided into four groups to start preparing our meal. Carina explained that the Portuguese don’t like to cook on an empty stomach, so we started with a great snack including warm chorizo, cheeses, olives, bread, and wine. The meal we cooked included steamed mussels, gazpacho, and cataplana with fish and shrimp. The excellent meal was served with plenty of bread and wine, and followed by an outstanding orange roll cake made in class. Following the class, we received recipes for dishes we prepared, plus some bonus recipes as well. The class was one of the highlights of our visit to Lisbon. We had a great time. We highly recommend this class.

A lovely and memorable cooking class. Our instructor was incredibly accommodating - as our flight was delayed, she kindly waited to begin the class until we rushed straight from the airport. The market tour was very informative and interactive. We had excellent snacks (like grilled chorizo and cheese), wine and coffee as we prepared the meal. The chef was very accommodating to food allergies and made sure everyone had plenty to eat. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Lisbon!

Absolutely fabulous experience. Sadly I took almost no photos as I was too wrapped up in the class the whole time. An excellent choice for anyone who wants to get a more hands on experience with Portuguese cuisine in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere with a like minded group. Can't recommend it enough.

So much fun was had by all! I was leading a group of high school students on an educational tour and we ended our trip with this class. It was a highlight for everyone! No matter the level of expertise, there were tasks for all to complete. We enjoyed talking and laughing with the chef while learning how to make a traditional Portuguese tempura dinner, and it tasted delicious!

What a fun class, I loved learning about Portuguese cuisine. Our chef Paulo is so passionate and was such a pleasure to learn from. It was a clean kitchen, and the staff were really amazing!

What a wonderful class! We participated in the evening class, a total of 10 people, and the class made eight different delicious dishes. The leader, Ana, was personable, knowledgeable, and funny! I’ve taken dozens of classes around the world and this was one of the best!
