My boyfriend booked the cooking workshop as a gift for my birthday. When we arrived we were immediately impressed by the beautiful, cozy kitchen. Our two friendly hosts welcomed us with a nice explanation, some wine and some delicious snacks. With their help we then cooked three dishes: pork, codfish and a dessert based on eggwhites. All very delicious and easy to replicate at home. Really nice experience!

Highly recommended! Loved the experience of cooking some local dishes in a very relaxed and welcoming environment. Even for someone like me, with no cooking experience, the results were awesome. Maybe the wine and snacks helped :)

At the Petiscos course at Homecooking, we learned about more than 5 Portuguese dishes including Pasteis de Nata. My son (9 y.o.) got friendly attention from the instructors and participated in the cooking tasks with everyone (he enjoyed it a lot). We got explanations and background about what we cooked which I find a great intro into the local culture and an inspiration to take home. We enjoyed eating everything we cooked with some very nice wine and coffee. Homecooking is at Belém and it's nice to combine with walking around the area especially Pasteis de Belém that is only 15 minutes walk from the studio. Highly recommended.

Wonderful friendly outgoing instructor last night! Great kitchen space. As a kid we always finished dim sum with Dan Tat egg custard tarts. Which the Portuguese brought to Macau and call Pastel de Nata. So it was a joy to bring my family here and learn to make them.

What a fantastic place to learn to cook. I visited Portugal with my family and all four of us took the class to learn how to bake pastel de nata. My kids were 11 and 9 and they had a fantastic time and were fully capable to doing everything. The owner was the instructor for our class and she was absolutely terrific. She was clear with instructions, patient with questions, and demonstrated each step clearly. She was also friendly and encouraging, and there were plenty of laughs amongst the group that was participating. The kitchen was well-equipped and very clean, with plenty of light for us to see as we worked. The end product was delicious and we all ate as much as we could, with the leftovers being packed up for us to take home. I would highly recommend this class to anyone considering visiting Lisbon. Such a great experience!

My Wife and I attended the class this past Monday evening (sept 25th, 2023) in a clean and comfortable teaching kitchen fully equipped with 8 burner stove top, dual industrial stoves and plenty of counter space. We had lots of fun learning how to make the Nata pastry with the immeasurable help of Myuki (hope I spelled her name correctly). Mixing and then rolling out the pastry dough was challenging but most satisfying. The custard was far easier to perfect and the resulting tarts were very tasty! Can’t wait to get back and make some for our friends in Canada!

What an amazing cooking experience I've shared with a group of friends! Homecooking welcomes you in a super cozy and friendly environment, and gives you great tips to upscale your portuguese dishes. I couldn't recommend more :) ...actually I know they have this amazing "pasteis de nata" workshop, so I am definetely coming back soon 🤤

This was a friendly class in a modern clean kitchen, run by Pedro, who was knowledgeable and patient. We did the 2hr pastel de nata making workshop, and ended up with six pastel de natas each, plus we were provided with coffee and a shot of port to go with our homemade tarts. Incredibly the pastel de nata turned out extremely well even though we were complete novices ... good value for money, great fun, highly recommend!

We had a fantastic experience learning to cook a traditional Portuguese meal. The instructor was friendly and inviting and made it so much fun. We really enjoyed the food and the people we met in the class. I highly recommend this cooking experience if you’re visiting Lisbon!

Overall very good experience not only for foreigners but also for locals (I’m a local) Nice for laughs and giggles. Very fun activity if you bring friends with you. Pedro was very knowledgeable and a good teacher. I guess there could be separate plating for each group/pair of the pastéis de nata you make but besides that the experience was very good, will recommend any day any time!

Had a great time at the Pastel de Nata cooking class. The instructor gave good indications and tips along the way, the whole experience was super fun and informative. Can’t wait to make some pasteis de nata at home!

My two adult children and I did the pastel de nata class just before Christmas and it was a fabulous experience. Fun from start to finish. Our instructor Teresa was great at explaining and had a good sense of humour - much appreciated. And wow - did the pastels ever taste good. Yum!! Its a wonderful well-equipped facility and we loved the format of interacting with others, tasting the pastels and sharing a drink of port or cherry liqueur at the end of the session. 5-star plus!

Great experience all around - super friendly staff, clean and new location in central Belem, really well-equipped kitchen. They were very flexible in adapting the menu to our needs. Well worth the money!

We had a great time cooking with Alexandre. He did a great job teaching us about Portuguese dishes and helped us make a delicious 3 course meal with short ribs, cuddle fish and pastel de nata. He also taught us about the city of Lisbon and gave us additional restaurant recommendations. We definitely recommend booking a class here!

We decided to take a class on how to make the famous Pastel de Nata. As the Husband I are not very apt in cooking, it was a challenge. Lots of fun met a some nice people and in the end they were tasty. Not Belem quality, but good. If you get a chance, make sure to schedule a class.

The Pastel de Nata Culinary Course at Homecooking Lisbon was the best experience I've had in Portugal! Alexandre is a great host, an excellent chef, and a perfect teacher. During the couple of hours we spent there, we learned how to make a Pastel de Nata from scratch - which, with Alexandre on your side, you’ll feel like an expert! Besides making and baking the Pastels, you'll also learn some things about Portuguese culinary and lifestyle and in the end, you'll have the chance to taste what you've created while having a cup of coffee or of the famous Ginjinha. If you want to create a memorable experience for someone you care about, I totally recommend you Homecooking Lisbon!

My grown family and I loved our experience and now have a new appreciation for puff pastry dough. We were shocked the pastels came out as flaky and delicious as they did - just about the best we had. Our instructor's were instructive but helped bail you out if you were going awry. We all had a fun time. Would definitely recommend it!

Amazing experience! The kitchen is super cozy and our hosts were friendly and patient! We ended up learning new things with Pedro, who shared some tips to improve our cooking skills. Was a pretty cool team building, we had fun, worked together to cook the dinner, had great conversations in the meantime and ended with a tasty and perfect meal! As suggestion, increase a bit the variety of wines!

Had such a great experience with this cooking class! We did dessert and two mains. Appetizers and wine were provided. Such a fun way to immerse yourself in the culture and learn something new. Our instructor was fantastic!! Plus the location, while a little out of the main city, is in a great little area with a tourist landmark and great pastry shop for pastel de natas. If you’re up for it I recommend getting a scooter or bike and riding along the waterfront from Lisbon to the class!

My friend and I did a pastel de nata baking class and really enjoyed it! Our instructor, Andrés, was very knowledgeable and helpful. We were able to learn about how to bake a pastel de nata, but also the history behind it. The kitchen was also very clean which we really appreciated. We had a great time and can’t recommend this enough!!

We participated in the Traditional Portuguese Cooking class and had a wonderful time! Andrés, our instructor, was friendly, helpful and so informative-he gave us lots of helpful hints about how to prepare a traditional Portuguese meal. The food we prepared was absolutely delicious (I am not sure that the pictures do it justice)! I can't wait to make these dishes for friends and family. In addition, the space was perfect allowing us to have an enjoyable (and again-delicious) dinner with the other participants.

We had a wonderful time and learned a lot. This was our first cooking class and we loved getting first hand knowledge of traditional and local Portuguese dishes and of course, how to bake pasteis de nata. Miyuki was our chef and was wonderful. Sorry about the name spelling.

👍👍 Randomly walked by this place, then doubled back to go check it out. Definitely glad I did! The food was delicious, the owner/chef was sweet and told me all about the cuisine. There are three barstools in that place and you sit right at the counter where the food is made. Would definitely go back if...
