This is our favorite beach ⛱️ ! It's a great place to walk early morning / late evening. There are places to have drinks and clean bathrooms! The beach always have some form of activities ( volleyball, football, tennis) and people are always friendly! The beach have several ramps and my boyfriend with a wheelchair ♿️ can come with me to the sand! And we love it! We are from England and it's 100% better at carcavelos than UK beaches. Wish sometimes that the ramp could stretch a bit closer to the water, but that's something minimal compare to how amazing accessibility 👨‍🦽 it is for people with minimum ability. We very happy for who ever made this great work. We would love to find out more and make Portugal more accessible 🤩 We come down to this beach almost every other day for 1 months now.

No doubt one of the best beaches in Portugal. You can go at any time of the year and be amazed by the sunset colors. Also good to surf and do some other watersports. It has lifeguards troughout the year. The only down is in July and August where the beach is too much crowded. Other than that great spot!

The beach is very nice and clean . There a very broad and large sand area where one can chill. There are also some restaurants and beach parasol for rent but the big minus for my taste is that there are not enough WC and shower facilities like in Cascais for example (just a few train stations (15 mins) from there). You have to stand in a long line in order to shower and I could not find a place to change or free WC as mentioned above. Therefore I prefer to go to Cascais next time. 🤷

This is one of the best beaches I have ever been to! The beach is wide and easily accessible from multiple places. There is a boardwalk that has surf schools, restaurants, and exercise points, and a few bars. The locals and tourists keep the area clean and I have yet to see any trash! Located a little further down there is a small playground for kids right on the beach. If you were to wander up the coast a few hundred meters, there is a rocky shoreline that is perfect for pictures and exploring. I would not recommend the rocky area for kids. Keep in mind that lifeguards are only out during peak season. With the wide-open view of the Atlantic Ocean, everyone who visits here will surely find this beach a perfect place to spend the day.

really nice beach however it’s a bit out of the way to get it if you are visiting the city. we used a cab service which cost us about £25 return. loads to see and do and family friendly (small playground to the left) plus surf lessons, bars, and shower stations situated all over. weather was lovely and the sand was hot. spend at least half a day here.

Nice beach but can get crowded over the weekend. Waves are good for surfing. Bring your own umbrella

You can get there by train. But, of course, this is a beach for surfers. A long, gentle entrance to the ocean and almost always waves. There are several schools for learning to surf. Purely for swimming, I would choose the beach in Santo Amaro.

Our favorite beach in the Lisbon area! Love waking it. Water is perfect in the summer. Enough waves to surf a bit but nothing that is too crazy you and kids can’t swim. Very family friendly.

It's a beach for the family, water temperature isn't cold and waves will only knock down a very small child, so everybody can enjoy. They have all structure needed like restaurants, bars, a train station about 8 minutes on foot, public showers and safe guards. You also have the beautiful view of the a fort (but unfortunately as far as i know it's closed for visitation). Nice beach of you wanna hang around with friends, family or if you're into kite surfing.

Amazing long beach west of Lisbon center. Great for having a long walk, either in the sand or at the promenade, where you can find shops, surf schools or restaurants. It's really worth to visit. Even if you just sit there, watching all the activities going on.

A long and beautiful sand beach. Carcavelos transforme during seasons. During summer it is very busy, specially on the weekend. It is great to walk and run any time of the year.

Excellent beach for a sunny day when it’s not too windy. The beach is large, the waterfront is great, very gradual entry, great for baths and learning to surf. Plenty of places around to get food and drinks.

Nice clean beach. You can pay to stay under the canopy shed if needed. Dont bring your baby stroller or pram very difficult to push there. Nice view, lot of food, ice cream, drinks options to buy there.

Nice place, we paid 25 € for one umbrella and three beach chairs. Only 4/5 stars because the umbrellas and beach chairs were about 100m from the sea shore

Very large beach with a lot of bars and restaurants. Easy to get there by car or by train. Also great for sports like football and volleyball. You have the possibility to take a shower, wash your feed and go to toilet.

Nice beach. First real Atlantic beach of Lisbon main side to the Tejo. Some nice bars and Cafés directly at the beach. Great surf spot for beginners. It had also numerous surf schools. Kids playground is well maintained. Free parking available as well. Definitely recommended and worth a visit.

Carcavelos beach is beautiful. It has one of the longest sand areas in the Cascais line, several spots to practice sports (in and out of the sand, such as bars, areas to play football, volleyball, etc) and a surf school. In its line, we find an endless list of bars and restaurants. It is a popular beach and is usually well attended: if you want a place near the waterline, don't forget to arrive early!

  • 5/5 Dani R. 2 years ago on Google
It’s a beautiful beach, however, avoid it when it’s too busy ;)

This is huge public beach. The sand and the water were both wonderful. There is lots of open space for playing sports, and there are also plenty of lounge chairs and sun shades. We visited when it wasn't busy, on a weekday evening, so availability may be limited if it's crowded. There are many restaurants and bars that you can walk up to right from the beach. The beach is easy to access by car, as a major road runs right along the beach, with plenty of free parking available along both sides of the road.

Biggest beach in Lisbon, playground for kids, toilet (sad its closing in evening and no place to do your things), couple cafes for drinks and a lot free beach parking which is rear in Oeiras region

  • 5/5 Amy G. 7 months ago on Google
The beach is very big and clean. It’s not crowded when we went and a lot of activities. It’s very relaxing to sun bath, read and watch people play volleyball close by. We had a great time there.

Really good beach! I love to go there every summer. it's pretty full sometimes, and some areas are kind of dirty, especially where the main crowd is, but overall it's a great experience every time, with good cafes and other shops really close. I will definitely be going again, with or without family.

  • 4/5 Karen G. 1 year ago on Google
The beach is okay, there are toilets close to the beach, places to get snacks from, drinks and it's close to the train station. The water is freezing cold even on a very Sunny day in June.

(Translated by Google) Beach with the longest stretch of sand in the Cascais line, and also the most recent beach of the 1960s. Who doesn't remember Estalagem Narciso. My father was employed there, and I lived there the best bathing times ever, when there was really a great beach, there was not a span of sand with so much affluence, where the Elites were there on the ground, and where everyone greeted and respected. There is no way not to appreciate this beautiful beach today turned exclusively to surf, I agree today is the only way to make it profitable the whole year.
