A delight to the palette. Double bonus for vegetarians as the menu is completely meat free. Each tasting is an artistic as well as gastronomic masterpiece. Definitely pricey but worth it. Took us over 4 hrs to get through dinner. Make reservations. Only wish they hadn't charged us a little over 20 € for the water too, considering we did a complete 12 course tasting menu complete with wine pairing 😐

As a vegetarian, I had great hopes for a Michelin star vegetarian restaurant. I felt let down and robbed of my 330 euros (for 2). The flavors declined after the first 2 of the 12 moments. Many of the dishes had a raw uncooked vegetable flavor. Maybe that's what they were going for, but one would eat a store bought salad for that experience. I am not even sure why this place has a Michelin star. Some of the regular average restaurants have better flavor to their food. Even the ambience of the restaurant, presentation of the food and the lovely service of the waiters could not save us from the painful dinner experience. I wish I had considered some of the other critical reviews of this place more seriously and refrained from spending my evening and money here. Do not recommend and will not go back here.

What an amazing experience, one of my favorite Michelin Star restaurants to date! Do not let the vegetarian tag scare you away. They will blow your mind with flavors you never thought of before! The wine pairings were plenty and delicious also! Well worth the price but it wasn't even as expensive as every other michelin star restaurant I have been to! Even with the wine paring!

One of the most creative and delicious meals I've had! Vegetarians and non-vegetaians alike can enjoy delicately crafted dishes as part of a curated pre-fixe menu that leaves you fully satisfied but also wishing it wouldn't end. Every dish was beautiful, unique, and flavorful. Many of the dishes had pleasantly surprising textures and unexpected flavor combinations that worked perfectly. The ambiance was intimate and swanky with an eclectic aesthetic that felt so thoughtful. The service was outstanding and staff were kind, engaging, knowledgeable, and attentive. If I'm ever in Lisbon again, I wouldn't leave without eating here again.

A magical experience. The food, service, and overall experience were spectacular. It’s rare that you can find a place that serves such refined, exciting, and tasty vegetarian food. One of the top dining experiences of our lives. We went to celebrate our anniversary and they truly made us feel special. Highly recommend!

Truly an incredible 3 hour dining experience. We tasted 14 amazing & thoughtful ‘moments’ as described by Nuno & his colleagues. Very knowledge wine pairings & delicious cocktail suggestions as well. We were celebrating our honeymoon & enjoyed a delicious piece of cake from the restaurant as well. Truly a dining experience I have never had before & will treasure forever! You must try this place! Well worth the price.

Amazing place, food, wine, and service!! As a life long vegetarian, I was excited to finally be able to experience a fixed/tasting menu style dinner as the entire menu is 100% meat free. They serve 12 "moments" and expertly pair them with wine (optional) from all over Portugal. Highly recommend for a wonderful evening out and a truly unique dinning experience.

Exceptional fine dining vegetarian fare (vegan upon request) from local culinary legend Jose Avillez. Presented as a seasonal tasting menu that explores a wide range of flavours and textures, this will suit foodies of all persuasions and might well become Portugal’s first Michelin-starred vegetarian option. Really loved the modern interior with a slight hipster vibe as well.

Our meal at Encanto was perfection from start to finish, one of the top three meals we’ve ever had. Each bite was exquisitely balanced and thoughtfully created, beautifully presented and consistently an absolute joy to eat. The staff took time to explain each dish and wine, happily answering all our questions. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive, with the entire staff working smoothly as a team. One of them even took the time to write us a list of recommendations for us in his hometown, and the insanely talented chef came out to talk with us when we were finished. This was truly an exceptional dining experience, a true highlight of our trip to Portugal. We feel incredibly lucky to have found Encanto just a couple weeks after it opened, and we cannot say enough good things about it.

Very disappointing meal. 3 out if the dishes were good the rest just average. We have been going to avillez restaurants for years now. Feels like they have dropped the game. They do of course have lovely staff. Hopefully they change the menu soon as the concept, especially in lisboa, is great.

Creative take on vegetarian dishes. Unfortunately the night we were there, two KOL's were dashing everywhere posing for and taking photos. It's rather disrespectful to the chef, the food and other guests and puts a huge discount on guests' experience. Hope the restaurant will manage the press better next time.

One of the best meals of my life, and there's been quite a lot of outstanding ones. Inventive light delicious food, perfect natural wine pairings, and attentive personal service created a truly memorable evening. The beautiful space added to the delight. So good we're going back tomorrow!

I can’t say enough good things about our experience here. The food was insane. Having vegetarian food produced to such an amazing standard was an incredibly feat. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, this isn’t a normal night out for us and they made us feel welcome and special. The wine pairing was fantastic and although we felt pretty rough the next day we would do it all again!

Great meal, was way above expectations although we have been to all the other JA restaurants. But the combination of creativity, diversity and taste profile was quite impressive. Well done team Encanto!!

Enchanting vegetarian tasting menu of 12 intricate & creative dishes in a gorgeous dining room. We arrived hungry and left happy & satisfied! Afonso & Ines took the utmost care for us, so impressive that they can describe the dishes in English and Portuguese. There was a silverware change after each course. Doors did not open until 7pm and the meal lasted 3 hours. 👍 Eggplant puff pastry, paprika & lemon 👍 Torched turnip, ribbons, pinenut milk 👍 Sourdough bread 👍 D/F Zucchini blossom w/ Mex filling 👍 Fried beet, sweet potato: crispy & fun texture 👍 Atlantic seaweed couscous: creamy, umami, crispy bites, hollandaise 👍 Pinenut ice cream, warm fig soufflé & fig oil

Absolutely stunning evening that topped off an enjoyable 20th anniversary weekend in Lisbon. We were looked after by Augustin. Amazing waiter who the rest of the team probably thought took the night off as we chatted so much. All 12 courses were amazing. An absolutely gastronomic experience that won’t be forgotten in a hurry. Thank you to the entire Encanto team.

In our stay in Lisbon, we visited 2 Michelin Starred restaurants. Both of them by the same chef, and on the same street. We first went to Belcanto, and after that to Encanto. Not gonna lie, we had a few expectations. Overall, they were met. I will say a few differences compared to Belcanto. At Encanto, you need to knock on the door, whereas at Belcanto they opened the door. So keep that in mind. Regarding the service, they were pretty similar. As the tasting menu, at Belcanto you have 2, and a la carte, and at Encanto you have only 1 standard vegetarian tasting menu. The food was very good, best of the 12 moments being the beetroot tartare. It’s a good value for money, we paid 330€ (2pax).

This was hands down one of the best dining experiences of my life, and I highly recommend dining at Encanto to everyone. For the 12-course meal and fantastic service, burst of flavors, and food aesthetic, this meal felt totally worth the higher cost for me (for anyone contemplating or on the edge of a decision). Especially as a vegetarian, my Encanto experience made me view vegetables in a completely different light, with each vegetable getting it’s time to shine with each carefully prepared dish which was served. I felt lucky to be able to experience every dish at a Michelin star restaurant, without being restricted by my vegetarian diet. My personal favorite was the fried zucchini flower with pumpkin sauce, and elderflower ash buttered bread spread, both of which are on my mind even weeks later. Thank you to the staff at Encanto for a lovely, one of a kind experience. I sure do hope to come back soon!

Out of body experience. IMO it was way better than Jose Andres Minibar as we went there one month ago. Every dish for the 3.5-4 hr experience was superb, amazingly designed to bring out flavor of the ingredients and elegantly presented. We paid $355 for two people total which included two drinks and tip. Highly recommend for any vegetarian or non vegetarian.

Phenomenal service, and a delicious and delightful experience at every turn. The non-alcoholic drink pairing was unbelievably good and thoughtfully done. Inês was amazing and even gave us vegetarian recommendations for our upcoming trip to Porto. Very worth it!!!

Good, but not quite five star good. Food explanations could have been just a bit better, and the main dessert dish wasn’t the greatest. Generally a great experience though!

Beautifully prepared dishes (moments). We did the wine pairing with our meal, it was worth it. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Our dinner was 3 hours and we enjoyed every last crumb.

Great evening! We liked almost all of the 12 courses, in particular the 2nd (tomato), 4th (courgette), 8th (alheiro) and 10th (mushrooms). Wine pairing (of solely Portuguese wines!) was also definitively worth it, albeit that servings were sometimes a bit too modest. BTW, I noticed a few critical vegan reviews here. Do not recognise it. The menu is already 90% vegan and the lady next to me bumped it up to a 100% without too munch hassle.

Absolutely amazing experience! Highly recommend for dinner! From the decor to the staff to the food to the experience, it was all 5 stars. I sat at the bar and had the pleasure of chatting with the bartender Daniel. The cocktail menu had a few stars but Daniel was great to curate a few drinks based on my palette and vibe, on the spot. You may think that each dish looks small but they will fill you up.

Lovely hidden 1 star Michelin vegetarian restaurant. Reservations required. When you arrive ring the bell and staff will come to open the door. Set tasting menu, option to add drink pairing, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic available. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable while there heard the staff speaking French,Spanish,Portuguese and English. Staff did of a great job of describing dishes in the guests native language. Went for a special occasion and the staff brought us a lovely additional dessert.

I would say for exclusive vegetarian one-star Michelin restaurant the chef did a pretty good job. Except for a couple of misses all the other dishes had elevated flavor and the chef used some great technique to cook the food. I would say that the food was good considering they had no expensive meat or fish to hide behind and they had to make the vegetables shine. My favorite was the Golden egg dish along with the strawberry and artichoke gelato

Absolutely delicious/unique/surprising food paired with outstanding service will create a one of a kind experience. Highly recommended regardless if you are a vegetarian or not. A side note to show how exceptional their service is - I asked more details about the wine paring we had and they emailed a list of the wines and where they were from in the country.

Encanto, a restaurant located in the heart of Lisbon, is a true culinary gem. The menu is an artful blend of flavors, textures, and colors that showcase the chef's culinary expertise. Each dish is a masterful composition that delights the senses with its tasteful refinement. Their gin tonic is a true standout. Crafted with precision and care, it is a libation that embodies the essence of the restaurant - a blend of elegance, creativity, and exceptional taste. Overall, Encanto is a must-visit destination for any discerning food lover, with its meticulous attention to detail, impeccable presentation, and exceptional taste.

Wow! What a great journey of dishes, ‘moments’ as they say here, we had. The service was great as well as the wine pairing. Definitely a place to recommend for vegans, vegetarians and especially for people who are open to switch to the new norm; finger licking vegan fine dining!

Wonderful restaurant for fine dining vegetarians! It’s a fixed tasting menu that takes into consideration any intolerances and allergies. We had a great time! Great decor as well as delicious food and drinks too!

Special, amazing service, and so nice for my partner to have a fine dining meal catered for him. Have done a few tasting menus in the past that were vegetarian and they were obviously done in a way that was not created to do anything but substitute meat for veg. Here the plates are well thought out, and present foods and tastes in a way that delights you. Got the wine pairing; mostly whites which I was happy with as full bodied reds with some of these dishes just wouldn’t work. The sommelier was excellent and I genuinely had some of the best and most interesting wines I’ve ever tried, and have noted a few to try pick up. You don’t get much wine per glass but it’s still plenty; it’s enough per course without making you so drunk you forget the whole meal! The standouts were the cabbage and porridge, and the I loved the carob dessert. The only bum note for us was the asparagus part of the Thai curry dish, which just tasted weird and of the oil it had been cooked in, which was disappointing as we both love asparagus and had been excited to see what they did with it. One bad bite out of so many isn’t bad going - if you can afford it and want to have a fine dining experience in Lisbon, you can’t get much better than this.

Fantastic food. It tastes even better than it looks. Loved the wine pairings as well. It was an evening to remember. Being vegetarian and able to find this wonderful vegetarian food was a treat and a highlight of our trip to Lisbon. There was a couple next to me who said they were not vegetarian but were so enchanted by the food at encanto.
