I regret going to this clinic. I wanted to have a few colorless moles removed from my arms, because I didn't like the way they looked. The doctor then used a laser to burn at least 2mm deep, which left scars that are much worse than the original spots. They look like cigarette burns. I complained and asked if he could help with the scars and waive their usual 90 euro consult fee. With that, he did do a free scar laser reduction, but that didn't help very much. He said he had to go deep with the laser because the spots were "pre-malignant"... but if that were really the case, he should have carefully cut away the spots and had them tested for cancer, not burn them with a laser. He also did not use any sort of numbing. Those first spot removals hurt so badly that I asked for numbing for the next spots. He administered the numbing but then immediately proceeded to remove the other spots without waiting. The numbing only took effect as I was leaving the clinic. I also did IPL to remove freckles from my shoulders. That had hardly any effect, not even close to what before and after pictures on the internet suggest. I know it's often recommended to do multiple treatments, but I should have seen more results from just one treatment - I've done IPL before and know what to expect. He and the nurse were careless during the treatment, not checking first if I had on sunscreen, for example (I had to ask them if it would be a problem, and only after that did they do a lazy attempt to clean the area).

I sent an appointment request by email and was contacted by phone to set the date. When I got to the clinic, the receptionist told me she had been trying to reach me for a few days because the appointment had been canceled. I hadn't received any phone calls - it turns out she had been dialing the wrong number the whole time. She didn't even have the skill (or willpower) to check the initial email and verify my number or, hell, reply to my email!! Instead, I drove 40kms for an appointment that never happened. Will not go back.

I have been coming to Personal Derma for about 3 to 4 years now. There was not ONE single visit that I did not wait at least 30 minutes to be called to the doctor’s room. This is even funny because I usually spend more time in the waiting room that the actually doctor’s room. You would think the clinic is always very busy… ITS NOT. There’s usually 2 to 3 people sitting in the waiting room. My latest visit to the clinic I was advised to buy a couple of things for my acne and you would not believe when I say that when I got to the pharmacy, 3 out of the 4 things the doctor told me to buy were no longer made. Even the workers at the pharmacy were laughing because the doctor should have known about this. So here I am, once again, in the waiting room for over 1 hour now, waiting to see the doctor again. This is the last time I come here.

I wish I didn't have to write this, but they're in it for the profit. I went to this clinic because of an issue that I had a couple of times in my life and I know what helps. The doctor tried to go with a therapy that is completely outdated and not recommended at all and even proposed (out of nowhere) skin treatment that would've cost around 1000(!) Euros if I did all of them together. It had nothing to do with my problem and I did not ask for it. I went to another clinic afterwards and received proper advice. I understand that this clinic serves both medical advice and cosmetics but please resume to actually being more interested in treating patients than making a sales show

please be careful to go to this clinic. All I got from my visit is a big bill for prescription from the dr. They are trying to make sales, but then they didn’t care about your health. I bough everything from prescription in their clinic and on the next day I got awful skin irritation. I tried to connect with them to deal with it but they just haven’t answer me now. Don’t recommend to go!

The decor and presentation of this clinic is really polished, but it runs more as a profit center than one that is prioritizing your best interests and care. My experience involved a male dermatologist giving glib opinions about what another dermatologist had prescribed to me for a preexisting skin disorder, and without even properly examining the problem area for themselves. He also made me uncomfortable in two occasions during the course of the consultation: (1) he suggested that I get hair removal laser treatment and inappropriately lifted his shirt to show that he had done it for himself on his chest. I never even asked him about hair removal as an interest. (2) At the end of the session, he then asked me to lower my mask and said that I should get botox by my eyes! Having been to two other dermatologists in Lisbon (Clínica do Jardim das Amoreiras and DermoChiado, both recommended), I can vouch for there being much better and more ethical dermatologists in the city, not to mention also much more affordable.

The clinic is good and there are many treatment options.

First experience I ever had with a dermatologist. Dr Uva prescribed me some products that have helped my skin a lot and I don't have the same issues I did in the past. As well as that, he gave me Lazer treatment for a large, unsightly scar I have on my chest from a heart surgery I had over 10 years ago. I finished the lazer treatment and the scar looks comfortable different and much better. Highly recommend this clinic.

I've been going to personalderm for a few months now and I've had a great experience. Every staff member is so welcoming and my skin is getting better and better. They are by far the best! I am so happy I found Dr. Uva at Personal Derma! Fluent in English, Dr. Uva listened to my concerns and addressed each of them. He loves his work and is enthusastic about achieving results. He not only eliminated various keratoses, he brought down the redness in my face (rosacea). In addition, I have sun damaged skin and his treatments eliminated the dark spots on my face and chest. Not only does this help prevent future keratoses, the treatments also improved the texture of my skin. Amazing! I am thrilled and extremely grateful. A bonus is that the staff is attentive and kind and the facility is modern and comfortable. Personal Derma is the best.

I visited the clinic today for a consultation on my acne issues along with my partner who got treated by Dr. Uva as well. I had a thorough consultation for the best possible solution to fix my acne problem. I had a laser treatment to keep my acne at bay and a few creams for maintenance. The procedure went well. Dr. Uva is amazingly wonderful and explained thoroughly the things I need to expect. I can't wait to go back for my next treatment. I am very confident that I am in a good hands. Honestly, great experience with the clinic! Every single person working there is very welcoming and friendly and Dr. Uva really took great care with my issue and took time to discuss with me everything regarding the treatment. Everyone speaks great English, which made my visit there much easier. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quality service.

Spectacular clinic and everyone is extremely professional and competent. Last month I had a pico laser and it was the first time I saw visible results in the texture of my skin (I had acne spots and very enlarged pores) compared to all the peelings I had done in the hospital previously. Personal Derma and the Doutor Uva are very professional, polite and friendly. It is one of the few clinics in Portugal that have phototherapy for skin conditions. It worked for me with great visible results. Highly recommended.

Excellent professionalism! I was diagnosed with a plantar wart on my left foot in a reference hospital, but it was here with Dr. Luís Sousa Uva that the true diagnosis was made. In reality, I had a piece of glass stuck in my foot which was immediately removed in a very professional manner, with great sympathy and confidence that it gave me. I am very grateful for the efficient resolution of my problem that no one had resolved for a month. I highly recommend this clinic!
