A nice "interactive learning museum" , do not expect a Quake simulator, because this isn't what it is. The rooms are nicely decorated, themed very well and quite educational. I think the level of information caters to different targets so it's not too top level, but doesn't even go super in depth. The experience overall was really enjoyable and nice (we went as a group) only giving a three because it seems to me that the ticket price is a little bit too high for the experience you get. Would still recommend to go

Museum/ immersive earthquake experience. Place dedicated to te Lisbon Earthquake in 1755, with simulators. We can walk through ancient Lisbon, learn about society on 18th century and actually feel as if we were really there. We can learn about emergency plans and procedures that we should take when another earthquake hits us. Tickets are not cheap for the average, but is worth every cent spent. Really recommendable for adults, children and seniors. Accesible for people with limited mobility and wheelchair (with previous contact with the team). All the staff is very helpful. Introductions to specific points of the experience are made in portuguese and english. Audio points through the journey in PT, EN, FR and ES.

An interesting and well executed experience that puts the Lisbon of today in context. Very impressive and enjoyable for adults and kids as you will learn a lot through audio, visual and hands on interaction with fun experiments. A visit here will enrich your subsequent visit to the city center.

Museum opened in spring 2022. It was a great experience to visit this new museum while the exhibits were in pristine condition. Lots of interactive exhibits designed for children, but some additional content at adult level as well. Would have rated higher, but felt that the way that large groups of people are required to stay together throughout the museum resulted in lots of bursts of hurrying and waiting. It also means there may be quite a wait until you can enter with the next group and time in the museum is consistently approx 90mins. Entrance price is also a bit high. Note that it did not appear to be accessible for those that can't do stairs or cobblestone.

A fun experience especially if you have tween-aged kids. Think of it as a hybrid between a science centre, an escape room and a disney ride experience with a fairly controlled, linear "this room, then this room" type structure. Interesting info, interactive exhibits and information on the Lisbon earthquake. We took about 1hr 40 mins to do the whole experience. It's not a conventional traditional museum.

Children and adults will love this experience. It is an amazing way to learn about history. Giving it a 4 because they overbooked, and some of us were unable to fly enjoy.

THIS WAS AWESOME!! My husband and I took our 3 kids ages 12, 10 and 8 and we all had such a fun and informative time. The museum is interactive and we learned so much about the earthquake of 1755 and how Portugal changed and grew from this devastating disaster.

Awesome interactive museum Although it is a new museum in town (opened in 2022), I would put it on the must visit list in Lisbon. Very intelligently thought out, with a lot of interesting information, all dressed in a superb story, in which the technology and the talent of the voice actors, create a wonderful storytelling. I constantly had the feeling that I was in an escape room. I will not post pictures of what you will find inside precisely so as not to spoil the surprise. I repeat, it is a must visit in Lisbon! Enjoy and "expect the unexpected" ;)

I had some time to kill and knew little about the experience before going. Its a very family friendly activity with alot of interactive displays and immersive presentations. The kids in my group really liked it. I was quite suprised by the dynamic ticket pricing and as I had walked in without a booking and was charged 28 euro which is way too much for a few rooms where a seat vibrates a bit and you can hear survivors tales through an ear piece.

As a geographer and geography teacher, I was really keen to visit. The experience is great, and quite interactive with the different rooms, speakers to listen into and information boards. I do think it is a little expensive. There wasn't enough time in certain parts I.e. the training room was too rushed. It's very technical in there and I couldn't get through all the station to read the information - this part needs more time. I liked the idea of the wristband if you wanted extra information about certain topics emailed to you. Unfortunately I checked all my inboxes and never received an email, so that part seems a bit pointless. I've looked through the reviews and have seen this has happened to others too.

What an amazing Museum. Newly opened, with an informative interactive layout it is truly the BEST I've been to. Our 12yr old daughter loved it and learned so much about the Lisbon earthquake and also how it compared to others around the globe. Its a MUST SEE attraction for Lisbon visitors.

very interesting and exciting experience. I'm glad that people can create such places themselves, even with a small budget. This is not a state museum. Lots of details and instructions, it is possible to get a lot of additional information that will be sent to you by email. There is a little bit of time to look through the rooms, but there is a very large flow of people, so in general it is understandable why time is limited.

Great educational experience regarding the big Lisbon quake and rebuild of the city in 1755 but also good general earthquake preparedness info. Only open 4 months, our taxi driver wasn't sure where it was (just past the MATT museum up a short flight of stairs in the right) so somewhat a challenge to find but expect will become more popular as it was a fun experience. Not for the queasy though as you will undergo some seismic simulation. Timed visits but we did not have a reservation and didn't wait long

Amazing experience of the actual earthquake. My daughter says it was the best museum in the world. Everything is in 4 languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish or French. Thank you, amazing very helpful stuff and one of a kind experience!

An amazing experience! It shows you the underwhelming history of the 1775 Lisbon earthquake in a spectacular way! You learn all kind of beautiful and educational things! It is a must of you visit this beautiful city!

Amazing museum. It uses new technology to create an experience of being in Lisbon on the day of the earthquake in 1755 and the weeks following it. It is fun and along the way you learn about earthquakes and about the city's history

The tickets are expensive (€28 pp), but the experience was worth it. The museum is well executed and highly interactive. It was really fun too!! I recommend purchasing your tickets in advance.

Visiting the event of the Great Earthquake of 1755 while visiting through time, this experience is really well done. The activities coupled with the flow that the whole experience follows provides you more than enough time to experience it all without feeling it's going to stall an any point. Even when you think you've seen everything on one section, the ongoing activity and evolution of the area keeps you engaged. Coupled to all this comes the possibility to have all sorts of information sent over to your inbox along with pictures. Definitely a good way to spend an hour and a half.

OMG, this was truly a wonderful museum to visit. It combined history, technology, fun, and conveyed a level of seriousness due to the tragic events of the earthquake, tsunami, and fires of Lisbon through interactive learning. The latest technology was used to deliver an 5 Star rating. The staff was professional, knowledgeable, and engaged with the patrons. It was worth the cost and the 1.5 hour museum tour is a must see!!!!

A very interesting trip. A lot of learning about the physics of an earthquake and a lot about its history. Multimedia gold! And in the final room... it gives me goosebumps 👏👏👏 I bought the ticket 20 minutes before, but I was alone. I wholeheartedly recommend this place!

Great adventure! Very interesting especially since a friend of mine plays the priest in the movie that's been shown during the earthquake experience.

What a fun way to spend your day! It’s all about learning how Lisbon survived the 1755 earthquake. A great journey for everyone, no matter what age, the staff are absolutely amazing and ready for all your questions!

We liked the concept of the museum and thought we’d check it out. There was lots of information and you won’t get through it all but they have a way for you to email yourself to read the information later. The simulation rooms were okay not sure exactly what we were expecting but it was more than what we did. They did a great job decorating the various rooms and the interaction parts were good. It makes you leave thinking about how you have prepared yourself for an earthquake!

It’s not terrible, but a little disappointing given the high price point of 26€ per person. They seem to try to justify the price by offering a full 1h40m worth of content, but 90% of this content is self-guided. Also, it’s described as an experience for people of all ages, but everything felt like it was aimed at a child audience. It would have been much nicer if it was more like a real museum — with exhibits showcasing some surviving artifacts, and some deeper exploration of the impacts the earthquake had on politics, society, philosophy, or science. But it barely touches on these things and is mostly set up like an attraction at a children’s theme park, with cheap plastic props, basic special effects, and cartoonish looking videos. There’s also a whole “time travel” segment that doesn’t contribute anything meaningful, except maybe a “wow” factor if you’re under 13. The two rides where you get to “feel” an earthquake were quite gimmicky and unrealistic. Maybe it’s my perspective as someone who has personally lived through a real major earthquake, but this part of the experience was pretty detached from reality. It wasn’t all terrible though. The interactive science experiments showing things like how plate tectonics work, the propagation of P & S waves, and the effect on buildings was all informative and well put together. The staff and tour guides that assist you are friendly and helpful. But honestly I would ONLY recommend this as an educational experience for children. If you’re in a group of just adults, it’s not worth it in my opinion.

What a fantastic immersive experience. Enjoy this state of the art museum that combines history with informative learning and the chance to think about how decisions were made in a crisis and challenge you to think about how you would make decisions. This is a full experience that combines learning with science and immersive experiences, it is a real joy to go to and a must for both children and adults. Wonderful place to visit.

We paid €81 for 2 adults and a teenager. It was interactive and quite informative, but it felt like it was more aimed at school children rather than the older generation. Lots of projectors and vibrating seats etc, but it just felt a little like an amusement park, rather than somewhere explaining about such a significant event. Too expensive and at tiles too boring.

A fun and interactive experience, taking you back through Lisbon’s history. The experience is done in a timely manner with your group and you follow the ‘story’ through into each room together. Each room had different events set up and at one point there was also a mini ride, which was a pleasant surprise. Great for all ages, would highly recommend if you’d like a history lesson about Lisbon, as well as a fun and interactive experience.

Great experience! Extremely well run. Technology is amazing and so is the staff. You’ll learn a ton and have so much fun. Well worth the price. Best to buy tickets in advance.

This museum is a journey more than anything else. Buy tickets in advance and do NOT be late. A tour (max 24 people) starts every 30 minutes, lasting just over 1,5 hours. Very interactive, interesting and 10/10 storytelling. Perfect age is 10-20 in my opinion, but still fun for adults too. This museum/experience was amazing! Only downsize is the price, it’s quite pricy.
