Super cute hotel, but it had a few fatal flaws that would prevent me from coming back. 1) There is no coffee or tea in the rooms. I need a cup to get me going in the morning before I shower or get dressed, so having to get fully ready before going down to breakfast to get coffee is quite an inconvenience. Plus, if you have to leave early before breakfast starts, you’re out of luck. 2) Every time we showered the bathroom floor flooded. Like, a full on lake of water. And yes, the shower door was completely closed. 3) The room was always hot, not matter what the temperature was set to, so we were sweating all night. The other members of our group had the same problem, some called the front desk but unfortunately there was no resolution. Problems aside, there were some things that I liked: the decor is very fun. The rooftop bar is beautiful, and the restaurant & breakfast buffet were both great. Oh, the location is also fantastic! I’d probably come back for the restaurant and bar, but just stay the night somewhere else.

An amazing stay for 10 nights in this funky boutique hotel in the heart of Lisbon. Our first night had us having cocktails on the beautifully decorated rooftop with breathtaking views. The hotel itself was immaculate and the beds were super comfy. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. This was an important trip for myself and my daughter and our first time in Europe and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you Mama!!

We didn’t stay at the hotel. We just went there for dinner. The place itself is in a very good location which is a short walk from the metro station. Loved the entire place and the view from the rooftop. Unfortunately we waited more than an hour for our food. Even though we were the first ones to arrive because our reservation was at 7pm. The restaurant got full easily and we were seated next to where the live band was and me and my friends almost couldn’t hear each other. The food was alright. Not amazing. But it was okay. I would say all in all, you can find better restaurant options with better service if you are willing to pay 30-40€ per person.

We stayed at Mama Shelter for 2 nights and overall we loved our stay. Super clean and comfy rooms and loved the design! We also really liked the location. It’s about 30mins walk to the centre but as we’ve been to Lisbon before we weren’t too bothered about seeing all the touristy sites and the location has lots of amazing restaurants/bars. Loses a star because I’m a dis-loyalty member and it felt really difficult to use my dis-loyalty discount as only one person in the restaurant could process the discount/free coffee. By the end of our stay we stopped even asking for the discount as it was taking so much time.

Just had the most amazing service thanks to Tanvir! Mama Shelter is one of my favorite places in Lisbon to go for a nice evening with good music, drinks and food. Please try the Apple Crumble. It’s just the best!

Stayed here for a couple of nights during a stay in Lisbon. We booked one of the small rooms which was fine for a short stay. Buffet breakfast was good. Rooftop bar was fab - we enjoyed a drink and views over to the river and castle. Especial thanks to Bea on reception who gave us some excellent recommendations of things to do and places to eat.

Stayed here for 3 nights in the Mama Small room, which is very small and I would advise a bigger room for two people. Lovely hotel overall, Mama have a good vibe going on. Great staff all round, lovely food and drinks. Brilliant rooftop bar. Really busy on Saturday night. Location means lots of walking up/down hills but that’s Lisbon 🤣

Excellent location right near Príncipe Real. The staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming at literally all hours of the day. The vibe is incredible and we particularly enjoyed the rooftop patio. The rooms are a little small for sure, but you don’t really spend much time in them because there is great nightlife!

I went for the first time to this restaurant. Expectations were high as it was recommended by a friend. While booking, there is no information regarding the fact that when you arrive, they will let you know you have about 2h to leave the table. This starts to be common in restaurants, even though usually the shifts are about 2:30. This system works if the restaurant has a proper and fast service that can allow it. This is not the case! We waited 45min to get our main dish served… The result of this was that without any explanation, while we were still being served the desert, they bring us the check (that we did not ask) and tell us we need to leave the table NOW because they need to seat the next shift. This is unacceptable, considering we were not informed of this at the booking time, and the service was slow! You are only welcome until you are making them money - after that, please leave asap… Regarding the restaurant, the food is overpriced for the quality. We paid 50€ per person for basic dishes. Looks great on instagram - but reality is otherwise.

Love the place, the room design, the ambiance, and it is super well located. Staff at the reception is awesome! Always very helpful. Good food at the restaurant. The only negative point to me (and this is not improving unfortunately) is the service during breakfast. Some of the restaurant staff (manager included) are not super friendly and the worst is the timing: breakfast closes at 10:30am and they don't let people take food or coffee after that time. They make noise when cleaning up while there is still people having breakfast, and the experience is bad at the end. During weekends, this is purely not acceptable. Or at least there is a way to communicate to customers. I have seen some customers getting hungry and almost in a fight with the staff. Really not the experience we want the have. This is too bad since the hotel is awesome!

Stayed here for 3 nights with a big group of people. We were all charged different prices and even the smallest rooms cost more than the bigger ones ... very confusing !! Beds and pillows were comfortable but the rooms were far too warm and when we asked the heating couldn't be turned down. There were no drawers or shelves for clothing, so we were living out of our suitcase, which I hate. Our room had a coffee machine, but not all the rooms for some reason. The coffee pods or milk was not replenished, so really, not much point in having machines in any rooms. There were no USB points to charge phones, laptops etc, which for a modern hotel was quite surprising and annoying. When we asked reception for bottles of water for our rooms, we were told to go to the restaurant which was absolutely heaving with parties and we could not get anywhere near the bar. We gave up in the end. I wouldn't stay here again and personally wouldn't recommend it to others.

We stayed for 3 night. Staff are brilliant. Service really good. They even surprised me with a small birthday cake which I wasn't expecting. Good breakfast, lovely ambience in the bar and restaurant. Quirky, unique and clean hotel. Location wise too pretty good. The lady who checked us in very polite and friendly. All in all great stay.

Generally good. But room cleanness needs to be improved especially the toilet. It had yellow stains on it. But its too late when I found this so didn’t bother to report to the staff. Other than this everything is good.

We stayed here for three nights in February. The service was outstanding from every person we interacted with during our stay. Especially, Ana at the front desk and Sergio at breakfast went above and beyond to help us, make us feel welcome, and give us excellent recommendations for activities during our stay in Lisbon. The room was on the small side but was very clean, comfortable, and perfectly adequate for our needs The quirky decor made it a unique place to stay. The pizza was delicious and our dinner at the restaurant was good, too. While the hotel is a bit far from the attractions we visited, multiple forms of public transportation were readily accessible and easy to use.

The hotel itself is super quirky, really unique. The first impressions at the front desk were really friendly, informative & helpful. The rest of the experience was consistent throughout. The bar & restaurant was the place to be on an evening, always something going on. The staff were second to none. It made our experience all the more special. Food was lovely, great variety of drinks. The room and public areas of the hotel were always really clean and tidy. The location is ideal, not even 5 minutes walk to the nearest metro, and links you to the train stations and other landmarks in Lisbon. Also, for festive visitors - the Winter Wonderland is also not even 5 minutes away. I can't fault it and will 100% stay again! Had an absolutely amazing time

I stayed at the Hotel Mama Shelter in Lisbon for 4 days and I had a great experience. The hotel is very lively and welcoming, with a colorful and quirky design. The staff is very friendly and helpful, always ready to assist you with anything you need. The only thing that I missed at the hotel was a coworking space, where I could work on my laptop and meet other professionals. I think that would be a great addition to the hotel, especially for digital nomads and business travelers. Other than that, It is a place where you can feel at home, have fun, and relax.

Tried this place again after their grand opening. Very cute venue, but missing some huge details that would make it worth your while. On my first trip, I had lunch. Not grate as described in a previous review. Last night I was there for bar service. I went to check out their wine list. Equally disappointing, especially for such a wine-rich country like Portugal. The poor waiter had no clue about what he was serving. He couldn’t even describe the handful of reds that are served by the glass without reading the bottles. Final assessment: fun decor and ambiance, subpar food and wine quality and service for the price point. Good luck!

Wonderful hotel in a great location and one of the best rooftops in Lisbon! Staff throughout the property are so kind and professional. Keep it up! Very comfortable rooms and well appointed. Environmentally conscious amenities. Come for business and/or pleasure. Great job, Accor! Get it, Mama Shelter!

Hands down the best restaurant I have been in a good while! Food is absolutely great, aesthetics are super cool – check the selfie mirrors! Vibe is awesome and loved the live music. Good value for money too (at least at the time I am writing this review). Regarding the rooftop, not the best view I’ve seen in a one but definitely well thought in terms of space and decorations, which makes the experience worthwhile. The food was okay – not as good as the restaurant’s

Super staff, hotel is well located. Breakfast are excellent. Great beds. Only the rooms are very small. We did not know where to put our luggage.

We loved our stay at mama shelter. All the design details and thoughtful amenities were a welcomed comfort. The food for dinner was delicious, cocktails were tasty and staff were mostly helpful. 4 stars out of 5 because the breakfast was a bit of a let down, especially for the price.

Located at the top of this hotel is an absolute oasis! This rooftop bar has a 360 degree view of Lisbon with a gorgeous decor to match. Bar opens at 5pm so you can get there in time to watch the sun set! Drinks were great and the staff are friendly - this is a must do when visiting Lisbon!

Surprise surprise ... It was Definitely a surprise ... I wasn't expecting this kind of reaction from my taste buds... It was magnificent ! The fresh ingredients ( pomegranate and crunchy lettuce ) made the foundation for these awesome mega crunchy goat cheese nuggets with an almond covering and all is seasoned with honey , olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Bam ! I took off previously with a pizza bread with some special butter and also a olive mixture that was simply great. I drank a couple of IPA beers ... And this is perhaps the only constructive feedback from me ... These guys need more diversity on the beers section. The place is very nice with a decoration that is a result of a mix of tendencies , the staff has a great mood (i was attended by Marta ). They have q rooftop open after 17:00 and the place has some DJ till 01:30. Overall.. definitely 4'5 out of 5!!

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant . The staff truly cares about your experience, especially many thanks to Guli, who took care of our table. she made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. The food is absolutely amazing Absolutely the best meal/experience we had while in Lisbon. Highly recommend! We will be back again.

I came in for breakfast and was given two options. The buffet or the Prix fix continental menu. Since I’m not a big breakfast eater, I opted for the 9€ continental breakfast. It comes with coffee of your choice, croissant, cheese, ham, jam, butter, a small baguette (which was perfect to make a sandwich out of) and a freshly squeezed glass of orange juice…. And for a treat at the end, a mini pastel de nata! This was perfection and a great deal. Service was great, friendly and, of course, the design is stunning and fun. Places like this can make your most miserable day turn into a happy one! Ahhh the Portuguese, they really do get things right.

We were here for our first night in Lisbon. The staff were warm and welcoming + great food and accommodations. Beautiful balcony with delicious food and drinks. The 'large' room was still on the small side but served our needs.

Mama Shelter Lisbon surpassed my expectations. Super cool place. Easily accessible by metro or on foot. Very comfy beds. Great shower pressure. Window that opened for fresh air. Nice rooftop bar and surprisingly good food in the restaurant. My only constructive feedback would be the lack of plug socket near the full length mirror which made doing your hair difficult. Great value. Highly recommended.

Nice hotel with very good facilities and rooftop bar. Clean and well equipped but service throughout was indifferent at best. When we booked we were supposed to get an upgrade if available and a welcome gift in the way of a fruit basket (as were advised by the front desk). Upgrades never mentioned so assume they were fully booked and the fruit basket never came, even though we followed up the next day. Service at downstairs bar and rooftop patio was minimal so we chose to eat and drink elsewhere.

Had an excellent stay at Mama Shelter! Best beds/pillows I’ve ever slept on… staff was nice and always around. The rooms were clean and had a nice vibe to them. The rooftop offers excellent views and great drinks!

Excellent location. The staff very friendly and helpful! Ali at the restaurant service was exceptional! Food at restaurant very good, breakfast also good but not as much as in two other Mama Shelter hotels that we have been before. Rooms very very small (we had a medium because there was no larger availability). In the room there was no mini fridge and a pair of slippers would be appreciated. Very good toiletries and nice shower. Also very clean room!
