Good food in a nice little pub/restaurant. It has a nice outdoor area as well for when the sun shines. The staff were nice and helpful. Good selection on the menu to suit all tastes. I do think each item was slightly on the expensive sode for what it was but most places have this issue at the present time. £8 for a small sesert with ice scoop of ice cream for example is a bit rich in my mind. Having said that the sticky toffee pudding was really delicious. Overall I would recommend it. The pizzas were especially good and would go back to try another one of these for sure. Good selection of wine and beers on tap so overall a great spot of luck/ dinner.

Beautiful food, amazing settings and great staff. Had to ask for fresh cutlery when things were taken away and new food brought... but they were always supper quick and professional when doing so, so only a minor detail that I'm sure is just a post covid oversight. Hats off to the chefs... it was well worth the one hr drive for my birthday meal.

Update May '22. Confit duck pizza, pork belly and beef cheek on polenta. Superb meal. Every bite a treat, cooked superbly, and served by friendly and attentive staff. This is a lovely restaurant with a good reputation and was busy the day we were in so have to forgive certain things. My food, the Sunday roast pork belly was really lovely. I couldn't fault my meal at all.

Excellent gastro pub restaurant. The service was very good and quick. The food was delicious. The beef and vegetables were perfect. Maybe more vegan and gluten free options would be good.

This place is relaxed and such a warm welcoming feel. The fire at the front bar end and the back restaurant end really makes it. Best bit, they allow dogs. We always ring ahead though to double check. Their fish and chips are the best around and at a pretty reasonable price.

UNIMPRESSED!! We had a dinner one night, this place is dirty. Too many flies! Food wasn’t good at all. Potato is very hard we can’t even chew it, chicken is too dry and fish cake is bland. Dessert is too big!

Staff were efficient but a smile would have been appreciated. Food was barely warm, heated plates may have helped. Overall disappointing - maybe something to do with it being a Monday evening.

Don't book on line or fill in the online request form . Better just to phone and book . Even if you have booked there are plenty of tables (although you'll be told they are "almost" fully booked and they need the table back in 90 minutes . So you better hurry up and order , eat and go. Not that busy mid week . Food is tasty enough but portion size is very small, especially some specials which cost £18 - £20 without sides! Too expensive for what you get .

A couple of months ago, we went with my family and due to health concerns, we wanted to sit outside. It was being refurbished, so manager David Porter gave us the upstairs space to ourselves and had the servers wear face masks. Food was great, service was excellent. Thank you to the team, very much appreciated

Lovely decorated building. Lady on the bar was very helpful with picking my drink. Nice relaxing experience after visiting Hilsborough Castle. Would definitely recommend!

Popped in after a walk this evening, it was very busy for a Sunday evening and we'd no reservation. The young waiter got us a great table in a corner at the end of the bar. It was pretty cozy but great for privacy and less noise too. Both our main courses were excellent, lasagne and chicken parmigiana, the waiter was knowledgeable enough to explain the ingredients of it. We didn't have starter or dessert this time but I'll be back with my partner sometime for a full on treat. Despite the place being very busy we didn't feel ignored or rushed either, a good atmosphere. Thanks.

Food and service amazing ! Cocktails good too. The spicy prawn pizza was delish tho could’ve been spicier. My family had the lamb, wings, plaice, chowder and kids burger and absolutely everything was divine. Wholely recommend!

First visit with my brother and his fiancee and we were all impressed. Sunday afternoon, not too busy. Service was excellent and our food was served quickly. Great atmosphere, dog friendly pub. Service was very good, all the staff who looked after us were pleasant. Overall a great place.

I have been to the Parson's Nose for many years but the meal I had recently was one of the best. All three courses were superb, all dishes went back cleared, compliments to the chef. Service was quick and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly

Called in for some lunch on my break from working hoping for good food and quick service and I wasn’t disappointed. Pizza, wings, fries, 2 desserts and 2 coffees all done in 50 mins. The food was really good and the service from our waiter was excellent. Would recommend.

Absolutely amazing service and food. Highly recommend the vegetarian chestnut & pumpkin roast, with all the trimmings! We will definitely be back with all the family. Thank you to our particularly lovely & charismatic waiter who paid great attention to detail.

Went there for a Christmas lunch with business colleagues. This is a lovely pub and restaurant located in the middle of beautiful Hillsborough. The menu offered a great selection for everyone and service was very helpful and pleasant. Food was very good considering it was a very busy time on Christmas week, so that was excellent, and everyone was well pleased with the lunch.

Love everything about this place. Couldn’t resist the Sunday roast beef - and was not disappointed! We had to ask for some extra gravy but the roast was all round excellent! Sticky toffee was also up there with the best!
