Caribbean food should be comforting, home cooked in an aged pan oozing flavour and memories with smells that draw you in. Rad's has all that, and more. Excellent service with a smile. Chatty, friendly, but not over friendly as you wait for your food. Large portions of mutto and jerk chicken that you want to devour. Moist meat, flavoursome rice and peas and a dumpling from heaven. Crisp outer, moist, soft inner. Perfect for dipping in the spicy gravy that envelopes the meat. To top it all they even showed us where the marina was so we could enjoy in the sun. Awesome service. Excellent value and and a must.

Had heard good things about Rad's and finally made the trip on a Friday lunch time. I'd heard it can get very busy at lunch during the week so I went around 11:30am and there were only a few people in the queue so a good time to come. Ordered the curry mutton lunch box which comes with rice and peas, coleslaw and potato salad, and I also ordered fried plantain on the side. The portion is very generous and definitely good value for the price (paid around £10 total). The food tastes even better, all of it was absolutely delicious and I finished it off quickly. My friend got the beef patties and fritters and said they were also both very tasty. It's in a very convenient spot, just round the corner from Cutting Room Square. I think they have indoor seating but this wasn't open when we went so we ate in the square. It's quite unassuming though, like a hole in the wall, but the lady taking orders was lovely and food came out quickly. Would definitely like to come back and try the other dishes, especially the jerk chicken and patties.

Have got to say this is one of the best mutton meals I’ve had in a long time. The deal comes with curried mutton, cabbage and carrots, coleslaw and potato salad with some beautiful rice and peas. Great price and the service was impeccable! Enjoy guys

Never been here before so asked the lovely guy for a recommendation. He offered service with a smile and I ended up getting stewed chicken with everything and a side of plantain. Beautiful, the chicken just fell apart 😍 will definitely be back!

Good Jamaican food, including saltfish. It is quite popular so there's a queue usually, but the wait is not long. Friendly service.

I've always had a great meal from here, I'd recommend anything as everything is delicious! We've had it all, though my favourite is the stew chicken! The staff are really friendly and cheerful. Great value for money, especially at lunchtimes. The portions are so big sometimes I can save some for dinner!

Had jerk chicken meal as did my wife, Only negative was that it was meant to be spicy and it wasn't, but that's not something to get fussed about, Service is friendly, bit of a wait because of a queue but that's a good sign, Eventually got our meals and wandered over to the marina, snd got stuck in, Chicken was good, but the star of the show is the rice! Really good 👍 We'll definitely be going back again. Thanks guys.

Rad's has a great menu including the most delicious jerk chicken! Served with rice and beans, coleslaw, potato salad and more. You'll get friendly service and good size portions. The prices are great too. If you're lucky, youll be able to pick up some tasty flapjack to follow your meal Well worth a visit. I highly recommend 👌

Customer service was great but the food was awful. Me and my friend heard good things about this place so decided to give it a go. I had the curry chicken with white rice and some bbq wings. I can honestly say it was the most tasteless Caribbean food I’ve ever eaten and reminded me of a cheap chicken curry ready meal you can buy from the supermarket. The rice wasn’t cooked either as it was hard. On to the wings, they literally tasted like soggy thyme flavoured wings with the smallest hint of bbq sauce. Since when are jerk bbq wings so soggy? There was no way that any of that food was seasoned properly or left to marinate for long enough. My friend got the jerk chicken meal and also bought a curry mutton meal. The mutton was so watery and again tasteless like it had been barely seasoned. His jerk chicken meal was again wet and soggy with no flavour whatsoever. Looked like it had been rubbed with half a tea spoon of jerk marinade and cooked straight away in boiled water! I really don’t understand how it can have so many rave reviews and for someone who loves yard food, being half Jamaican, I was so disappointed, and for 3 meals with some wings totalling £40 I think that’s a massive rip off, the only positive I can say is that they are generous with the amount of food they give you but the quality of the food is just not acceptable. Maybe we caught them on an off day but we won’t be spending our money there again.

Good lunch deal - £6 for a generous helping of chosen dish + rice + veg + potato salad + coleslaw. All of which went down a treat. Service is amazing! The guy in there will put a smile on your face

Classic case of the neighborhood it knowing/appreciating the gem it has. They are the friendliest people and while I was Disappointing that they didn’t have oxtail (they gave a great explanation as to why), their food taste like my grandma’s cooking. Absolutely worth it.

Absolutely amazing food. If you go between 11am-3pm on a weekday there's an amazing value meal deal. Service was quick and the people who served us were very friendly. Definitely would recommend this place.

This place is fantastic, friendly staff and most importantly the food is unreal. If you’re on the move in Manchester and looking for some great food this is the place to come.

Rice was bland Food wasn't the tastiest either Never known a carribbean to ask whether you want the meal spicy or hot, and then put hot sauce on the meal. Wouldn't call this authentic carribbean food. Not great

Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Lots of food choices and preferences for spicy levels. Very well seasoned tender jerk chicken served with kidney beans rice, steamed fresh veg, coleslaw and creamy potatoes. Extremely worth the price! Also loved being able to see the posters on the wall in the store for upcoming gigs and musical concerts. Have returned many times and will definitely go back again!! Highly recommended!

Excellent ‘hole in the wall’ style takeaway serving Caribbean / jerk chicken style food. My only concern is that I suspect that they use too much salt for my liking.

Amazing food and even better service! We had some jerk chicken, rice, coleslaw, plantains and a dumpling, and it was all so good. I’d give them 10 stars if I could!!!

The food is always absolutely banging, and the portion sizes are incredibly generous. Can't fault it at all. My fav spot to go if I want to grab something for lunch.

Best Jerk Chicken in all Manchester. Won’t find a better quality Caribbean food anywhere in greater Manchester, and you’ll also benefit from low prices. The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. I make at least 2 trips a week!

No frills Jamaican home cooking with friendly owners. Popular lunch takeout spot for the local blue and white collar workers alike. No seating, takeout only.

Walked in for the first time and was welcomed by friendly service with lots of help choosing what to order, their recommendations were great, and a meal deal with jerk chicken was delicious. Lovely friendly service, and great food!

The guys here are great, talk you through the menu if needed so you get the best for you. £9 meal is really good portion size. Best takeaway I've ever had.

Wow 🤩 !! Came across this place by complete accident. I ordered a mutton curry meal which was served with rice & peas, coleslaw, potato salad and veg and got some jerk chicken too. By far the best Caribbean meal I’ve had in my life and I’m 45! I’ve tried many places and the food here is simply amazing. Real flavours and cooked to perfection. This will be my go to place from now on. 10/10 A+++
