Very good lunch at Moor Hall restaurant. Enjoyed the experience of walking through the gardens (where ingredients are grown) and through the kitchen to see how the food is prepared. The food was fantastic, start to finish, would recommend as a treat out. There are other 2 Michelin star places in the north west that I'd probably say are better value but nonetheless a fantastic meal!

We had Sunday lunch at the Barn a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been meaning to sing their praises since then. I’d booked months before and unexpectedly had an extra 2 in the party, they managed to alter the booking to 6 very close to the event and I am so grateful, it was wonderful! The food and the surroundings were amazing and we loved the extras that we were given to try. The service was efficient, friendly and full of smiles. Can’t wait to go back. Go!

Genuinely, the most amazing place we have had the pleasure to dine! We got to meet the Chef-Patron Mark Birchall while touring the kitchen, we sampled some delicious cuisine. Unreal. It was a first experience for us but one we be we will always remember. The service, Food & Wine tasting was out of this world!

This place is literally the best restaurant experience we have ever had. We’ve eaten at some pretty nice places including 5 other Michelin star restaurants and this tops them all. We were given a tour of the kitchen gardens and walked through the calm and clean kitchen where we met Mark for a quick chat. First class experience from start to finish! It’s a beautiful setting, the grounds, the buildings, the interior. The food was just impeccable! The sommelier was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I’d go back in a heartbeat!

The BEST dining experience I have ever had! My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. All of the employees were friendly, professional and had excellent customer service skills. The precision of serving each course was faultless. The food was a whole sensory experience. The amount of experience and detail that went into each menu item was very much appreciated and discussed in detail. The atmosphere was elegant and romantic. If you want a one of a kind dining experience and enjoy trying different foods then I highly recommend The Moor Hall Restaurant.

Tasting experience was way over priced. Out of the 10 dishes or so that we were served, only a couple were nice. Most of them I couldn’t eat. (Thankfully) because whatever we did eat there….we both ended up with food poisoning symptoms.

For our wedding anniversary we decided to treat ourselves to a night at Moor Hall. Stayed overnight in the Damson Suite and dined on the taster menu in the main restaurant. The entire experience was delightful. From the moment we arrived the staff were polite and attentive without being intrusive. The Damson suite was so luxurious and we were lucky enough to also be gifted a complimentary Moor Hall Easter egg. We sampled the complimentary afternoon tea and cake in the bar which was delicious and very relaxing sat in the vintage decor of the bar area. After freshening up in the huge free standing bath we finally began our taster menu journey in the bar area. After a couple of small bite courses we were taken through to the main restaurant which is a delightful transition from the traditional decor into the sleek modern ambience of the main restaurant. After a brief visit to the kitchen area we were seated at our table with clear views of the lake through the full height windows. What followed was nothing short of culinary wizardry. 17 or 18 courses of THE MOST unbelievable flavour-packed dishes I’ve ever the pleasure to eat. Not a single course dipped in quality. Mark Birchall is quite simply a genius! We finished up the evening back in the bar area and literally could barely finish the array of desserts we were offered we were that satisfied. The following morning at breakfast the food quality remained top notch as cold & hot courses were delivered with same polite friendly attentiveness that runs through every single member of staff. To put the final touch on what had already been a magical experience we were gifted two savoury pear custard “cruffins” as a farewell gift. 5 stars doesn’t seem enough to convey how wonderful our stay at Moor Hall really was.

First off let me say I can't believe people have left poor reviews gobsmacked. Our second time there tonight and once again our minds are blown by the food .experience. staff can't fault a thing .yes pricey £750 for 2 off us to worth every penny. Only way to explain it is its like having orgasm of flavour in your mouth .I hate vets full stop but ate everything. Don't know what mark does to them but it works for me can't wait to go back .and would like to say a very big thank you to Mark and the team made our 17th wedding anniversary even more special. Would give 10 stars if I could ❤️❤️❤️

So good to be dining here again where the beer choice is going from strength to strength. There is now a house lager brewed in collaboration with North Brew and an American pale ale from Duration in Norfolk to name just two. Looking at the garden there may well be a cider or Perry on the drinks menu next year❓We can only hope 🤞

"Moor Hall" is the best restaurant in England. I cannot argue with that statement. Obviously, I've not been to ALL restaurants in England, but I have been to many. The experience from start to finish was immaculate. Upon our arrival, we were sat down for some drinks and treats, with the waiters explaining each in detail, but not too much as to be intrusive. We were then walked through the garden, being shown where and what they grow there, and how it is incorporated into the food that is prepared by Mark and his team. From the garden, we were taken through the kitchen for a tour, being given an introduction on how everything works and who works on what. Before being taken to our table, we were introduced to and presented with a treat from Mark himself. After sitting down, everything just got better and better. I don't want to spoil all the surprises of the restaurant, but each and every course complimented the last, and every detail was perfectly presented. We ended our experience with coffee and tea and the strong notion that we will be back! Thanks to Mark and all the staff at Moor Hall.

I haven't seen a bad review of the restaurant at Moor Hall and you will not find one here. Is it *the* best restaurant I've ever visited? I've though hard about this and I think it's a pointless question. There are excellent restaurants - and this is clearly one of them - is one "better" than the others? Different from , yes, better than? I don't know. I think this notion of "The Best" has an awful lot to do with competitive TV shows and ignores the fact that the real world is a complicated place in which not everything can be ranked on a linear scale. But I digress. You want to know if you should go, otherwise you wouldn't waste your time reading this. The answer is yes. I have three pieces of advice: Firstly, ignore the numbers. Just let the bill form and pay it without examining it. Later on you can worry about paying it off and work out how long it will be before you can afford to come back again (and you will want to). Secondly, savour every single moment of the experience. The whole thing is carefully choreographed around you to give you the most amazing food and wine. Thirdly: cheese room. You must have the cheese with a glass of Burgundy. Sacrifice whatever sweet things you must in order to get the cheeses. The staff are lovely, the setting is delightful, the food and the wine are beyond compare - and that's the reason that I cannot say that it is "The Best".

Great all round, went here for the taster menu with friends. It's a 2 star Michelin restaurant so you probably aren't going here based on my Google review but the experience was first class. Food was amazing.

The most incredible culinary experience. Everything about this restaurant (and its rooms) was exemplary. No, it’s not cheap but if you want one of the best ‘foodie’ experiences of your life it’s worth every penny. On top of the food, the service, atmosphere and wine were also so good - bravo Mark Birchall and the team, what a place!

Fantastic provenance Taster menu experience, with excellent service and a wonderful location and setting. We came here with high expectations after being told amazing things about the food, and we were not disappointed. The tour of the chef's garden and kitchen sets the tone, and then the staff flawlessly deliver it course by course. We were really impressed with the artistry and skill you could see went into every single plate, and the marriage of flavours and textures was like a gastronomic journey. If you are serious about food, and love to try new and inventive creations - this is the place for you.

Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life. We had the shorter lunch tasting menu which essentially skips the fish courses… but there is still more than enough food. The duck main course the standout dish (along with the petit forts) but it was all faultless. Great wine pairing too

Our lunchtime visit to Moor Hall was delightful, the standards of service are exceptional and the food is absolutely wonderful. The attention to detail by all the staff is absolute and the result is an unforgettable experience. We enjoyed a menu created to present and enhance the many home grown delights from the extensive gardens with all the other very carefully selected ingredients which made for an unforgettable culinary experience which was accentuated by the superb selection of wines to accompany each mouthwatering course. Thank you to all the staff at Moor Hall who made our visit an absolutely unforgettable experience.

One of my best dining experience in the UK. Nice place, creative cuisine with delicate tastes and stunning textures based on locally sourced ingredients. Exquisite service, attention to details but not too much around you. Great for fish, great for meat and great for wines. Thanks for this wonderful afternoon!

We try to stay here once a year as a special occasion. We book the best suite, the full tasting menu with wine pairings and while it isn't cheap - you feel like you got your moneys worth. The staff are extremely attentive and are knowledgeable about every aspect of the experience. The menu is focused on local sourced produce where their own gardens aren't able to deliver - which they usually do. If you are looking for a great night with great food and pair that with great wine and cheese - you *need* to go here. Hands down the best place I have visited and I include Singapore and Monaco in that. Having this on my doorstep is ... Crazy.

Booking required. Wonderfully situated in its own grounds. Plenty of car parking. There are two eateries, restaurant and barn. Ate in the barn. There is also outdoor seating for drinks, if you wish and weather permitting. Lift to restaurant if required. Wonderful dining experience. Not noisy. Well laid out, glasses and cutlery very clean and linen napkins, all add to this experience. 3 course set menu, food was delicious and first class. Staff polite and attentive. I cannot praise highly enough.

An absolute gem from arrival to the tasting breakfast. We celebrated my wife’s 70th birthday there and can honestly say that the experience couldn’t have been bettered. The food is exquisite and the accommodation top notch. Fascinating to see such a superb kitchen at work.Discrete and marvellous staff. We’ll be back!

Amazing place with second-to-none food and service. Our room was close to the road, so we experienced traffic noise in the early hours, still immaculately clean and super stylish and would definitely return.

Incredible. The food was mind blowing and the staff were absolutely brilliant. It’s not just food, it’s an experience from start to finish. The attention to detail is second to none and you can tell how much thought has gone into each dish. They accommodated our plant-based requests and we are very thankful as it meant we got to experience this wonderful restaurant. You have to go!

Exceptional in every aspect. Lovely bedrooms, grounds, breakfast, and evening meal as good as l'Enclume as they both very comparable style 😋 and the little muffins they give when you check out are out of this world. It may be expensive but when you look at the whole set up, you get what you pay for.

Excellent restaurant, one of my favourite ones. The English breakfast was very tasty, very big and the meats were well barbecued! I recommend getting the beetroot meringue whipped goat's curd, excellent taste, worth the 5 Michellin Stars! We also got the Sladesdown Guinea Hen with crushed potatoes and salmon with salami and a lot... a lot of sashimi! We were a table of 12, so... perfect restaurant for us!

Its a 2 star restaurant so yes, the food was amazing. But Mark Birchall is a genius, because it's the overall experience that blows you away. Amazing garden tour, kitchen tour, complimentary pie and cake on arrival, rooms to die for, so many snacks grabbing your attention, a fabulous somelier adding some additional theatre to the night, great food, the tartar and monkfish were dishes of the night. To top it off, we were even sent home with cakes. It's not cheap. But it's worth every penny. The attention to detail is second to none. A great way to celebrate our 34th anniversary. Thank you Moor Hall. You did not disappoint!

Dined here to celebrate our anniversary & what an awesome experience. Every detail was on point - service, venue & especially the food. Lovely to be shown the manicured garden, where much of the produce is incorporated into the menu, followed by a fascinating view of the working kitchen ( so calm & organised) The table service was like a choreographed ballet - superb! Knowledgeable staff on every element of the menu. Just WOW! Worth every penny.
