They have done a magnificent job of reorganising car parking in the square. The the shops however are huge let down, borderline third-world with one or two exceptions.

Great mix of shops in one area, which is fantastic. Though parking is like deathrace 2000 🙂

In spite of the restricted parking, we always manage to find a space in the central car park. There's a wide variety of useful shops, all situated around the central square and all within easy access. Pay particular attention to the patisseries and food shops for a special treat.

After years of never being able to park there, you can now always get a space. Unfortunately this isn't because of the new car park, this is because it's got no decent shops.

Excellent variety of shops......and with two banks within easy walking distance....and a couple of supermarkets, too! Might make Maghull our "Go to" place for general shopping.

I mainly go to Central Square to do all my banking needs as that's the closest one but there's also a good variety of different shops

A good shopping centre with a good selection of shops including post office, couple of butchers, bakers, chemist Missing a fruit & veg shop although Morrisons is as across road. Good to see a couple of independent coffee shoos/ cafes are there too

Love the shops there but 2 hrs parking is not enough if meeting friends for coffee and shopping. Coffee, food shopping, trying on clothes & visiting charity shops takes more than 2 hrs.

Excellent for shopping. Parking not always easy to find a space.

Don't visit Central Square anymore & haven't for years because I don't want to risk being fined. I've heard too many horror stories of fines being handed out for the slightest thing. I shop elsewhere now.

The car park reconfiguration has made this a viable place to come and shop. I basically only come here for the Pound Bakery! The shops are standard selection however Callaghans Butchers is outstanding and their made to measure sandwiches are fantastic! Just get there early for a decent selection 👍

There's limited real shops in the square these days. It's struggling, not like it was 20/30 years ago. Couple of shops vacant, a fee charity shops, tow butchers who actually sell food, but not .Any more traditional shop, the rest is a mix of coffee shops newsagent a funeral parlour and estate agent. The car park has been e pandey which is much better, especially since they altered the road markings and the way cars entered and excited the central cap parking area. In summer and winter the upper canopy is adorned with either christmas lights or changing baskets

All shops are good! Various shops including dress, butchers, post office, home bargain, chemist's and cafes.

Stopped in my bus waiting on a feeder coach. No appealing hot food outlets had to get a sandwich from home bargains (life saver).

  • 3/5 Ian C. 1 year ago on Google
Nicer layout for the car park. They will be charging to park soon. Shops are a bit dull. Why do we need two Home Bargains in Maghull?

  • 5/5 Teresa G. 1 year ago on Google

I've had a drink in here with my wife on a Friday. It was a really good atmosphere, chilled and relaxed. Returned here a few days later for a coffee , a pork pie& chorizo pie. The pies were really tasty, would highly recommend a visit!

Bought what I needed. Fairly full car park but no waiting for a space. As usual, parking spaces narrow. Sometimes accidentally meet former neighbours and I know most of the staff in the shops as I lived in the area for 43yrsbecsuse I worked in Liverpool but my heart was in the village, now town, where my father my brother and I were born and I am back there now, having been home several times a month throughout the years. The loss of Woolworth which becsme B&M now gone were disastrous but Home Bargains is a reasonable replacement. There is still 1 bank and a Post Office, handy

Parking here can be stressful, there's always a constant flow of incoming traffic and the new layout of the bays are sometimes differcult to park in, many people have also been fined for overstaying the alloted time, also pedestrians have a habit of walking around the car park oblivious of the moving traffic, they should be fined for not using the paving area, I feel someone will be injured at some point in the future.
