A lovely little hidden gem. A slight walk over a slate bridge and up some slate steps brings you to this lovely old ruin. No entry fees, you can just go in and climb the narrow stairs to the top of the tower. A great place for a picnic with tremendous views. Highly recommended.

A hidden gem, beautiful views from the castle ruins, just outside the village, a short walk from the car park through a wooded area. Dog friendly as well. Can be seen from the main road as you drive by but it can be easily missed which would be a shame.

Small ruin of a tower, you can go inside for free and even climb to the top for nice view of the two lakes and mountains around. There is a short walk from the parking on the forest path which is also beautiful.

10 minutes from car park. Fairly steep climb and can be slippery if wet. Marvelous views down lake and up valley. Interesting 13th Cent tower and other remains. Recommended

Lovely little wall up through the woods. Only the tower is still standing but you can see the remains of walls from other buildings. The views p to Snowdonia are stunning too.

I really liked the fact that it is not so touristic...and there is no major recent intervention in its structure. Yet it is very clean, made me the most time travel in the past (different from the feeling experienced among other castles visited). It is free to visit, and there is 5 minutes of a nice forest walk from the main street. It is not very well signed, so you can easily miss it !

Really nice castle with an amazing view over the sea, Llanberis and the mountains around. A perfect spot for a Picknick or just a nice walk. If you have your stay in Llanberis you have an 20 minute walk to the castle. In this case Google Maps is not right, you don’t have to walk the whole track at the road, you can walk at the sea. (It is more nice) Just follow it, the path does a right turn, then you enter at the parking spot. If you are at the parking spot cross the road and enter the woods. After 5-10 Minutes you will be at the castle. One negative thing, you can’t take your dog with to the castle, the stairs are very narrow. The same is for small kids who are not safe on their feet. In the end, definitely a walk worth!

A nice old castle. A bit of a walk uphill over rough terrain from the car park, which was frustratingly expensive (£6.50 for the whole day, but no options for just an hour or two). Nice views from the top.

👍👍 Busy spot. Great experience for family of all ages. Worth paying for the train ride towards Snowdown. Highlight of out visit to North Wales. Book on line as I doubt in the peak times you could turn up and get a ticket.
