Absolutely shocking never have i had this before food was stone cold not one meal came out together as they were waiting for chips to be cooked kids meal was missing the side and only had around 7 chips to each plate 10 mins after the 3rd meal came out the last meal arrive again freezing….kids plate was still dirty, Not a single table clear to sit down had to clean and move all out selves best of all there was more tables empty than there was full!! Also deserts were a joke waited over 20 mins for plain vanilla ice cream for it to come out melted!!! Disgusting won’t be coming back any time soon

Shocking service. Got there just before 2 and ordered at the bar. 30 minutes later still no food so we asked one of the people working there where our food was. She eventually came over and said sorry but they only had one cook working and they were very busy. I looked around where there was no one at all near us (see photo) and I said how is this busy. She said very sneakily actually they were busy as they had 8 table being served on the other side. I said even so if you were a chef down someone should have said when we were ordering so we knew to expect a delay and she said she had only just found out. She offered us a free dessert and we said no as we wouldn't have time and she said "fine" and stormed off. The started finally came after 40 minutes and was somehow over cooked. The woman did actually apologise to us for the way she spoke to us and for the delay. The main came 10 mins later and was ok but by this time we wanted to leave. when we did leave we walked past the woman and she blanked us. Looking at the reviews I will probably get a reply saying they will speak to their staff or they will say they already addressed this by offering a free dessert. either way it doesn't matter we wont be back and neither will half the people who have been ther.

Bakers Dozen hungry horse....... i think its called the hungry horse because you wait forever for your food. ordered 3 x meals chicken & chips, fish & chips and scampi & chips...... we waited over an hour for the food to come out, the scampi wasn't cooked and the fish smelled funny my wife didn't eat it. we looked around and it seemed no-one in there was actually eating everyone was waiting for food. Really disappointed because this place is right on my doorstep so really wanted to like it but I definitely won't be coming back. The manager did refund us for my wife's fish meal. Edit in response to the response from the owner. Thenkyou for reaching out to try and resolve the issue and asking me to call you. The issue we had with the meal had already been resolved by the manager ( blonde lady with glasses) she was very helpful and understanding of the issue and offered a refund on the meal. We were not wanting a refund and would of had something else but the fact we waited an hour for the fish and chips to be cooked we didn't want to wait for another hour so decided to take the refund. So there was really no need to call you. All the staff were great especially the manager and dealt with the problem.

Quietish, not dead but just comfortably slow. Food was excellent. Service good and staff pleasant. Do not get the crown of burgers unless you can eat for England !

This green king pub/restraunt on switch island retail park I by far the most opulent 'Greens' that I have visited so far. The entire venue was sparkling so it was clear that there was a very effective cleaning schedule going on. I had the vegan fish and chips which arrived promptly after ordering and was just enough to fill me up. This venue is on a trading park so the view outside is pretty grim but that is more than compensated for by the decor inside. They seem to have gone for a Victorian carnival atmosphere with use of deep reds and soothing greens aplenty. They have struck the balance really well making it very tasteful.

Place was empty when we walked in, which we thought was good initially as we thought we would be served fast. We sat down and the tables were sticky the booth seats the material had peeled off. As we were hungry we just thought we would see what the food was like. We started with drinks, there was no hot drinks being served, because the machine wasn't working and they didn't have any mugs 🤔 We decided to order a soft drink, we could have a soft drink but there was no ice 🤦‍♀️ We ordered the food, they had everything in stock 🙌 Our breakfast came, sausages didn't look cooked, we must have had 2 teaspoons of beans (if we were lucky), toast was missing from mine and my partner's breakfast and my daughter was having scrambled egg, cheese and beans on toast and she got scrambled egg on toast 😮

First rating I gave was 5 stars as couldn't fault it. Yesterday however was a disaster, ordered half a roast chicken, thought it looked a bit odd as I have never been served roast chicken without Crispy skin. First bite was stone cold tested it with my finger and the whole chicken was ice cold. The waitress couldn't be more apologetic even though it has nothing to do with her . She gave me back 9 pound even though the meal is 11 pound on the menu. I was offered another main course for free so ordered a burger , my partner had finished his meal there was nobody left in the pub ordering food they'd all been and gone , 25 minutes later still no burger ( it didn't even take 25 minutes for are main course to come out when the place was busy ) 30 mins gone I felt sick now and not a soul came over . I jst got up left and went to mcdonalds instead.

A place we go to very often when out for something to eat and is usually up to standard! Unfortunately, today let us down. We arrived at 4pm and it wasn't overly busy. The server came to let us know that there was only one fryer working and there was no fish on the menu. We ordered through the app and ordered 2 x burger meals and drinks. Within 15 mins, we were told the kitchen had no burger baps and were awaiting the delivery. We were told we could be refunded by the nice lady trying to handle the situation. I would have preferred to have been told on arrival no orders were being taken as there were multiple people cancelling orders and being told payment would be refunded within 2 days. An unpleasant experience, paying the cost of x2 meals in one day all because of an unreliable, limited staffed restaurant. Went elsewhere where the service was much better!

The staff is usually very friendly and nice. Unfortunately they have been having issues with the kitchen staff, the food is always late and not really nice. Even for Pub food it's pricy but not nice so not really worth it. It has a boozer atmosphere which is not what you'd expect from the franchise.

A friend and I called in for lunch and we got a really nice welcome from the ladies. Lots to choose from on the menu but we decided on the steak pies with chips, jug of gravy and peas and was presently surprised when it turned out they were part of the 2 meals for £11.49. When the food arrived it was hot and looked good and tasted even better. The pie took up half the plate with nice Chucky chips, jug of gravy which wasn't needed as the pie was full of chunky tasty beef with loads of gravy and the pie crust was crispy. We really enjoyed it and when the plates where collected we were asked if she could temp us with a desert but we couldn't fit it in. There was no rush for us to leave and we sat for another half hour before we left and the staff wished us well and hoped to see us again and we will be back definitely 😀

Worn out venue, worn out food The Bakers Dozen in Aintrees Switch Island retail park Liverpool, a possible stop of point before hitting the motorways. An afternoon visit, we tried there offers menu with drinks • Chicken New Yorker • Lasagne • Chocolate fudge ☆ Prime Score Chart QUALITY: It goes without saying you get what you paid for, a sad mixture of frozen chips deep fried along with pale frozen onion rings to match in both plates & poor quality meat (chicken) masked by its NY sauce that lacks any consistency in flavour other than bottle ready. ⭐️⭐️ VALUE: Not to say its all bad, your wallet may just thank you, cheap but not cheerful, you could bring the family here & be OK with what you get for the buck across the menu & the standards are not different in peak time neither but dont be shy to ask for a food guarantee leading to a refunds. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ TASTE: Oh dear, this isn't the first time at the bakers dozen, there is no plan B or much to say. the food is bland & void of any real flavours funless you love sauce as you will find this traditional techniques mask the main highlight of your plate with the hope you won't notice. ⭐️⭐️ CONSISTENCY: We will give it to them here they are definitely consistent with there plates at any time of day including peak times but this can also be said for its poor show in quality. ⭐️⭐️ DESSERTS: Unlike the mains the sweet was better not by much, an off the selve Chocolate fudge cake near costco standard, perked us up as the end was in sight, cake always saves the day ish ⭐️⭐️ Let's be honest, this venue has seen better days & was given a better rating in days past but its spent to long here & is in much need of seasoning both in the plate & the venue. So I want to preface this by saying the staff on shift tonight were incredibly apologetic and honestly couldn't have done more and I don't hold fault with them but honestly this pub/restaurant has gone down the pan lately. We waited an 1hr 15 for food and when it came my burger looked like it had been cooking for the entire time. It was so burnt I could lift it and tap it on my plate. The staff on shift looked so disheartened at the number of complaints they'd had about the wait for food I didn't want to complain so I thought I'll just take the burger off and have a bacon and cheese barm with chips.. however there was something odd on my plate.... the remains of what I presume was a previous customers chicken bones. It put me off the whole meal so I sent it back and got a refund. The manager (who wasnt on shift at the time) there clearly needs to get their pub under control. There was 3 staff running the whole pub including the kitchen the bar serving food and cleaning tables and it was just too much for them to handle. It'll be a long while before I attempt this place again. I hope the manager can turn this place around because it used to be a decent pub. Such a shame.

Went here for a quick meal for my dads birthday, mum got the steak sizzler which she asked for well done however the steak was red when she cut into it with blood still on top. I had a chicken burger and haven’t felt right since so I’m pretty sure it wasn’t cooked completely. Manageress wasn’t very attentive when we sent my mums meal back she just reheated it and sent it back out, she also sat on her phone in the corner whilst the two waitresses were run off their feet. Really wouldn’t go here again, has definitely gone down hill

Dirty table when we came in with children but was empty. Chicken breasts pre cooked an left to keep warm ( I work with fresh chicken everyday) all brought out separately only thing fresh was the chips a 45 minute wait for not even fresh food an not even a busy at the time we were there. Would avoid like the plague if you want to keep a healthy stomach don’t eat here!!!!! Even left without the kids deserts which didn’t get brought out

I went here yesterday with my mum and brother. The queue to order was quite long and so I ordered on the app. Despite being really busy, our drinks and food arrived really quickly! The two guys who served us were really friendly and attentive and we couldn’t fault anything about our meals! Great service! Thank you!

Had an amazing experience in here this evening. I’d read a lot of negative reviews before visiting, but gave it a shot anyhow as it was close to where I was shopping.I was shocked at how different it was to what I’d read. It was spotless, staff were friendly and eager. Had a lovely chat with the manager Dan about the plans for the turn around of the pub under the new management and the new staff. He was more than happy to assist us, recommending his favourite horse-shoe homer dessert. The food was great and the atmosphere was lovely. I will definitely be returning again soon with my girl-friends for some cocktails!

This pub has serious problem which is evident from the way the staff look and act, they all seem very young and inexperienced.. and demoralised. I've always had decent food when I've been there but the last few visits has been mediocre to say the least. We had steaks last visit and all the meal was only just warm.. if it had been chicken or pork it would have went straight back. I hope the pub gets back on track as it has always been a decent place to go for a quick tasty meal at reasonable price.

Had a baked potato had to send it back as it was warm. The salad was just leaves. The waitress changed my meal and made the salad a bit more exciting. The place is very uninviting and could do with a complete overhaul

Staff were great! Very friendly and were busy as there was a large group here at the same time, kept us up to date with when our food would be served etc. Food still came out in a timely manner. Everyone's food was correct and tasty.

We popped in for a lunch after a bit of shopping and ordered a burger and a curry. The food was really nice and excellent value, but what made the experience even better was the very helpful and friendly staff serving us. One lady in particular called Laura who went above and beyond, always smiling and nothing was too much of a problem. Will definitely visit again

As Hungry Horse chains go this one is okay, the staff are really friendly and helpful which gives it a plus star, the food doesn't exactly wow though which is a shame, and a lot of items just don't seem to be available currently so minus a star. Recommend using the Greene King app to see what you can and can't order. Convenient and well priced.

Good food, great service. Could do with a make over on furnishings. Easy parking and access fir disabled. Close to shops, cinema and bowling alley.

Went mid afternoon on Valentines day expecting it to be quite chaotic but was atmosphere was great and food times were excellent, have been to other hungry horse pubs and ordered similar food but this was much better! Great value for money. My first time going in a long time but will definitely be returning soon!

Great Hungry Horse not as nice as the Phantom Winger in Preston but it's up there pretty average pub waiting time. Meals take 15-20 mins to come out.

Dated, tired and even the food couldn't be bothered. Definately not the best Hungry Horse experience. Threadbare carpets, seating that needs reupholstering.... Won't be ba k for a long time

Main meal delivered before we finished eating starter, was told they could take it back and put it under the lights to keep it warm. Decided as it had a side salad to keep it and rush starter. My friend received a greasy fish with warm chips. I had macaroni cheese that was so over cooked ( microwaved) it was too hot, dry and thick to eat. Won't be back.

Ordered lasagna and received half a lasagna (see pic). I was asked by the waitress if everything was OK, I said no, take a look at this meal. She had it replaced and came back with a full lasagna.

We visited today for lunch. What lovely people nothing was too much trouble. The meals were lovely, quality products well cooked. The portions are big, the Cumberland sausage on one meal was so big 2 could easily share without anything else. The staff work so hard to make sure you have a great time we are looking forward to coming back. Thank you

Was not busy at all, waited over half hour for starter when it arrived cold (manager removed from bill). Then waited further 40mins for main, i ordered sizzling steak, no sizzle what so ever ( could hold the sizzle plate with my hand) supposed to be really hot. I wanted to leave but Grandson wanted dessert, waited further half for that. Wont be recommending or going back.

Great value for money and good menu variety. Family enjoyed the meals and the service was excellent in a nice atmosphere.

Always good to for dinner in the Bakers Dozen, Switch Island. Staff are always welcoming they are happy to help and to be honest you can actually have a laugh woth the staff. Food is very good Staff are very helpful and well mannered which makes the experience that much better. So yes i would definitely recommend the bakers dozen. 👍👍👍👍👍 All Members of staff are very welcoming they do make it a good relaxing experience. Nice food all was hot the Gammon didn't look to healthy though wouldn't recommend it but the curry the burgers and the steak where all lovely we all enjoyed our meals

Was nice the roast beef was lovely but the ma's and roast potatoes seemed like they were re fried or heated up .. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS DELICIOUS 😋😌😜🤗 Staff were friendly and very helpful 😊

Nice atmosphere with friendly staff. The pub offers a good selection of beers at reasonable prices and being part of the Hungry Horse group gas an excellent food menu.
