Friendly local pub serving excellent home cooked and tasty main courses with 3 real ales. We enjoyed attentive service and prompt delivery. Good portion size and definitely fulfilling as a lunchtime stop before we walked it off at the nearby National Trust Biddulph Grange gardens afterwards. One pub we’ll return to again on a future visit.

Had an absolutely delicious meal today. The steak and ale pie was very tasty. The chips were perfect! Onion rings... Amazing! Huge too! Service was with a smile and very friendly. We felt very welcome. Defo go again and take friends. Highly recommended 👍😁

Lovely little restaurant since it has been refurbished and reopened. The menu is impressive and the quality of the food is excellent. Management and staff are friendly and helpful.

Whatever you do – do not get rid of your chef! What a sublime culinary delight - hand battered scampi, followed by Eton mess and Cheshire ice cream. Quite frankly, the finest meal I’ve ever had at The Castle in the last six years. So absolutely delighted the new owners are so imaginative and enterprising. I wish you every success in the future. We will be back very shortly for more of the same. X

Cannot recommend this place highly enough if you are in Congleton. The music and overall vibe was super relaxed. The food was way beyond what we expected for a little country pub. My boyfriend had the steak burger and said it was the best he'd ever had. We shared a warm brownie for dessert and we didn't regret it. We will be back if we're in this part of the world again!

Came here for a Sunday roast after a walk up the Cloud. The food was fantastic (the cauliflower cheese was a group favourite) and the staff were very kind and attentive. There were issues with the card reader on the day but they rang us in advance so we could get money out from a cash machine which we were very grateful for. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Great food and happy, professional service. Sunday beef roast was superb with excellent vegetables gravy and Yorkshire. I had a hand-made burger meal and it has to be up there with the best I've ever had. Superb. Five stars and great value for money. Thanks all.

A well run inn with a prompt and pleasant waiting service. The staff are approachable and keen to help out if asked, the food was lovely and at a good price. The Inn itself just has a good atmosphere and the building is old fashioned in a cute way.
