My puppy doggy, Ezra, and I had a very positive trip to the vet today (surprising!). From making an appointment, which was given the very next day, and the skillful and friendly techs, to the knowledgeable doctor, we were consistently treated with kindness. I appreciate you all at Rice Pet Clinic! Thank you for doing your job with compassion. I highly recommend this veterinarian.

After my experience with Rice Pet Clinic today I will be switching to a new vet. My dog has had diarrhea for a few days (but not excessively) and I was waiting it out but then he had 8 bouts of diarrhea in about a 12 hour period including throughout the night. I called the clinic the minute they opened and explained my situation and was told they did not have any openings today and I could schedule an appointment for sometime next week. I asked if I could bring in a fecal sample and they said that they cannot release the results of a fecal sample without a current exam. My dog has been to their clinic in the past 7 months for his yearly checkup. They referred me to many vet emergency rooms/urgent cares in the area, all of which had no openings. The only options I could find would require me to drive 1 hour to check in and then wait in my car for 3 hours while it’s 95 degrees out and would baseline cost $220. I called other vet clinics around me and of course they could not help me because my dog is not one of their current patients. However, I was told by multiple other vet clinics that if my dog had been seen by them in the past year they would be able to take a fecal sample and provide medication if necessary without a full exam. This is how previous vets I have gone to have operated as well. I am now waiting to hopefully get my sick little guy into an urgent care sometime today. He is lethargic and won’t eat or drink and is continuing to have diarrhea and Rice Pet Clinic wants me to wait til “sometime next week” to help him out. I have already called and scheduled a first appoinment to establish my dog at a new clinic in a few weeks.

We recently moved to the area and were excited there was a convenient clinic nearby for all of our pets. However, my fiancé took our dog here recently and we were less than impressed with the care we received after his visit. They were unaccommodating and uncompromising. Working in the healthcare field myself I would never hesitate to advocate and find a reasonable compromise for my patients. We will gladly drive across the cities to our former vet who did not upsell us and resolved the medical issue we sought to fix at this clinic.

They always take great care of my lab pup, Max! They're very clear about cost and responsibility and offer different treatment options. We've always been able to get in quickly during urgent situations. Thanks for keeping our sweet boy healthy and happy!

Was able to get a same day appointment to make sure my cat was okay after he fell and hurt his head. Staff was kind, thorough, and empathetic. Exam was very reasonably priced. Grateful ❤️

We wanted to get out of the nationwide, big company vet network. We looked locally, and this clinic was right down the street from us. They were quick to get my cat in and communicated very clearly. They provided lots of information and advice on her kidney failure, but they didn't force us into anything. They always let us know that we were the owners and the ones making the decisions. There was no guilt on their part to spend a lot of money, although they provided us with all the options available. They also called a couple days later to ask how her antibiotics were working. I enjoy supporting a small, local business. Glad we tried them!

I screwed up by not bringing my cat to Rice pet clinic from the start! They provided a ton of detailed information and expressed how much they actually cared about helping my cat from the jump. They are willing to listen to your questions and if possible give you multiple options for treatments rather than acting like “there’s only one way and it’s the most expensive way.” I probably met 6 different people working there, some were working at the front desk to the doctors and they were all educated and could answer questions throughly and were honest. Great place and people!

I brought my dog Oliver (long haired dappled dash hound) to them for a Health and Wellness check. He was old and had a big mass growing in his stomach. That was his 1st time at that pet clinic. They are the most empathetic group I have ever experienced. If and when I get another pet there will be no doubt in my mind where to bring them. Sadly I had to let Oliver go, it was his time. I'm not going to lie...my phone interaction to set up the appointment was "uncomfortable " at best. The girl was literally trying to triage my cat based off one symptom I told her. I think she just cared a whole lot and it can be hard hearing concerning pet symptoms sometimes *shrug*. I'm SO HAPPY we kept our appointment. I brought my ginger cat in and was really relieved that they quickly diagnosed AND prescribed treatment. Our visit was only like $211 for the visit and two tunes of medicine. I wasn't at the appointment but my sister was. She says they were very nice and she now wants to schedule her Pittie to get care here! Yay, we found a vet we can trust!

First time at this clinic. Everyone was so incredibly caring and sweet. You can request an appointment online and they’ll call you back and walk you through it. The vet I had (so sorry I forget her name) made sure my dog was comfortable when she was feeling scared and nervous. She was AMAZING. She even sat down on the floor next to my dog to help comfort her with me through it all when talking to me about her treatment. It meant a lot to me. 1000\10. Thank you so much. I cannot say enough positive things about the care and compassion of everyone I encountered at Rice Pet Clinic. I was visiting from out of state and had to make the decision every pet owner dreads, to put my sweet boy down. From the moment we entered the building, to the follow up a few weeks after... the thoughtfulness and details are very appreciated. Thank you for taking great care of us during this difficult time.

We loved the staff/vet. We were able to get in timely to take care of our dogs ear infection and you really listened to our concerns and care for our pets and didn’t preach (they are a little overweight) but offered gentle suggestions on how to get them where they need to be. You will definitely be our families vet going forward.

They were so so so kind. 100/10 would recommend this vet. Very thorough details and talked over pricing before anything. Made me feel like I’ve been going to that vet for 10+ years when it was my first time.

Very kind, gentle and thorough staff. I have always had a good experience at Rice Vet Clinic. Love the basket on exam table for my cat to sit in- it provides an extra level of comfort and security.

Dr. Casey was very patient and answered all of my questions. My cat gets very nervous going to the vet, but he was very calm at Rice Pet Clinic. The treatment Dr. Casey provided is already working well for my cat after only a few days. I’m very grateful for her help!

Thank you to the people at Rice Pet Clinic . They have been honeys Maine veterinary care and absolutely amazing stuff. They got to see her when she was just an itty-bitty puppy and now to almost full grown dog. For somebody who is a first time dog owner this is one of the best places to go because not only that, but they also have a great service for updated veterinary care. Even though I live a good 30 minutes away, I will still come to them either way.

They always go above and beyond. Most recently they were able to fit my very sick cat in as the local emergency clinics were at capacity. We didn't get good news, but from beginning to end, they made that hard appointment as smooth as it could possibly be. I appreciate you all very much!

I had to bring my 11yr old cat in for emergency treatment, and sadly, it did not end well. The staff was extremely compassionate and patient. Dr. Jason was also very professional and showed great compassion while at the same time explaining everything in terms that i could understand and giving me all of my options. I would 100% recommend this practice to anyone in the area. Even though my experience ended in sadness, it could not have been handled any better by the caring people at this location.

We have recently adopted our first puppy and begun our journey with the Rice Pet Clinic! We were very happy with our first visit and thankful for the knowledgeable and kind staff. We will certainly continue our puppy's care with them!

Started out great. However, the last couple visits/calls have been a nightmare. They diagnosed my kitty with kidney disease and, when she started declining fast, told me they could not get us in for a week and a half. I understand a day or 2 but having no emergency time available for that long for a pet that is suffering is very disappointing. Beyond that, there were numerous occasions that they ran extra blood work/tests without my consent until I got the bill and questioned it. When I would ask questions about what certain metrics meant, they would explain them very complexly (I would ask "what does that mean" or say "I'm not quite following) - they were unable to simplify it to someone who has no form of biology/vet knowledge. Their policies were inconsistent and frustrating as well. I wish the service had stayed up to par with where it started...

We’ve had dog at Rice Pet before but not our cat yet. She became sick on Sunday. We called first thing Monday morning and you worked her into your schedule. We were again impressed with your kind, gentle and caring manner and treatment. We appreciated your upfront pricing and you didn’t push to immediately go to the most expensive options. Everyone was so Duane kind.

I have trusted RPC for over 20 years. Even with changes in staff over those years the care has always been A+. The new renovation sounds exciting. I highly recommend to anyone to bring their pet there!

We’ve taken both of our rescue dogs to Rice Pet Clinic for 5 years now. Every time we are treated with respect and the staff shows how much they truly care about the well-being of our pups. It doesn’t matter how big or small the concern is, they listen to us and provide a starting point for testing and treatments. They've also worked with us and our dogs in making visits as smooth as possible. During our most recent visit, they placed us in one of their new exam rooms in the basement to give my dogs space from others and to make them as comfortable as possible. We truly appreciate all of the effort they put in!

My cat had a bowel obstruction and they were able to get him in right away and took amazing care of him. They thoroughly communicated and gave me updates consistently. They also gave me a very transparent quote for surgery which is something I greatly appreciate. Excellent, kind, caring staff! Will be our permanent go-to vet for all our pets now.

We are grateful for Dr Jason’s attentiveness to Goya’s needs and how well he handles his anxiety issues. He is also very patient answering our questions.
