Recently stayed for 2 nights. Can't fault the staff, they couldn't do enough for us. Really so accommodating and friendly, concierge even dropped our group down to the train station after we asked her about taxi service, lovely chats and she was full of information on the drive. So so nice. Food was fantastic, both dinner and breakfast, again the breakfast staff were just top notch. Room was lovely, large spacious bathroom with both a shower and bath. My only comment would be to consider allowing access to the spa area for hotel guests, as is done in many other spa hotels. The general pool area is fine, small pool, sauna and jacuzzi (although a booking system remains in place - allowing only 1 booking per day per room...) However there is a €25 charge per person to enter the other areas. Aside from that, we really enjoyed our stay.

The location was lovely and the staff were all amazing but we were overall disappointed with our stay. The walls in our room were filthy and obviously in desperate need of cleaning and painting. There were stains on the carpet and the toilet wasn’t clean. The key card I was given didn’t work which resulted in me being locked out of my room in a robe having just come from the spa. Another guest had to go down to reception to ask for someone to come and help me. We asked a a paper to be delivered in the morning which didn’t happen. Not at all what I expect from a 5* hotel

Stayed here for a night with my sister and daughter. From start to finish we were utterly spoiled. Every member of staff were friendly and courteous and couldn't do enough for us. The room was fabulous and spotlessly clean Dinner in the amber lounge was delicious and the waiting staff were extremely attentive and went above and beyond for my sisters birthday. A special mention to Raul in the bar who, even though it was so busy, made sure we were seated and served promptly throughout the night Breakfast was so lovely with no waiting around and an excellent array of choices. We will definitely be back to stay for longer, we were sad to leave such a lovely hotel. The staff are a credit to the resort

Lovely setting, beautifully decorated for Christmas. Popped in for pre-booked Afternoon Tea. The only negative was we were left sitting for 20 minutes after we were welcomed so well. The rest of the service was excellent though. They even packed up what we couldn't finish to bring home with us. Afternoon Tea itself was lovely.

Room was nice and spacious, the staff were very nice. The breakfast I the morning was amazing can't fault it atall. The only stars knocked off was that the heating for the bath was just like warm and for the shower. The room was really cold too.

This is a Fabulous Hotel, in great location we did 2 nights here to celebrate our wedding anniversary & loved it. The Food was however a bit of a let down, we did bar food as the menu in the restaurant didn't work for us but the food was average at best. However it didn't deter us the hotel as a whole is great. I would definitely go back and try it again.

Had an absolutely amazing experience in this hotel. The review starts where all reviews should, the entrance. The entrance to the hotel is beautiful and welcoming, the concierge was funny and helpful and best of all kind. The reception helped us through the process and got us sorted very quickly. The room was stunning not only in looks but in facilities, it had everything. We went for a swim and then had an absolutely amazing dinner at the Amber Lounge in which the server (Jose) was just pure class in both service and personality. The hotel is incredibly fancy but there isn't an air of snobbiness which is very important if you just want to hang out and relax. All in all it was one of if not the best hotel experiences I've ever had. 10/10

Nice hotel, room was comfortable, carpets were quite stained in hallway to bedroom to my surprise. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, lots of options for breakfast. I used the pool and was surprised the lockers had no instructions on how to use them took me a few goes to get it right. The pool area was ok, no sauna in the area.

This is a really lovely place to stay. It has all you need for a great stay away! Will definitely be one I will re-visit.

Seems fraudulent! Would give 0 stars if possible. When checking out I was told that there was in room dining booked on my room number - which I did not order at all. I was forced to pay the money when checking out and it was promised to my (by the hotel manager) that it will be clarified afterward an on will come back to me. Never heard back from them and paid for something which was never used. Not really customer and problem solving oriented! Not recommended!

Absolutely amazing! Can't really fault anything to be honest! Thank you for an amazing time on our Babymoon! They even had a congratulations platter in the room when we arrived. Perfect!

beautiful place to stay. Lovely grounds and swimming pool. The food was very good, as was the service.l...Only fault with the service was on arrival to the restaurant, the host asked if we had a reservation. We didnt. It was shortly before 4pm. She said 'oh give me a minute as we are very busy this evening. There were two tables in use. She offered us a table once we could vacate by 5.30. Which wasn't a problem. When we were leaving at 5.25 the place was still quiet. Not sure why they do that!! It's not very welcoming!! The sauna wasn't working.

The Island is amazingly beautiful. The pathways true the nature are such a relaxing way to spend the day. In the resort everyone goes above and beyond to make you fell comfortable and to have the best time!

Great hotel with an exceptional service! Cosy rooms ,spotless inside and out ,great set up of bars ,restaurants and beautiful lobby! Reception staff was amazing and very helpful,so as the restaurant! The only downfall for me was ,the need of reservations for breakfast,I would’ve felt more comfortable just to wake up and walk in ,despite of reserves time for it ,was still a queue by the door … However,great experience! Looking forward to stay again !

Thoroughly enjoyable 4 night stay there recently. We stayed in the Courtyard Lodges which were furnished to a very high standard. The staff in the hotel couldn't do enough for us and the whole place oozes calm, quality and relaxation.

We booked traditional afternoon tea for 3 people for my mams birthday 2 of which were having afternoon tea. Upon arrival I asked could we sit over to one side as we had a toddler in a buggy to keep it out of the way and was just told 'No', that was fine. Once seated we were told traditional tea was not available only festive tea which was more expensive even though we had booked traditional tea so we then asked could be substitute salmon sandwiches for additional turkey etc and was told that was fine. When tea arrived there were 3 ham finger sandwiches and 2 mini egg rolls and the table beside us had much more than we had. Unfortunately cannot recommend as €45 per person for what was received was ridiculous.

Just visited the spa. Lovely relaxing place, and the thermal suite offer they have is really nice. You should be given though a bit more than an hour, as you are supposed to relax and not check the time. Lockers in the dressing rooms were not working, as most of them stacked locked in open lockers with no option to reset them.

Really enjoyed my couple of nights in Fota. If going for lunch head to the golf clubhouse lovely spot to sit out and take everything in (buttermilk chicken burger is excellent). Only fault have is the food in the amber bar was average while the prices were well above average.

Nothing can describe the sheer excellence of this place!! I was blown away. My friend has the serenity massage and she was in heaven. I had a peppermint and seaweed sugar full body scrub and I felt fabulous!! The spa area is gorgeous and the relaxation area afterwards was so peaceful, with fresh orange juice, fresh fruits and an array of herbal teas!! I will be going back ❤️

We had Easter Sunday Lunch here. The family with kids and elderly parents. The staff couldn't have been better. They were so accommodating. The food was fantastic. Couldn't recommend highly enough 👌 and a walk on the grounds after was the perfect finish to our day

Another fantastic stay in Fota. Great family holiday. Something for everyone to enjoy. Our toddler loved pool and visiting the wildlife resort. The spa and thermal suite were so relaxing. Gosia and all the staff in the spa were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, particularly the breakfast. Chantelle at breakfast was so kind and great at interacting with the children. All the staff were very friendly and went above and beyond. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable. They were well serviced. We will definitely be back next year.

We had an exceptional stay at Fota Island which included a free upgrade to a suite which we were thrilled about and extremely grateful for. The spa experience was first class and the food was perfect. All staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and personable. I cannot fault the experience and would highly recommend to anyone considering a visit. Spa facilities, treatments and food were phenomenal. Special mention to Sarah on reception and to Kiva and Anita in the spa. Thank you to everyone who made the trip so memorable.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel in a beautiful location in cork county. By far the best value in the area. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with all the essential amenities and several luxuries as well. The complimentary breakfast goes above and beyond, with a continental spread that you can grab and go, as well as a hot food menu that beats many of the restaurants in the area. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. I will be returning next time I’m in cork.

Great experience, we stayed here for a week and used it for a base to see Cork and visit Fota with our 3 small kids. Beautiful location, the staff literally can't do enough for you, they really did make the stay for us, not over the top but just really friendly and you get the impression that they like being there. We stayed in the lodges and ate in the hotel a couple of times, food was fine. They dont do table service on their terrace which is a shame, it's beautiful out there but there isn't a whole lot of atmosphere as you have to go through the restaurant to get a drink and won't let you bring food out. Well be back next year I think, highly recommended, one of the best places we've stayed in Ireland. If you like golf the course and clubhouse looks really good too.

Such a lovely experience. Absolutely everyone was friendly and helpful, nothing was an issue. Food was great and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. the view from the room was fantastic. We had our toddler daughter and the staff were more than accommodating to her. We all had a great time here

Amazing hotel to stay with the family. It has a lot of activities for all group ages. A big indoor Pool and gym. The rooms are renovated and spacious. It has different walking treks and a golf club. We’ve come many times and really enjoy each of them.

We stayed in the lodges for three nights and didn't want to leave. The lodges are very well catered, some are evenly privately rented we heard, and the hotel facilities were fab! Would highly recommend a stay here to unwind and catch up with yourself 😊 Lots to do around the area too

I had an amazing experience at the Fota Island Resort spa. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to make it a memorable experience. Big shout out to Liam Dowde, a truly professional and skilled therapist. My spa treatment was well worth a nip away for a couple of hours on a family trip. Bravo!

The Fota Resort is so awesome, we've loved our time there. The service everywhere we went in the resort: 5*'s, our room's quality & comfort: 5*'s. At the time of this review we have eaten at 2 of the 3 restaurants. Irish foods are perfect for people with fussy tummies. They are lightly seasoned & 4.5*'s of delicious 😋

Great place to stay relax eat enjoy the gym or pool.Staff were amazing & could not do enough, with the exception of some! The concierge's that worked there that let a lady walk from & to her car in the rain when there were 3 of them standing around chatting. Hence 3 stars for staff. My slow cooked braised beef was astonishing but my wife's chicken supreme was very poor. Breakfast buffet was poor but table service breakfast was good. As a five star hotel in a five star location, they will have to up their game.Marty.
