You know how you feel when you arrive at your best friends home for an evening of drinks food and gossip? The atmosphere is exactly that, along with some really amazing cocktails, a fantastic duo of staff and a wonderfully talented piano player who sings like an angel! I almost hope that they keep this a secret but I am also bursting to share this place with everyone on the streets. Come here on a weekday evening, especially if you are having bad day I'm sure you will leave feeling like you are on top of the world! Thank you kind hotel staff where we are staying for telling us about this speakeasy!

The best place for cocktails in town hands down. The atmosphere is incredible with a really niche rustic look and feel to it, the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable and will do anything they can to accommodate requests. You always start off with a staff picked taster which has never disappointed. The cocktails there can’t be equalled. Always somewhere I end up.

A secret bar in Liverpool Town Centre. Was walking down Berry Street, then my boyfriend knocked on this black door. I thought we were seeing some clients at their office. The waiter opened the door, then I knew it’s a secret bar. A hidden gem on Berry Street. Small but nice! Menu are on a book. Given a welcome punch to start our night. Ordered the Old Fashioned and Whiskey Sour. Cocktails are lovely, costs around £9 each, love the environment inside. Great choice for a date night to surprise your partner and for quiet small talk:)

Almost don't want to recommend as it will only make it harder to get a seat! The drinks really are outstanding, if you like an Old Fashioned, try a Sazerac... or ask for a rec, they haven't steer us wrong yet.

Called here yesterday with close family. Never been before. Staff were excellent - drinks great, and food (cheese platter, pretzels and olives) fantastic too! Had an afternoon exploring lesser known bars - and this one was the best!

Nearly didn't go in here last night on my way back to the hotel. Turned out to be a great decision. Very nice staff and the musician playing was ace. Solid Monday night venue!

Excellent cocktails with regularly updated menus. Great accomodating service and bartenders are able to make and suggest a variety of off-menu cocktails. Lovely chilled out ambience often with love acoustic music to complete the prohibition theme.

Used to be much better, but still good, a bit pretentious, if you go with a group of guys you probably won't get in. Better to just go with your partner for a quiet drink. Good selection of whiskeys, and definitely make a good old fashioned, and whiskey sour. Pretty expensive but they do use quality products. Sometimes there is an old guy playing the harp, although I haven't seen him for a while, it is really cool.

A hidden Bar, expensive but the quality is outstandingly high, very knowledgeable staff. The lady who served was very helpful and perfectly happy to direct newcomers. Having a locked door policy is a very good idea it keeps the rabble out. So only people in the know know how to get in.

Knock on the door and wait for it. If they've got room for you, you're in for a treat. If they don't: wait - as long as you need (only 45 people allowed inside). A cosy place where you will hear good music, jazz and blues. Live music 5 times a week from 20:30. They have fabulous drinks. If you're open to options, I strongly recommend Med 45; a savoury drink that will please you if you like gin and you like olives. They are dog friendly too - as we have a small 10kg dog, they were happy to take us in, offered our dog treats and water. They will not be able to allow big dogs inside, as it's a small venue. But if your dog will fit under your chair, you're ok. Limited snacks options, not a place for dinner.

Great little place. Proper cocktails and the staff are very knowledgeable and able to give recommendations. Reasonable prices especially if you go on a weekday. Interesting decor. Quite small so can't always get in especially if in a big group but worth it if you can.

A fantastic secret bar with an amazing atmosphere right in the heart of Liverpool. The theming is incredible and the choice of drinks is outstanding. Big thank you to all the staff too who made the night so memorable.

One of the best Old Fashioned's I've had. The server was super friendly and walked us through the menu, also suggesting a number of non-alcoholic options. The piano player added an extra incentive to stay for another drink. Well worth a visit.

Unique experience not to be missed. True “speakeasy” experience knocking on an unassuming black door to be ushered into a wonderful little bar with amazing ambiance and atmosphere. The “menu” is hand stitched into old hardcover books which adds to the vibe. Excellent craft cocktails.

Lovely speakeasy style bar, hidden away. Friendly staff and amazing cocktails including hot ones for the cold weather. Lots of non alcoholic cocktails were available for Dry January when we visited too.

Amazing venue. We joined the short queue and waited around 15mins until we could go in. It's well worth the wait. We were taken to a pair of stools near the bar which was set for us. There was a welcome drink each and 2 glasses of water. The welcome drink was amazing, unfortunately I can't remember the name. The drinks menu is hidden inside a book, the first part of the menu is cocktails, some classic cocktails and some unusual ones. I've There's a large selection of whiskey and gin on the menu. We visited during January, the menu also had a large selection of non alcoholic cocktails. We had 4 cocktails and each was amazing, mixed to perfection. The prices ranged from about £8 to £11 for a cocktail.

Coolest little hidden joint! Brilliant concept, amazing cocktails, fab hospitality. Thanks to the staff at the Pen Factory for the recommendation. Next time I'm in Liverpool, I'll be sure to visit. Keep up the great work 🍸

The coolest and concealed bar in Liverpool. If your lucky to get a table on a busy weekend, you'll be met with creative welcome drink followed by one of many delicious cocktails to choose from. I am not a cocktail fan, and will only indulge in them at Berry and Rye because they are made too perfection. Best old fashions in Liverpool. Top service. Live music on a Thursday is also a must.

I don't really drink, but this place incredible everything has their own flair and the staff are incredible. Excellent bartenders and the hostess is so on the ball it's UNREAL Taking multiple table orders with no notepads Topping up every single person with water Then feeding the orders back to the bartender's and then delivering every tables drinks correctly Incredibly impressed if I could give more stars I would. 100 out of 10

Love that it is ‘hidden in pain sight’. Walked right past the entrance, and if I hadn’t seen it on g maps would not have know where to look. Knocked on the dilapidated door, was let in and walked into an American speakeasy-feel bar. Greeted with water, and a dram of something alcoholic complimentary as I sat down, this place was a winner before ordering. Service, atmosphere and drinks were terrific. Will not be a stranger to this place.

02/05/2022 ----- it's still the best !!!!!!! This place never fails to impress you with its atmosphere, hospitality and the qaulity of drinks, it is second to none!!!!!! One of the best or THE BEST cocktail bars in Liverpool. I actually can't believe I have never left a review. This is my regular place, the Old Fashioned' s are the best (smokey and traditional) and someone will always make you a fantastic Rum Old Fashioned too, there is nothing the mycologist cannot make. It's good to have a place in the city they take so much care in creating fantastic drinks and take the time to recommend new whiskies and rums. * * * * *
