A great coffee place with plenty outdoor seating by the river. A great way to start your day, sipping good coffee with a river view.

This place has lovely ice cream and cakes… coffee is delicious too and the orange juice is a dream …. The indoor room is not that big but plenty of tables outside … my waiter was nice and polite. You can pay with cash or card.

A very nice pastry bar along the riverside in the city center, where is possible to choose different kind of ice cream flavours, or different kind of cakes. I tested the ice cream that was delicious. The personnel is very friendly and funny. The price is on the line with others places of the city. It’s situated in a very beautifull and romantic area. Really suggested!

Stayed in the rooms at Cacao Rooms and it was a lovely experience. Girl who received us very helpful and really nice, rooms very clean and with everything you need as if you were staying in a 4 stars hotel. Located at the city centre, next to Cacao Café and opposite to a lovely terrace where you can seat and have breakfast or just relax with a cocktail in the evenings. I highly recommend this place, thanks for everything Cacao workers.

The coffee and cake were very delicious. All the staff felt kind and professional. It was good because it was a lively and pleasant atmosphere.

Lovely cafe with a great cake selection and riverside indoor and outdoor seating! Most raw cakes are also vegan. Would definitely recommend for vegans and non-vegans alike except for the price tag: a vegan cake will set you back around 7€.

We went several times to Cacao in our vacation. We discovered them in Portoroz and found out they’re based in Ljubljana. Good, fast and friendly service. And nice locations, the one near the triple bridge in L is one of the few terraces that has late sun at the end of September! The products they serve have a different level of quality unfortunately. - Milkshakes 7,5 - Hugo cocktail 5 (good taste but more ice than drink) - cakes 7 (look great, are fine, taste average, were a disappointment for a ‘chocolate’ business with a lot of chocolate cakes) - mixed juices 8,5 - ice cream 8 (good, not the best, better go to Vigo)

Decent and pricey ice cream at a prime location. The wafers were bland. Friendly service. Busy. Good place to rest your legs and do some people watching while enjoying good ice cream.

Delicious ice-cream. They are very consistent. We have been visiting them for years now. Personally, I would say this is the best ice-cream you can get in the city. It is rich and creamy, full of flavor. And the portions are huge as well. 😀 If you’re going out for ice-cream, I definitely recommend you visit this place. It is however always full packed. Especially the sitting area besides the river. You can try your luck inside, on the second floor, if you will not see any empty tables outside. 😉 The waiters are fast and efficient and the prices are a bit above average for ice-cream, but definitely worth it.

one of the best ice-creams i’ve ever tried, and they’ve got a great offer of all sorts of different flavours! the staff was also nice and friendly. you also get such a lovely view if you get the outdoor sitting!

Terrible service. We came first to take ice cream to go and the server serves 2 people before us, that came after us. Also I've seen them ask for a tip, for people that were not even seated (they were taking ice cream to go). Ice cream looks great and smells great, but I wasn't even able to taste it because of unprofessional service. Disappointed!!

Wonderful atmosphere. Good staff. Lot of coffee, cake and drinks options. We loved our coffee But tiramisu could be better. I think I took least consumed cake so it wasn't that good and fresh.

Liked the view, liked the service. We tried 4 cakes, we really liked them, but the price (6.10 each approximately) is high for a small piece of cake, that's why I give 4/5.

We have been to both branches of this gelato shop, in Portoroz and Ljubljana, and both are outstanding. Portions are huge, the flavors are innovative and everything tastes great!

Wonderful view on the river, very very tasty food. Price is as expected. For that good food I would also willing to pay even more. Kind Service and good Suggestion giving. Hot chocolate was also since a long time again the right thing. Differentiating between cacao and hot chocolate. 👏

Pick between a huge assortment of flavours! The ice cream is delicious. There is a queue but it moves fast. During the queue you have time to make your choice. Make sure you have back-up flavours because some are unavailable. Staff is friendly but a bit inpatient, probably because of the queue and the fact that I didn’t have a backup flavour ready, as the coconut was no longer available

Excellent cakes ( raw chocolate cake with banana is the best!!! ) & coffees with excellent & friendly team+service ❤️. The location is perfect at the heart of the old city n next to the river; u can also sit at the terrace💯

Had a local beer here and enjoyed the river view at night time, very chill, understand it’s the riverside so expect to pay a little more, staff are attentive considering they need to look after a big outdoor area

Like the other reviews say, this could be the best ice cream ever! There are around 35 flavours, which may sound overwhelming, but we were here twice and tried 12 flavors - all were EXCELLENT. Even more, the ice cream is not too sweet, even for flavours like muffin or lemon pie. And the portions are very big - you get two big scoops with 2 flavors for €3,10. And it's located right on the river back with a great view of the 3 Bridges and Castle.

The café has an amazing location in the center of Ljubljana. It is on the river Ljubljanica. You can stay on the terrace and admire the places around. The service is OK.

Located right beside the river, cacao is a nice place to hang out and enjoy a drink or dessert. The vegan raw chocolate cake I had tasted delicious! Cocktails pretty much consisted of ice and tasted ok, but of course it’s not their specialty. Prices are quite high! Nice to try once but I probably wouldn’t go back.

We went to try their famous dessert but it’s so famous that it was sold out that day 😂 i don’t remember the name of the dessert but if you describe as “ it is a dessert layer by layer which includes peanuts in a glass cup”, staff will understand what you mean. Instead we tried the ice cream made from similar flavour, which was amazingly delicious. There was a confetti in my mouth. Also our waiter, Blaz, was so kind and friendly and speaks fluent English. They are open every day even on boxing day and have heaters outside. So it’s comfy and cozy outside even during winter. Definitely will go back and try the dessert!!!

Excellent location with breath taking views of the river and the architectures around. Good service and great variety of ice creams and drinks. The Irish whiskey hot chocolate was delicious and great for a cold day! They also have heaters to keep you warm in cold days

Special Flavor is worth trying. I tried Pistachio and Stracciatella. I would say it tastes good, all aroma are pretty natural. However, I find it too sweet and the waffle cone is only okay. It costs me 3.20€ and able to pay with card. Noted that the pistachio is good for a try.

I’m so happy that I found this place as they have some choice of sugar free ice cream with stevia sweetener.I took hazel nut and pistachio and it was delicious- one of the best sugar free ice cream I have ever had. So if you have diabetics or are on low carb diet it’s worth trying them. On top they have nice service and nice view

Good service and decent cold brew, but really disappointing ice cream. I had the dark chocolate raspberry and it tastes extremely artificial and powdery, it didn't even taste like anything resembling chocolate. The raspberry redeemed it a bit but otherwise it was inedible. I don't really understand why so many people have rated this so highly.

Love the hundreds of different choices of flavours and possibilities @cacao Ljubljana. The staff is very friendly and we didn’t have to wait long for our drinks and ice cream. Loved the banana split (personal all time favourite) and the white wine (Slovenian).

Ordered a hot chocolate which is actually melted chocolate in a cup.. I wanted a chocolate milk which is called cacao milk but that's with powder chocolate and not melted. A bit confusing but a lovely place if you're in need of some chocolate. They have a big menu with other things too.

The review is about the bar, not the rooms. We had two slices of cake, and we can say to have been satisfied enough. There is a great choice of desserts and maybe we didn't take the right ones, but still they were tasty, sophisticated and well served. The position is very nice, especially during the down, but this is my opinion.

Best place in the center of the city with high quality service and products. The coffee is great, hot chocolate as well, and the ice cream is wonderful. Very kind personnel. Definitely place that everyone should visit, especially during sunny day when you can seat next to the river and enjoy.

Great pastries and pretty good coffee in a privileged location. I recommend sitting in their terrace, if the weather allows it, and enjoy the view of the historical Tromostovje over the Ljubljanica river.

Friendly stuff and tasty fresh sweets / cakes! It’s open until late so if you are a late dinner-eater you have the possibility to enjoy nice desserts there, even after 21:00!

Cakes were amazing very authentic and traditional cakes! Apple pie is brilliant and we ordered a lemon cake was magnificent! Their coffee is perfect as well one of the best in town

Everyone must try this product in Cacao caffee. Is is kind of pistachio cream. THE BEST SWEET product I have ever tried in my life. Can't wait to travel again to Slovenia to purchase 10 of these!!!!
