I don't often give a perfect review score but the experience was perfect. The staff went above and beyond to answer all our questions and requests (ie. Vegetarian, English speaking). We had so much fun and also enjoyed the quality of the food. I didn't know what to expect going in and that was part of what makes it special. I think although the concept is great on its own it is the excellent staff in Ljubljana that makes this one totally worth the money.

I was really curious how this dinner will look like. Well, I can say it was really really dark :) Typical Slovenian dishes in a modern way were delicious, but it was quite a difficult task to recognise what we were eating. Such an experience really gives you an opportunity to test your other senses (our eyes really tell us a lot!) and provides a lot of fun during doing that. I definitely recommend a visit.

Loved it! I was playing a tourist in my home city, when I noticed a bit unusual experience on the list of the rainy day activities in Hotel Union. I was a bit sceptical on the start, because the price is a bit high, but I ended up in complete dark room with one of the most unique experiences I ever had. Food was good, but the flow of the dinner is something else. I would recommend it and I would even say that everybody needs to try it!

I didn't expect, dinner in the dark could be such an amazing experience! I would really recommend it. Lots of fun and great food! I suggest it for dates or having fun time with friends!

An amazing experience. 2 hours long program in pitch dark. Time flies by super fast. 5 course dinner, accompanied by quality slovenian wines, different for each course. I would reccomend this for everyone wio wants to experience something they have never felt before.

The whole dinner was an amazing experience, totally different. Sitting in the dark, we enjoyed every moment of discovering the food on our plates, laughing all the way through 4 courses, trying to eat with the forks was nearly impossible :) Really liked the extra tasks we had to perform - they had us pouring glasses, smelling strange vials and touching unknown boxes. The food was amazing, all based on traditional Slovenian cooking but on a totally different level. The meat just melted in our mouths. Pure pleasure. The staff was really nice and helped us through the dark :)

My girlfriend and I decided to try dinner in the dark. She was a bit skeptical, she thought it's no different than a regular dinner. But I love to try new things, so we gave it a try. In the end we were both blown away! The food was amazing and the experience of taste, when you're in complete darkness, is unlike anything we've experienced before! I think it's one of the coolest things you can try as a couple or with friends in Ljubljana.

I knew for Dans la noir, because it started in France, but i never had a chance to visit it, so i decided to check Slovenian one, because it had a lot of positive reviews. We were brought to a dining room in 120% darkness and were welcomed by a host, who is genuinely blind. During the whole course of dinner, we tried every dish not just with their tastes, but also the sense of touch with hands - struggling to guess what they are and how they look. We couldn’t guess all of them even though some are so common and we have tried many times before. Nevertheless, the idea of such an experience is to raise awareness and funds to those with visual impairs for improvements in their lives, which the initiative should be much appreciated. It was one of the best memories from Ljubljana, even if everything else was amazing too. I would totally recommend it!

It`s one of the things everyone should experience! We had no special expectations and we were amazed! The food is excellent, with interesting ingredients and it was a fun and a challenge to identify what exactly are the delicious pieces that we were eating. It was a challenge to all our senses and a fun way to experience the world of people with sight loss. The evening was very well planned and the waiters were professional, thoughtful and considerate. For us it was also amazing because we had no cellphones, no distraction and it led us to a dinner with a lot of talking and connection. It definitely was a special date dinner after a long time. Would definitely recommend to any one wanting to break away from just a meal out!

I was really curious to see what happens to your senses when you are served haute cuisine in pure pitch black dark..The food was outstanding, even for our capital's high standards. Me and my wife tried guessing the ingredients but quickly were transcended into one of the most romantic epicurean experiences yet, better than many of the Michelin's stars we visited in Italy and elsewhere. A must do for you and your fiancee, wife or lover:) Truly unique dinner with a fun, relaxed and elegant twist.

The night started out good, when we got there we got a glass of champagne and each group was lead to their table in the dark (and it really was dark). For me that was the best thing about the whole experience though. The food we got wasn’t good at all, some courses were really dry where others just tasted bland. We didn’t get any choices for the wine except for red or white and they didn’t try to actually pair it with the various dishes. It was also difficult to ask for more drinks since the waiters were talking with each other on multiple occasions and we didn’t get the personal waiter that was promised on their website. Mind that you can’t get eye contact with anyone of the staff since you have no clue where they at. It wasn’t worth the 60 euros and I wouldn’t recommend going here. Next to the mediocre food they had some “challenges” that seemed really childish to me. As a whole it was just an incredibly disappointing experience. Since they’ve only been doing this for a couple of months so I hope they will improve in the time to come. If they don’t, not worth your time or money.

Five years later, I totally agree with the comment below. Our experience was just like theirs. I wouldn't suggest paying 69€ because the food we got (boiled beef, pate on bread…and dessert in a plastic cup) felt like a waste of money.
