We both went for the sausage main to try something with a local feel. Overall it was good but we just felt the meat could have been of higher quality. Maybe just a bad choice on our part as other dishes looked great. Waiter was very friendly and no issues with the service or ambience. Set back from the river but well located. Would not put anyone off going here but maybe try a different dish.

Delicious, homestyle cooking with good sized portions and very attentive service! Very cozy atmosphere, dimly lit with candles. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

An immediate warm welcome from the owner set the scene, pulling tables together for our group of 5 plus 1 dog. He checked our Covid papers/QR codes as required, and proceeded to make sure we were comfortable and ready for a relaxing time. The place is small, maybe ~25 seats, and the ambiance is quite "home-y" and personal... If I were a local, I would be a regular! There are two clean toilets, one for boys and one for girls. On to the food... Maybe most impactful, is he served our dog first, making sure he had water and was comfortable. Very kind. :) Now the human food... The chicken liver and truffle pate blew us away! I could eat that every day. This stands out the most when I think back to our food there. We also got the meat board, which had a tasty variety of things - not as simple/"elevated" as the pate, but still worthwhile. Then, many of us got the trout, which was cooked perfectly - savory, salted, and a bit crispy on the edges - though some in our group thought it was *too* salty. For me it was perfect. :) The accompanying spinach mashed potatoes were creamy/buttery and savory with a certain umami. Would definitely get it again. Then there was the sausage main dish, which of course included delicious sausage, but the accompanying fried potatoes and veggies were a perfect pairing. Then there was the cream cake - I forget the actual name - for dessert. Oh man, we were stuffed after the mains, but it's a must-have! Find room in your belly. It's better than anywhere else! Overall, a really wonderful experience. The total was ~€115 for all 5, which I think is really high value. Thanks to the "Me" in Marley & Me for the great time!

Highly recommended restaurant. The restaurant offers farm to table menu with local drinks. Went there during the holidays. There is no reservation therefore had to go back earlier the next day so we can have a table. Excellent service with getting answer to all of our questions with some additional history lessons from Slovenia. Got a local brew which was very tasty with the food which was already delicious. I ordered the sea food which was so fresh I could taste very bit of vegetables in my plate. I felt like the chef went outside and picked up the ingredients from behind the building. The ribs were cooked very juicy and just right. Make sure no one skip the desserts. Nothing fancy but one just wants to keep eating it until the stomach burst.

Came here yesterday I’ve tried a few excellent dishes like the burger and the grilled chicken but I didn’t really like the octupus or the cheese ravioli and the service was horrible as well !! So hostile and not welcoming

Sat down for a solo lunch and had the most amazing meal and experience. The gnocchi was rich and flavorful and the tiramisu was some of the best I’ve ever had. The owner of the restaurant is probably the sweetest person I’ve ever met on my travels and made my solo meal feel like a meal with friends. If you’re a traveler and want a good meal and friendly conversation this is the place to come.

Service was very friendly, we chose the Slovenian dishes. Sausage and the dumplings, very tasty and good price quality balance. Home made Tiramisu is tasty as well the Slovenian cream cake.

Great restaurant in the city center. The waiter was super nice and helpful with the menu. We loved the Slovenian cured meats and the broccoli soup!

We ate at this restaurant this evening on the last night of our holiday and the food was incredible! So full of flavour and great value for money. Service was great, the lady that served us was so lovely and kind! Highly recommend!

Looking for a place to eat in Ljubljana, I stumbled across this place, having eaten next door for lunch. All of the tables were reserved (as the case in most of the restaurants I had passed), however, the waiter/manager were happy to accommodate me as it was a table for one. The waiter was very helpful, giving recommendations as to the best of the Taste Slovenia options (the Idrian Dumplings). The food came relatively quickly, and tasted amazing. The restaurant location was also great, deep in the old town. Unfortunately I was too full for a dessert, however, the Bled Cream Cake was very tempting and looked delicious, definitely something I plan to try on my next visit. I would 100% recommend this restaurant, but possibly best to book, especially if you are a party of more than 1.

Wow! We had great sausages and ravioli, but the Istrian dumplings were to die for - I‘ll be smiling all day thinking of them <3 and topped off by a (huge) cream cake :) Amazing place, a shame we were the only customers 😢

Nice staff, very helpful and attentive. Decent glass of cold wine. Didn't enjoy sitting by the toilets and the octopus was overcooked.

We were looking forward to some real Slovenian food. So we ordered the dumplings and the sausage. Dumplings and sauce were bland, I had to add salt. Sausage nothing special compared with German, Austrian or Czech ones. We don't know if it should be like this, a bit boring , or we were just unlucky. Friendly staff.

A very cute and comfortable little restaurant. The food was amazing and that for a fair price. The service was also very good, and everyone was really friendly! We will definitely eat here again if we come back to Lubiljana!

Last minute choice as we couldn't find anywhere but this was a lucky one. Yum! They also gave us the last piece of tiramisu for free as it was closing time. You absolutely need to get the dumplings here!!

We were lucky to find a table outside at around 9pm, the waiter was warm and the food was good. For those who dislike creamy deserts, I recommend the nut rolls which were delicious!

We found this restaurant without reservation, but we could have a free table for us.... A very little place and not a lot of people... because wasn' t there a good kitchen? Very good food. The octopus is really good - melts in your mouth. Had also the chicken liver pate but forgot to take a photo, the trout fillet and tiramisu.

We ordered ravioli, grilled octopus and tiramisu. They were flexible about the dishes, I could order a vegetarian version of the pasta. The food was amazing and served by a cheerful waiter. If you wanna try this restaurant you have to reserve a table or arrive at opening time.
