Amazing little place with top notch food. Prices are reasonable and food is absolutely amazing. We will definitely visit this place again. I had a striploin steak, medium rare, with mashed potatoes and veggies. Meat was top quality and cooked to perfection.

We visited the restaurant for lunch and all of the food was amazing. They have a weekly menu with a few dishes you can select from, but everything is prepared expertly and with care. The price of the meals is also decent for such an upscale restaurant. We were informed that the restaurant will be moving to a new location in a few months and getting a new name, so pay them a visit while they're still here or do a quick search for the new place. They're definitely worth it.

Amazing 7 course tasting experience at a reasonable price and each course paired with a local wine. The staff was extremely knowledgeable. The atmosphere is very casual, relaxing, and fun! Also the tasting menu is flexible as we had one of our party who did not eat fish. Definitely worth a visit when in Ljubljana!

Great food, incredibly friendly staff, again and again!

Great place with delicious food and very welcoming staff. We came here for a lunch (3 course for 25€ each) and it was super. All dishes looked and tasted very good, no more words to add. I would definitely recommend to stop by and try their menu, paired with some nice Slovenian wine.

Delicious hidden gem. Came here on the recommendation of our apartment hosts next door and not only was it fantastic value (27 euros for a 3 course meal), every course was delicious with quality ingredients and a restraint execution that isn't easy to find in Europe. Do make a booking as there's not a lot of seating, but definitely well spaced and will make for a nice intimate catch up.

The ultimate experience - from food, plating to service.

Overall a good experience. Was it our best Michelin dining we have had- no, nowhere near. However, the courses were well thought out (except one was unbearable… and we watched others around us not able to eat it), the wine pairings were interesting and unique, and it was comfortable. 7 courses were laid out over 4+ hours which seemed a bit long. We often got our wine and then had to wait upwards to 30 minutes before receiving our dish to pair with it. Therefore, the service on that side of things needs work. We did enjoy the experience though and would recommend it still.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. We took the lunch menu which was amazing quality. The eggplant terriyaki is to die for. Good selection of non-alcoholic drinks as well. I loved the kombucha. The place itself is beautiful, but small. Booking a table should be done in advance. Service was great and fast.

Good food, but expected a little bit more. The service was great, very kind and professional staff. The ambiance is unfortunately too minimalistic - not in a fancy way, for my taste. Located in the center of Ljubljana. It’s ok for an informal lunch.

Friendly service with an attention to details, waitstaff explained all the dishes and you could tell they are passionate about the food they make. The lunch menu we had was reasonably priced yet of high quality ingredients, well presented and great value! A perfect stop in central Ljubljana. Reservations recommended as indoor seating area is not huge.

Very interesting experience. Atmosphere is great - intimate and cozy. They offer a 7-course tasting menu (same for all guests). We really enjoyed the majority of the dishes & connected with the concept of “zero waste.” Each dish is very elaborate and includes several ingredients/textures. Just be prepared for a longer-than-usual wait time between courses and to be there for a good 3 (+) hours.

The food was awesome! We had the 7 courses menu and different wines and everything was perfect. The service was great, the wine recommendations perfect and we had a great time there. Just plan a little time for the dinner. It took us for all the 7 courses around 3 hours to finish.

Unfortunately there are not 6 stars I can give this place. Everything was perfect. Local ingredients, flavorful, creative and generous. Impressive natural wine list and incredibly attentive services. I would come back to Slovenia only to eat here again; I am planning on it, in fact.

This place was the highlight of the whole trip (eat-wise). Their menu is a unique experience, really tasty, with vegetarian options, filling and for a great value. Book with time ahead if you are planning to come, or otherwise a late lunch might be your only option. The staff was very nice explaining everything and quick on the delivery. Also, it's a dog friendly place!

7 course blind menu was the dining experience that we were hoping for. The restaurant team was amazing, from food to service to drink recommendations everything was so well thought out. The creativity in each course was incredible. We spent three hours indulging our palates. Such a memorable meal, can't wait to see them get their Michelin stars as they totally deserve it!

Wonderful dining experience. Generous portions, seasonal produce. Attentive and warm staff. The menu options are three or four dishes from a set menu. I liked that the ingredients are different in every dish so there really is something for everyone. Very honest prices for the quality and location.

Monstera Bistro is a tiny restaurant in Ljubljana seating under 30, so if you want to try you must book in advance. As I was welcomed I was asked about allergies and through the conversions it was made clear that this is not your traditional Slovenian restaurant. I visited on a Saturday night and restaurant was packed and a few people without a reservation were turned away. The dinning experience consists of a 7 dished tasting menu that can be paired with wine if you like. The dishes are small portions and draws from world cuisine. The restaurant tries to minimize its footprint by  not changing glasses and silverware between every dish and maximizing the use of all ingredients. Overall all of the dishes I tastes were good. Focused on vegetables and fish and seafood which was great for me. However the portions are quite small and though I am not a big eater, when the last savoury dish came, I was left a bit unsatisfied. As for the service it was good but at times it felt a little bit over rehearsed and less spontaneous. When the staff was explaining the composition of the dishes it felt as if they had been repeating that for the 10th times. Doesn't help that because the restaurant is so small, and the meanu standard, I actually heard them repeating the explanation to tables served before  me and tables served after me. I have to say my favorite were the desserts, light tasty and fruit based yummm!! It was such a delight! No crazy heavy chocolate based mess (I am clearly partial). I would eat those desserts 100 times over.

Low key, super affordable for what it provides, tasting course menu only (in the evening) cozy little Bistro, named after the Monstera ☘️. Had a blast 💥 here - from the atmosphere (8 tables total), to the drinks (great 🍷, great cocktail 🍹) to to food, with a focus on zero waste. Do book in advance, I'll be back whenever there's a new menu 📖 available!

Delicious food and very nice staff. An experience you get here is definitely worth every euro. Would come again, since it’s one of the best places in Ljubljana!
