One of the oldest restaurants in Europe. Since 1770s. Fine setting with a awesome waitress. Tries triple with tomato base, traditional mushroom soup in bread, and traditional apple-ricotta cheese dessert. They are all very tasty. Triple with Tomate base is also claimed to be a traditional dish in Italy. But that’s very natural as two country are bordering each other. I am not sure where is the exact origin but regardless it was very delicious.

My friends and I were in Ljubljana for a girls trip and we wanted to try something traditional food from Slovenia. We turned out to come to this Restaurant. The food was amazing! I had a roast veal and it was so good! Not only the good food, the waitress was so nice and friendly aswell (I forgot his name but he could speak tons of languages) 😉 We were also lucky, as once we arrived, there was a traditional Slovenian dance performance which is for free (mostly u gotta pay to see this kind of dance). So we got a very good deal 😉 Highly recommended to try!

Eleven of us had an end of tour meal here. Although the photos show the inside of the restaurant, we actually sat outside in the "garden". It filled up quickly after we got there , gone 7pm. As it was a very warm evening, everybody wanted to sit outside - the inside was empty as people waited for an outside table! Well prepared food, reasonably priced wine and the waiter was very friendly and efficient. He also spoke good English. The restaurant was established at number six (hence the name) back in 1776. Booking recommended, especially for the garden tables on a weekend. Recommended.

Bad experience. Rude & impolite staff. I was there with a friend around 10pm, we had waited for awhile for a table. A staff walked pass in front of us without leading us to a table and neglected us. Then, I approached him to get a table. I was happy when seeing a staff took the menu to us after 10 minutes since we sat down and I said ‘Finally’. Then, the staff was starring at me and asked ‘what finally?’ rudely. I replied ‘that you are coming’. He then turned around and put the menus back to the rack and walked away. We were there late, so it was not that busy. Sadly, we had been neglected & treated impolitely. As a customer, I am willing to pay for such pricy restaurant to have a nice dinner. However, it should come with both good food & service. I was looking forward to try traditional Slovenian foods at this restaurant as it was my first time in Slovenia but the service really disappointed me so we left without eating anything.

Pros: Great atmosphere, modern but traditional at the same time. Traditional Slovenian food which tastes great and has big portions. Prices are reasonable though not cheap. Cons: few vegan options, very crowded, feels very touristy, long queue outside - definitely need to call them and reserve a table

Ljubljana classic 👍 + Food was delicious but be ready for big portions. + Very rich menu with some seasonal dishes. + The restaurant is huge, typical Slovenian interior and they also have a garden. (unfortunately they need more staff to normally cover all the guests) - Our waiter was absolutely average 🤷‍♂️ He was professional and that's it. So, all in all, cool place for different occassions 😉

Space for large groups but also with an alcove on the patio for couples and small groups. Our venison dish was tasty, although the meat was a bit overdone, the flavor was still nice. My companion had the fried sea bass, it was a fresh catch and cooked well with a generous portion of vegetables. The house wine is of good quality and priced reasonably.

Great meal. The waiter is careful, suggesting me not to order too much to prevent a waste of food. The beef liver with mushed potatoes is worth licking the dish. Finally understood why the restaurant is crowded always.

Restaurant in the city centre with nostalgic touch. And it seem they even stayed in those 70s vibe. Food is ok, service nice and friendly.

We dinned here two times during our stay in Ljubljana. It was great both times. There are a lot of options to choose from and the dishes we chose were all very tasty and fresh. The service was excellent and the decoration of the outdoor patio was simple but charming and welcoming. Highly recommended!

This is a wonderful “ancient” local famous restaurant. Very centrally located. Many people too. Better pre-booked for a table. Lots of guests. The food is good. Must come try. I’ll be back

I'm more than happy with the dinner I had here. I ordered kmečki krožnik and while it was indeed a huge amount of food for a single person, every single item on the plate was super flavourful and tasty. The level of service here is also high. Hosts are friendly and always happy to provide you with the menu suggestions.

We took sausages with sauerkraut. It was one of the best I´ve had. Excellent service also. And the price was very reasonable.

Great service and local Slovenian food. Unfortunate my colleague didnt feel well so we had to leave. The waiter was very kind and gave good advice. We arrived at about 3:15pm. Were told to come back in an hour as the kitchen was closed, which was no problem. Came back and it was very quiet. Got served by a very nice waiter. Didn't have to wait long for the food. I ordered the žlikrofi and my company got the beef goulash and chicken salad. We all had apple strudel and cinnamon ice cream for dessert. All of us really enjoyed our food. Very high quality and all cooked from fresh ingredients. I would highly recommend for trying some traditional dishes. Try and get there at a less busy time.

Sestica was a nice restaurant The mushroom soup we had was very tasty and worth in all ways. The schnitzel was very dry and no dip was served with. Even their complimentary bread didn't had a dip. Overall it would be nice to eat there one time.

We went twice. Arriving before the crowd for Lunch and Dinner. Very authentic local vibe. And it gets crowded very very fast. The servers were very friendly and kind. They recommeded the best dishes For lunch. The mushroom soup was served in a huge bread bowl. Very yummy. Beef ghoulash with polenta is a must. At first I thought it was just a stew but it was filled with tender beef chunks melting in your mouth. So warming and comforting. The sausage was super yummy. So juicy and flavourful The pasta dish was creamy and filled with chunks of sausage, bacon and ham. The dessert we ordered was from the seasonal menu. It was freshly baked and delicious. Highly recommended

Honestly the worst dinning experience. Very rude and impolite staff. 👎🏻👎🏻I donot usually give bad review online but this service is really unacceptable. we came as a tour of 30 people on 29/12/2023 dinner time. This is popular restaurant here but not worth visiting. Waited for an hour plus for the foods to arrive, the mushroom soup taste so salty and the pork dish as well.the only taste with the pork is salty, salty and salty. We gave polite feedback to the staff and he raised his tone at us to say that that is our PROBLEM. Very disappointing indeed. We did not request to change the dish but the moment he shouted at us was very shocking. He then return our unfinished dishes to say that it is our problem that we think the pork is very salty. Please train your staff properly.

The food was very good. I ordered the sausage with sawerkraut and potatoes. The balancing of flavours was good but a little bit of too much fat but it depends on your preference. And the waiting time also was decent.

The food was good and really authentic. The mushroom soup is in the bread. However, it was really very busy at night. I know the waiters are very Nice but it just didn't have enough people. They don't even provide reservations. You have to try your luck. Moreover, you should pay by card, then you don't need to wait that long because only a few staff can handle cash payment.

Nice traditional restaurant serving Slovenian dishes. We were early so not many people but the restaurant itself is very nice and clean with an open fire. Staff were friendly and spoke good English. If you like traditional food this place is definitely a good option.

A truly authentic place that first openned it's door in 1776. The place is a 'used to be typical' European eatery that has table cloths (not for the poshiness, traditionally meals were eaten 'in conditions' until new age 'cool' settings took over) with traditinal dishes and no frill service (don't expect overly attentive, suited waiters). They have seasonal manu in addition to the standard one. The restaurant is located in the centre of Ljubljana and is a fantastic option if you want to get away from the tourist buzz to eat some Slovenian food hearing Slovenian spoken all around you.

We had a good dinner on an August saturday evening, eating a cold cuts platter with pickles and a very good goulash put into a sort of bread dish. We also drank a good bottle of Refosk. So why only 2 stars? Because when we arrived, at 9 pm, there was a barrier in front of the entrance. When some guests came out i came in, i asked to a waiter if it was possible to eat and he said yes. My friend stayed outside but another waiter told her that she was not "respecting the restaurant" and that she should come back the day after at 7 pm. I called her and the other waiter let her come in. I point out that on Google Business Profile the closing time is 11 pm, so i don't understand such verbal aggressivness and lack of kindness.

Didn't enjoy my lunch here, so I wouldn't recommend it. Restaurant was mostly empty when I visited and still I had to wait for service and the bill for long time. Beef soup was too full of parsely and pasta, while fuži with truffles and beef stake were tastless.

A lunch, the beef steak really surprise me. It is a steak cost me 23eur. As I understand, a 23eur steak at least should come along with some vegetables, purely potatoes? Excuse me?! A more funny thing is, when I said medium rare, the staff confuse, than I said medium minus, do not understand again. Ok, maybe I sure not order steak here at all. My bad

Very traditional restaurant and incredibly friendly service. You can see that the locals go there, which makes it good! The waiters spoke English and they were so helpful, guiding us and telling us what to take from the menu. I would strongly recommend the mushroom soup! WOW! WOW! There's also a beautiful fireplace inside the restaurant that adds to the authenticity.

This restaurant is for people who aren't in a rush. We waited an hour for our order, but the wait staff was friendly (even gave us a desert on the house for waiting a bit longer). All in all this restaurant is definitely for those who want a good meal and want to experience a bit of Slovenian culture along the way. P.S. great local wine 🍷

Good food and nice personnel, the food is good. I recommend this place. But if you come here, ask for the layered cake, I don’t remember the name of it but you wouldn’t regret it (I think it’s called: gibanica)
