Excellent traditional Slovenian food but vegan! I tried the dodoles which were amazing and also one of the soup/stews. Would love to come back to try the steaks too. Lovely service as well but make sure you get a reservation during busier periods. Thanks!

We loved our meals from Gujinza! We got the vegan dodole and gnocchi in a porcini mushroom sauce and they were both delicious. We got this during our first night here and will definitely be back for more!

We spent a night in Ljubljana before heading to Punk Rock Holiday so we treated ourselves to a nice dinner. I read mixed reviews of this place, with a lot of people saying it's expensive but personally I thought the food was worth the money. It's a fully vegetarian restaurant but they can make the dishes vegan on request. We went for the bograč which was a sort of stew with seitan and potatoes, two types of dödöle - a potato dumpling, and a creamy tagliatelle with smoked ham and pumpkin seeds. Honestly everything was delicious, if we had spent more time in Ljubljana I'd definitely be going back here to try some other dishes. The service was great and it was lovely to sit out on the cobbled street and watch the world go by while enjoying delicious homemade food.

YUM! What a spectacular vegan/vegetarian experience!!!! We were so delighted to get a spot here, be careful on Sundays in the summer as restaurants get busy as supermarkets are closed. Nonetheless, this seems to be a popular spot with locals and tourists alike, with lots of charming outdoor and unfortunate seating. The taste of the food was gorgeous, so flavoursome and unique. There is an extensive menu of creative, typical Slovenian food. It was hard to choose! Personally I recommend the “feast for two”. My pictures are of the homemade ham with delicious sauces, the delicious stew, and the typical local cake. Gorgeous! There is a huge choice of drinks too. The staff are very kind and informative too! Thanks for a wonderful dining experience! We won’t forget this beautiful evening in Ljubljana :)

We did a free city tour of Ljubljana today and when we inquired about vegan/vegetarian restaurants, the tour guide Tina 1 recommended Güjžina. Wow! It was great! We wanted to sample the taste of local dishes like Goulash which has meat, and this restaurant delivered an amazing vegan version. We also enjoyed the sausage, very tasty. The service was excellent and the atmosphere cozy! If you are vegan or vegetarian, or you simply want to try something different, plant based, and delicious, this is the place to go!

We wanted to try traditional Slovenian dishes that were vegetarian and came across this place. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality, taste and varieties that were available. We enjoyed our meal and would love to visit again to try their desserts.

The staff was very cordial and the dishes were delicious. We didn't have to wait to get in and the dish arrived in a few minutes. excellent service

Went here to try to some Slovenian dishes made vegan. They had a lot of pure vegan options, but other vegetarian dishes could be veganized. I was pleasantly surprised by the quick service. It was almost that the waiter and the cook knew what I wanted to order before coming to the restaurant 😝. The dish I chose had three different plant-based sausages and a small soup with cabbage and onion (I think?). All sausages contained buckwheat and some of of them had mock-meat inside. It was fulfilling.

Hands up for the great idea of a vegetarian restaurant in the centre of Ljubljana! Amazing. However the food did not have any fresh taste, felt like they just warmed it up and brought it to the table. Kind of expensive for the flavour. Would go again to try different dishes.

We did a good tour on our first day here and we’re shown this restaurant. You’ll get traditional Slovenian cuisine with a vegetarian twist, which doesn’t make it less delicious, on the contrary. Mushroom soup was the right thing for the cold September day and the Dödöle had the perfect prepared buckwheat. Gibanica dessert highly recommend. Make a reservation if you can. Good for dates.

This restaurant is very good and known for desserts and sweets. You can also eat and drink there. The service is very good and the restaurant is perfectly located in Ljubljana. There are many choices of vegetarian -vegan dishes. I don't know if all the menus are vegetarian :) I recommend this address 🙂

We love this place. They do such an excellent job with their vegetarian and vegan foods. We enjoyed every single dish and dessert that we got there.

The restaurant is pretty well located and the food is really really good! It’s great to see traditional Slovenian dishes being offered in vegetarian and vegan. The waiter was also super friendly and nice. Definitely recommended, especially the vegan bograč (you can also buy some take away). In terms of price, it is aligned with other restaurants in the city center, actually even less expensive. Good job!

Amazing experience! We were a bit apprehensive because of some poor reviews (although we mainly had a good laugh about people who are bothered by vegetarian dishes), but we were so, so happy we went! We had the small feast for 2 (which was not quite small) and it was lovely to try the real Slovenian cuisine!

I was really impressed. They’ve embraced what all vegetarian restaurants should embrace: you don’t need meat replacements to make a good place! Their food was excellent. We had three different pasta dishes and could easily have come back again for them. Stand out was the pesto one.

The food was great but the service was awful. While the waitress was friendly the service was very slow. We ordered a starter and a main, which led on to a series of bad management decisions. Both courses were served at the same time. This was very unpleasant, and we couldn‘t enjoy our food. My husband couldn‘t eat his main but all we got was a sorry. We were then offered a dessert for takeaway but then they said they couldn‘t give us the dessert we asked for. They said that it was not for takeaway even though the waitress confirmed she could pack it up. There were packages with that dessert on the street display too. We got a piece of cake then with ingredients we are allergic too, so the cake was taken away without any replacement to compensate for their bad service. We still had to pay the one main course my husband couldn‘t eat and couldn‘t take with us because we were on vacation. The great food doesn‘t compensate the horrible service.

Nice restaurant, traditional Slovenian cuisine vegan style. Excellent! Had tartar, polenta with mushrooms, both very tasty, gnocchi with pumpkin seed pesto (which could have been spiced a bit better). Strudel as dessert was fantastic. Prices okay. Music a bit too loud, but friendly waiters. All in all a great visit! Mostly foreigners, why?

This place was recommended by our host and we had a big hope but in the reality were disappointed. Food is just ok, vegetarian steak tasted like rubber and if you really look at the menu everything is made of the same three ingredients. Service is so so, the waiter was not very engaging. It was very cold Inside and the toilet is next door. Won’t recommend:(

Glad to have found somewhere that could prepare vegetarian versions of Slovenian food without onion or garlic! Got the mushroom soup, sausage with cabbage soup as well as the seitan steak with dodolle in green pepper sauce. We also ordered the homemade grape juice which was interesting! It was nice to finally to taste the flavours of Slovenian cuisine (my favourite was the dodolle). I wished they had the pumpkin oil ice cream though!

Very good food and a nice and cozy atmosphere. The food was a bit overpriced if you ask me, but otherwise we had an excellent experience!

Typical Slovenian food but vegetarian or vegan. Really tasty, you definitely should give it a try. The staff didn't speak a good English but she tried hard ans that is amazing to see how they want to help us het what we want.

SO DELICIOUS! We are so happy our tour guide recommended this place, everything was delicious and the staff was super helpful. We loved our meal (so much so that we came back 2 more times during our short visit in Ljubljana). The dödöle was our favorite, you must try it! Thank you Gujžina for a delicious taste of Slovenia!
