An insult to Indian cuisine? Maybe locals love but not Indians. They're serving some normal rices as biryani. First time I saw an Hyderabad chicken biryani made with spinach. The chicken biryani is nothing but tomato rice with chicken pieces. The chicken kolhapuri is nothing but onion tomato chutney.

Centrally located near the river. Service was atypical and wasn't great. The waiter seemed in a hurry when there were not many patrons to attend. The food was bland and moderate at best, which one has come to understand with most of European Indian restaurants. Passable place and visit if you want to simple and palatable food.

If you’re looking for authentic Indian food with flavour and spice then DO NOT GO HERE. We got a chicken curry and chole bhature and both gravies were way too similar. Both lacked flavour. We asked the waiter to make it spicy to which he asked Indian spicy and I said yes but it was anything but spicy. Masala papad had more spice than the curries. The mango lassi could do with more mango flavour. The bhature(puri) and the garlic naan were nice.

Best Indian restaurant in Ljubljana!! Ambiance is good and food is really tasty. We tried Vegetable Korma, it’s delicious 😋 with rotis and Nan. Later tried with Vegetable biriyani it was so tasty and yummy 😋 served with raitha. Service was good and friendly staff. If you looking for Indian food in Ljubljana do visit the place. Highly recommend.

The ambience is fine, nothing special. The first time I entered the restaurant I honestly was not that excited about how the place looked like. I would say it’s a bit cramped and a bit to dark, maybe even a bit cluttered. They have a sitting area inside but also on the outside. The staff is fast, efficient and friendly. The presentation of the food and drinks is nice, a bit different. The food was delicious. The Lamb Korma was delicious, not spicy at all. The lamb was suuuper tender and delicious. And I don’t usually even like lamb meat. The naan breads were delicious, we tried the garlic, chill and butter. All were great. The chicken tikka masala was delicious as well, a bit spicy, but not too much. The chicken pieces could have been a little more tender, but it was delicious non-the less. Vegan korma was a bit spicy, but really delicious. The curry as well. I absolutely recommend this restaurant. I think we paid approximately 12-15 € per dish. I would say the price is fair, the food is delicious, and one dish is definitely enough for one person, especially if you order some extra naan breads. Also, they offer a lot of different dishes, the menu is quite large.

Super tasty, flavourful food! The different breads are just divine and slow made. Didn't bloat a girl up at all! The samoosas were just spot on with the perfect balance of crispy and soft. A lot of vegan options to fill you up!

Indian restaurant serving food with good quality and very close to original indian food. Had Mutton rara which was very tasty and with well cooked Mutton pieces. A bit too much tomato pieces in it with Mutton Keema. Tandoori roti was perfect. Masala papad was also good. They also asked my preference and made the food spicy as I requested. Ambience was good and it seems to me a famous restaurant considering the heavy footfall even on a weekday. Would certainly like to visit again.

I chose the tomato soup, which had a rasam-like flavor. But, the rasam tasted good. Food was okay. Although there weren't many customers, the service was generally satisfactory. However, the staff appeared rushed.

Amazing Indian food with good portions and reasonable prices. The waiters are attentive and were quick to find us a table despite us not having a reservation. Would definitely recommend if looking for good Indian cuisine in Ljubljana, especially considering the central location of the restaurant.

Nice restaurant with a terrace, perfect for a warm summer evening. It's a pity both the chicken tikka tandoori and salmon chicken tandoori came with zero side dish: no rice, no naan, and hardly any vegetables.

Food is absolutely gorgeous. Only tried vegetarian recipes but i love it....

Rather disappointing all around. Aloo Chaat was not as expected (that is traditionally prepared with yogurt, tarmind sweet chutney and mint chutney and Chaat masala). Rather it was an odd salad of bell peppers onions and boiled potatoes and lacking distinctive spices. The zaffrani paneer tikka was poorly made as well, with insufficient coating of the paneer and lacking overall spice and flavor and undercooked accompanying vegetables. The paneer itself was tough and had a plasticy tasting coating. The mint chutney had an odd spoiled taste as well. Service was also almost non existent. My water was never refilled even after asking twice about it and it felt I was just being ignored by by waitstaff in general. The only positive was it's location on the river and lovely view.

A review coming from an Indian living in Ljubljana!! I came to try out Indian cuisine with little to no expectations of getting real taste. This is fine as the ingredients make huge impact and they are hard to find outside India. When I entered the restaurant the staff asked with a rude voice "What do you want?". Well, I'm here for food (shrug). Anyways, I smiled it off. Not everyone's day is good. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, 2 Garlic Naans, 1 Hyderabadi Biryani and a Mango Lassi. - Garlic naan & Mango Lassi was well made. Bravo. - Chicken tikka, had very concentrated flavour filled with spices which comes in a bowl. Expected a bit bigger quantity since we're paying huge. - Hyderabadi biryani. I'm sorry but it was not Hyderabadi biryani at all. It was a green colour Jeera Rice with chicken. Common, at least make an attempt to cook it by it's name. But green jeera rice as Hyderabadi Biryani? Per my opinion, it’s expensive compared to the amount of food you get there. Malasa Papad 4+ Euros? Thats a lot.

Great Indian food, one of the best in Ljubljana. Always delicious! Highly recommended! Recently it has became more expensive, as many other restaurants in LJ but portions are big and quality of food is great. Staff is always nice too.

Went with my wife who used to stop here regurarly when she lived in Ljubljana. They serve a grilled cheese she loves and their mango lassie is also divine. I’m more for the simpler dishes like chicken curry, but it is great with some butter naan and the mango lassie.

The waitress is an angel !! Kind, helpful, polite, and funny. As for the food, everything was delicious, and more than enough. It was spicy, flavorful, and on point. Great Indian restaurant in Ljubjana

Visited Namaste Restaurant and left with a satisfying experience. It gets a solid 4 out of 5 from me. The menu offers a good variety of Indian dishes, each with its unique flavor profile. The food was good overall, with some dishes standing out more than others. While nothing was extraordinarily amazing, every dish was prepared well and had authentic Indian taste. 🍛 The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant, and the staff were friendly and attentive. A great place for a decent Indian meal, especially if you're exploring different options in the area. Would recommend for a casual dining experience! 🍽️

Set on the side of the river this is a beautiful restaurant with authentic and different dishes to what you would find in an Indian restaurant in the UK. The spinach soup was just what was needed due to it being -6°C outside! Full of flavour with little pieces of garlic in it, very tasty! Main dishes came with rice so ordered the mixed breads to go with it. Lots of flavour, selection and really would've fed up to 6 people, we admitted defeat after demolishing more than half of it between 2 of us. Service was excellent, non-intrusive, but very friendly. Would highly recommend a visit here. 1 star taken off for atmosphere but then again we did visit late and they were due to close - probably much better earlier on in the evening when it's more lively, but don't let that put you off.

We had high expectations as we have already been to the express one. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the overall experience. First of all the taste of all the food that we tried was great. So, full point for taste but the quantity was super small, specifically the rice. I mean the amount of rice was less than the amount of butter chicken. Also, what we noticed is that the price of all the items are a bit more than the other one (express) and we had no idea why. Basically we paid more for the same food. I would recommend the Namaste Indian express rather than this one.

A nice Indian restaurant in Ljubljana serving great tasting Indian food. The chana bhature could improve with better tasting chole. The chole lacked the authenticity of a North Indian dish. The dahi vada, salt lassi and the aloo Paratha were all awesome.

This is a very strange place, the restaurant is divided into 2 parts so if you want to drink you cannot sit anywhere but in the front part of the restaurant and they are rude about it too. The food is very average in my opinion and a little pricey.

We had lunch here and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service. Everything we tried was really good and staff was really efficient and attentive so if you like Indian food I can really recommend this restaurant.

The main courses were really good, however the Naan could have been better. Prices for food and drinks were appropriate. Unfortunately the service lacked adequate quality: we had to wait long until somebody would take our orders, bring drinks and ask whether we would like to order anything else. Furthermore, several items (both drinks and food) that were listed on the menu, could not be served.

I'm a bit disappointed, I asked if it was possible to take a dish without the spices and the waiter told me no problem. The dish had the spices... It would've been easier to just tell me that it was not possible for them and I would've chose something else.

Very friendly English speaking staff. Loads of Vegetarian options. Very fast aswell. Went for takeaway and paid some 30 euros for 2 People and had a good amount of leftovers.

I am not an expert in Indian food, but I do eat all over the world. This was really good food. Lots of complex flavors, everything that we ordered was delicious. Fast service, great staff and good prices. Highly recommended.

Solid food, missing some salt on all dishes, especially in Naan bread. Understaffed a bit, waiters rarely come to your table unless you call explicitly. Nice view near main street for people wathing.

When asked them to make dishes spicy for me (I am indian) , they did so very well. Very reasonably priced and good service attitude. Quick turn around time for an Indian place.
