I highly recommend this restaurant for the best brunch! Everything is deliciously made from scratch. The “egg in the hole” avocado toast and custard-covered French toast were amazing. There is parking nearby and the location is great for exploring the city sites.

The best brunch I ever had. We ate here during a road trip around Austria and Slovenia, back in 2018 and this is still the best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had !! I was randomly thinking about the food and decided to post a review. I’ll definitely go back to this restaurant when I visit Slovenia again.

Very kind and helpful staff, and the super delicious breakfast was always ready in 10 minutes - so we went back 3 times to have breakfast there! Highly recommended.

Easily the best brunch place in Ljubljana. We went to several different brunch places during our trip and none of them had the classics done well! You can have great eggs, waffles and sandwiches. The coffee is good enough but the food is what you should come for!

This place definitely is on the pricier side, but it’s very nice too! The location, seating right at the river, is so cute. They offer a great selection of breakfast foods and drinks & everything we tried was really yummy. Would recommend!

Really good breakfast/brunch. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly. I highly recommend their special eggs Benedict with pulled beef. It’s a bit pricey and the food took a while to come out (the place was packed!), but I still give them 5 stars for the quality of food.

Wow. Amazing brunch! Must try!!! Was walking along the river hoping to find a place for breakfast and we stumbled upon this incredible bistro. The façade looks very ordinary. There was even ongoing roadworks happening just in front of the entrance so I was a little hesitant at first. Good thing we still went in! The brick wall and ceiling interior adds a nice vibe to the place. The food was amazing. Very big portions considering the price. Food presentation was similarly great! Just look at the picture I took! Food and coffee were served within a few minutes. Food quality and flavour are outstanding. Staff who attended to us was also kind and welcoming. Overall, well deserved 5/5! Would come here again next time I visit Ljubljana. I highly recommend!!!

We went here yesterday and the power sadfully went off but we wanted to go back the next day. It was really crowded but the server recognised us and insisted that we would get a table. The service was amazing! Our food was amazing and also looked so good, 10/10!!

Wow, one of the best breakfast/brunch we ever had. The french toast was beyond good. Food has a nice presentation. The place got an industrial-like atmosphere. The dishes might be overpriced for some people, but it is worth every penny.

A cute cafe tucked away just outside the main old town area, near the dragon bridge. We came for breakfast and were not disappointed by their egg dishes, which is their speciality. We also ordered some add ons to our main and found the fruit bowl was large and had plenty of different fruits including banana and persimmon. We found the shashouka a bit on the gluggier side but the flavour was great. We also ordered a freshly pressed orange juice which was quite small given the price, but overall a nice experience and worth visiting to get out of the main area. Staff were also very friendly

Very cute place with friendly service and delicious food. The portions were great and will definitely not leave you hungry. The items on the menu are great and you cannot go wrong with any choice.

Cute place. Nice rustic feel French toast was super. Spinach omlete was good. Avocado on toast could be on toasted bread. This could be better. Sat indoors as too cold. The river side seating would be wonderful in summer.

Came here as many websites recommended it and we were not disappointed! All the classics were here (Ham/ Salmon benedict, avocado sourdough bread, croissants etc) and tasted great, substitutions are no problem and everything was freshly prepared and very tasty, especially their fries which were nothing short of amazing- skin on, crispy outside, soft (not mushy!) inside, well seasoned. I can also recommend the eggs with cracklings (apparently a Slovenian speciality), scooping up the yolk with Brioche was a real treat! Portion size is not too big, not too small, exactly right. We could not help ourselves and ordered more items nonetheless :) As with pretty much any other restaurant we visited in Ljubljana the staff was very courteous and the views next to the river pleasing. Wholeheartedly recommended!

In addition to decaf espresso and alternative milks (rice milk, oat milk, and almond milk), EK Bistro also offers one vegan option for breakfast! It is an avocado toast topped with fresh fruits and tomatoes, and it is quite delicious. The prices seemed to be a little higher than average. Our waitress was very friendly. I would recommend EK Bistro for those looking for hearty breakfast, and for groups with someone who needs a vegan option!

Fancy cafe at the bank of the river. There is a possibility to sit outside or inside. A quite popular place, at the time I visited it, the cafe was full of guests. The waiters speak English. WiFi works perfectly. There are some national food, healthy and vegan options available too (not some much, but still it is good to mention them in menu).

EK Bistro is a cozy bistro in Ljubljana. The food is good, but the prices are a bit on the high side. I had an omelet and a glass of juice for 15 euros, which I thought was a bit too much. The quality of the food is also not as good as it used to be. Amazing brunch menu! The avocado bread was delicious and the coffee was also very enjoyable. We sat outside in the sunshine which added to the amazingly calm atmosphere! Highly recommend!

One of the few places in Ljubljana to have a really good brunch!! If you are looking for something else than a coffee for breakfast, this is a great option to try. Delicious food as Benedict eggs, salmon, avocado, salads, fruits, waffles, croissants or more! Taste is super good and the location is more than excellent, alongside to the Ljubljanica river in a quite zone near to the dragon bridge is the perfect place to enjoy your morning! Afternoons are also great to enjoy with a beer or a glass of wine! Dober tek!

Fantastic little place by the river with reasonable priced meals and friendly service. Sitting right by the river is best on mild Ljubljana morning. Omelete is creamy and cooked to perfection.

This place is very nicely decorated. It’s a bit industrial and modern. They offer a small menu which makes it easy to choose what to order. I came for brunch and I decided to go for the classic Benedict. We also ordered their pulled beef sandwich. I have to say, I was really disappointed with the hollandaise sauce on the Benedict. It was VERY thick and it was a bit sour. It almost looked like nacho cheese. And I’m confused because on their photos on google, many others have gotten a Benedict with the right hollandaise sauce. Perhaps the chef that day didn’t know how to make it so they served a very bad sauce with the meal. I’m not sure what happened, but honestly, it was very bad. Not a Benedict whatsoever. The pulled beef sandwich was not bad! The taste was good. The service was regular. The server took a long time to take our order after we told her we needed 1 more minute to look over the menu. And she forgot to bring me a cup of ice. To be fair, it was very busy. So I can understand why she forgot. But the service was not spectacular nor terrible. It was just okay. I would probably come back to this place to try something else, but I’d be very hesitant to try their Benedict again. I think considering the quality and quantity of food, the price is a bit on the pricier side. But not too expensive.

We were trying to get breakfast in Ljubliana anywhere, then we were advised by a local to go here. Nevertheless this was a really great recommendation. Lesson learned: Just ask the locals. This place was at first empty cause we got there real early but slowly the crowd of students poured in. It was so great sitting here at the river by sunshine and having a really tasty breakfast.

a very popular breakfast / brunch place in Ljubljana, and quite rightly so. the eggs benedict are cooked to perfection and the hollandaise is one of the best in town. bacon is crispy and the fries absolutely delicious. the shakshuka is a miss for me, but it is nice to see on the menu the piece de resistance is the french toast with a finger smacking custard and topped with fresh fruits of the season. make sure to get some coffee with it, and it's good to share 🙂 if traveling on a budget, this may not be a place to go though

Good Service, we took the EK Plate which is a very good breakfast platter, similar to a brunch meal but all in one plate. I didn’t like the macchiato (it was more an espresso with cream than a macchiato in my opinion where you usually have more milk tuan coffee). Great industrial design for the toilets btw, however they should fix the wc main door because it rattles overtime someone goes inside.
