Mesarski mostThe Butchers Bridge (Mesarski most) is Ljubljana's bridge of love.  The countless lovers here have symbolically locked their love and thrown the keys into the Ljubljanica River flowing under the bridge. The Butchers' Bridge, built in 2010, connects Plečnik's market with Petkovškovo nabrežje (Lungoljubljanica) and stands on the spot where a bridge was designed by architect Jože Plečnik almost 100 years ago during the construction of the market hall.  The conception of the bridge is partially artistic, this being characterized by the statues of the Slovenian sculptor Jakov Brdar. Leave your lock there

The Butchers' Bridge (Slovene: Mesarski most) is a footbridge crossing the river Ljubljanica in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It connects the Ljubljana Central Market and the Petkovšek Embankment (Petkovškovo nabrežje). The bridge was solemnly opened on 10 July 2010. Love padlocks on the Butchers' Bridge The original idea for a bridge on the site was expressed in the 1930s by the architect Jože Plečnik. The modern bridge, which is far more simple than the original plan, features a staircase at its left entry, a glass walking belts at the sides, and two fences with steel wires and wide top shelves. It was designed by Jurij Kobe from the Atelier Arhitekti studio. It is decorated with works by the sculptor Jakov Brdar.

"Mesarski most" or "Butcher's" bridge is a wide footbridge in Ljubljana over Ljubljanica river. Opened in 10th of July 2010. It was built on the site were butchers used to sell there goods, hence the name. It has a lot of "creepy" sculptures and little creatures on the bridge fences. Soon after the bridge was built people started to put key locks on the wires that act as bridge fences - love locks. At the north end there is, or are the statues of Adam and Eve, ashamed, just having been banned from Paradise. At one bridge end is one of the public toilet facilities in the city center. The northern river bank is riddled with bars and small shops, i can recommend you to visit one if you are tired, but probably more interestinf - on the south side there is the main farmer's market of the city. The arcades, well, the building directly next to the river was designed by the world famous architect Jože Plečnik.

Nice place to take a photo. This is called Love Locks Butchers' Bridge & occupies the site where butchers' booths were once located. Unusual site filled w/creepy figures & love padlocks. Soon after the opening of the bridge padlocks, couples in love started hanging locks on it.

Mesarski most or Butcher’s Bridge is one of the bridge that crosses the Ljubljanica River for pedestrians only. It is not as famous as the Triple Bridge, but still a captivating design, showing how the styles of architecture have changed over time. One side of the bridge has become a place for couples to hook their padlocks on. The bridge is also home to religious sculptures, on top of the bridge's fence you’ll find some smaller ones of frogs and shellfish too.

A very famous bridge over the Ljubljanica river, connecting the market on one side and many bars on the other. Part of the bridge is made of glass, so you can see the river under your feet. The bridge is also known for its many locked locks on the railing.

Worth visiting if you're in town. Some padlocks even have stories attached to them but there's way too many of them. You'll definitely walk across this bridge many times even if you're only in Ljubljana for just one day.

The amount of padlocks 🔒 in this bridge is amazing. Below the bridge you can actually take the boat ⛴️ trip that makes a tour by the water river, costs around 25€ for 2 adults.

Very cute bridge with the “sLOVE” padlocks. The statues are cool and well placed. As you can see in photo- glass was covered up with turf for some reason so we didn’t get to a “see through” walk.

One more Ljubljana’s bridge. Walking around the city, it is fun to cross the river using each bridge.

Interesting statues of Prometheus, Satyr, and Adam and Eve. Also has a lot of love padlocks on the sides!

The statues are weird. I'm sure they mean something, at least to someone. Intriguing. I've seen similar art in Prague. The glass panels of the bridge are neat. As well as the locks on the sides and the green lights underneath. Great bridge. Leads to the market on one side or local restaurants on the other.

Nicely executed decoration of a very useful bridge, cutting the road to old part of the city by couple of minutes.

One of the bridges that crosses the Ljubljana River, only open to pedestrians. It's the designated love locks bridge in Ljubljana so if you're a romantic kind, this is the bridge for you to declare your love to your significant other. The bridge is slightly less crowded than the main Triple Bridge, with some statues around to add in to the atmosphere. Bridge is also wide to allow ample space for pedestrians and connects to cafes on both sides. Gives a good view too of the old town portion. Nevertheless it's still a bridge, not as famous as the Dragon Bridge or the Triple Bridge, so it's recommended for you to just stroll around the river and cross the different bridges until you had enough of bridges.

This bridge has some interesting architecture. Both sides of the bridge has glass on which you can walk. It was a nice experience. There are several small statues nearby which are also well built.

Interesting statues situated along the river. The bridge has locks over the railing, which looks like a kind of lover's bridge. Across the bridge, there is a very majestic building with very beautiful architecture.

Nice foot bridge in the center of Ljubljana. It's wide and has a partially glass floor. It provides unique views of the river.

Beautiful view. Try to avoid going in the rain, though. Find a nice pub and settle in until the sun comes out.
