The most beautiful temple in Ljubljana. What a gorgeous door! Very nice. high ceiling with magnificent paintings by artists. entrance 2 euros. provides emptiness in the temple from different tourists.

It’s a lovely church. Why three stars? Cos They ask for 2€ to enter. Maybe cos I’m Italian, so I’m used to our churches all around, with marbles and frescos etc, but I have to admit I probably wouldn’t give those euros again if I were to come back. The entrance door though is quite unique.

Beautiful church, outside with pictures on the walls and details on the door. From the entrance you will be amazed by the interior. In the Baroque style it is covered with frescoes and statues, a gilded pulpit and a stunning roof. The photographs are not adequate to do justice to this magnificent cathedral. So spend time touring and just watching this amazing work of art. A must if you are passing by.

Nice baroque church. The entrance ticket cost 2€. Unfortunately after sunset, event if the cathedral is open, there is no light and you can barely see something with small lights in the chapels.

Located right on the main street so it's easy to find. Great interior and nice place to cool off. Cost a few euros to enjoy.

Located in the city center, Ljubljana Cathedral or Saint Nicholas's Church is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ljubljana with historical stories, impressive baroque architecture and details designed on the outside of the church. It was a pity that the tour didn't have enough time to let us visit inside the church.

The entrance costs two euros, which seemed fair to me. There aren't many people, or at least at the time I went (January) it was like that. beautiful architecture

Absolutely gorgeous cathedral. Love the story behind the side door. Go for the Free Walking Tour to find out more. I'll let the pictures speak for itself!

Came here as a tourist, not as a worshiper. Absolutely stunning cathedral - would recommend to any tourist doing a day tour of Ljubljana. Probably would spend about 15-30 minutes there at most.

It's a very pretty church but isn't free, the cost is 2 euro. Especially for very limited areas that you can visit.

Katedrala svetega Nikolaja (St. Nicholas Cathedral) is a prominent Catholic cathedral located in the heart of Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia. It is also known as Ljubljana Cathedral or Stolnica in Slovene. The construction of the cathedral began in the early 18th century, replacing a previous church that stood on the same site. The Baroque-style cathedral was designed by the Italian architect Andrea Pozzo and was completed in 1706. However, it underwent further renovations and modifications over the years. The exterior of St. Nicholas Cathedral features a stunning green dome, which is one of the most recognizable symbols of Ljubljana's skyline. The facade is adorned with elaborate sculptures and intricate details, showcasing the grandeur of the Baroque architectural style. Inside, visitors can admire beautiful frescoes, altars, and statues that enhance the overall ornate interior. The cathedral holds great religious significance for the Catholic community in Ljubljana and serves as the seat of the Archbishop of Ljubljana. It is not only a place of worship but also a significant cultural and historical landmark in the city. Visitors to St. Nicholas Cathedral can attend Mass, explore the interior, and appreciate the religious art and architecture. The cathedral is open to the public, and entrance is generally free, although donations are appreciated to support the maintenance and preservation of the building. The location of the cathedral in the city center makes it easily accessible, and it is often included in guided tours of Ljubljana's historical sites. It is also a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, offering a serene and contemplative atmosphere within the bustling cityscape

A low profile cathedral but worth visiting for only €2. The door you through which you enter is impressive and worth seeing alone

Tourist point of view. You have to pay 2 euros for a ticket, but totally worth it - the interior is gorgeous!

Nice cathedral located in the center of the city. Be aware of the working hours and that it has a paid entrance (2€).

With its classic twin towers and trademark single, weather-worn green dome, the city’s cathedral encapsulates everything that's Ljubljana. Small and interesting, but not too exciting at first glance, a longer look at its history and finer details reveals its hidden charm and beauty. Built on the site of a much earlier church, the cathedral’s main structure and appearance date from the first half of the 18th century.

Beautiful in an understated way. Not flash and pretentious like some of the bigger cities in this part of Europe. Highly recommended.

It's a nice small cathedral, like many others just like this one. But nothing surprising and special that would require you to pay 2€ entrance fee. In my opinion. From outside quite ugly honestly, need renovation. Hopefully all these € will provide it.

After out tour of the castle, this is the first stop before we venture in to the main city square. Also known as Saint Nicholas Church or Cathedral. The cathedral has 2 massive bronze doors that you have to take a look at. Take notice of the shiny spot on the right side of the door. I guess people believed that rubbing it would bring luck. So go ahead rub it if you see the spot. The Baroque exterior of the cathedral looks a bit modern and admittedly not too impressive. Walk inside and you will change your mind as the stunning interiors takes over.
