Cool air and elevator. Lots of old things. More of international history of Africa, Maya indian, Amazon than Slovenian history. There is own place for children. I prefer to see more from Slovenia as tourist point of view. So maybe change a bit the always staying exhibition would be good ☺️ The exhibition area looks nice, made by interior designer. When i visited museum very few visitors. Entrance fee 3€ as a student.

“Life is art, and art is life” Slovenian Ethnographic Museum had Rich collection, especially between nature and culture on third floor. You can see the context of European history-from daily necessities, religions, festivals, and traditional artwork creation. This permanent display of diverse European aspects, a very in-depth experience. The museum movement is clear and orderly, recommended 👍

I enjoyed the third floor, which has the main ethnographic exhibits. Much of the third floor has English translation. The other floors (1st & 2nd) are exhibitions and little English. The ground floor is just functional areas, including a woman doing hand weaving on a loom who is more than anxious to show you her wares and sell you something. One star off for the very abrupt young woman at the ticket desk who apparently had predetermined I had nothing important to say as she interrupted me every time I tried to speak!

Modern museum with interesting exhibitions. Unfortunately, a portion of the informational texts were only in Slovenian (I was made aware of this fact at the ticket office, however)

I would have given a five, but the layout is so confusing that you need alone time faction figure out when and where does it start. The lady at the door has offered to explain things. Things are translated into English, and the building has AC. I would recommend you spend afternoon there, too bad that the layout is so confusing.

An interesting museum, with very few people and the impression that the staff are very absent, that's my opinion... But it was a good visit to discover new things

Some nice exhibitions, sadly most of the text was not available in English but only in Slovene language. Still worth a visit.

Very nice and quiet museum. Located near the contemporary art museum, is located inside a three story building. Starting from the top floor which is reachable through a very cool window elevator, there is the true ethnographic museum with the permanent exhibition with a very well cared space for kids. On the second floor she I visited there was a special exposition for the 100 years of the museum. And finally on the first floor a series of exhibition that changes over time. The prices are surprisingly cheap, 6 euros the regular ticket and 3 with the student discount. Overall the thing that I liked the most was the peace inside the museum probably because on a rainy Sunday people were doing other things and I only met three other visitors in my entire stay in the building.

Amazing museum about cultures throughout the world. Very detailed and not too big. I suggest you take it easy and not hurry through. There are many videos you can watch about the different cultures.

They are great and informative collections in both Slovenian and English (but fewer) descriptions with videos and pictures. The route is well-designed. The staff is friendly and helpful. Well-recommended!

Interesting anthropological museum demonstrating a relationality between humans and their material constructs. Some interactive exhibits too. Lacked occasional English translation too, but I understand!

Interesting exhibition on the 3rd floor, lacks a little bit more of context and also English descriptions It’s a nice place to visit if you have some spare time

They had free workshop to make spring model river boats. Slovenes have that tradition for local love festival Gregorjevo that is held 12.3. Museum is small comparable to other similar museum aroud the globe. But lovely and worth to visit.

Whoever is interested in etnography (with a special accent on Slovenia), will be happy to visit. The exposition also contains furniture designed by the architect Josip Plečnik - this was the most interesting part for me (but this is really very personal choice). The building is situated in former army barracks, quite a remarkable reconstruction/redefintion deed from an architectural viewpoint. Parking places, with moderate pay, available in the streets in immediate vicinity. Alltogether a nice place, in particular on a rainy day :-)

It was packed with a lot of interesting stuff, but there was no clear path where to start and where to go. I do like the interactive things inside the museum, though.

Great setup, we were in the museum for 2 hours, I had a feeling that I saw only the half of it. Great experience for kids. All generations actually.

Ten stars! Great museum, must see. Mainly about Slovenian culture and social history. Most museums in Lubljiana are free entry on the first Sunday of every month.

Perfect experience, worth a visit. Museum that puts the pieces in a context.

The surroundings are dangerous (very popular narco place) where cases of kids being spiked by used needles were reported. Don't go there by night. And the municipality seems to support narco gatherings, as nearby they will be building a new and cosy narco methadon centre. Bravo! The museums themselves are, well, ok. Nothing to shout about and hurry visit, but it's an ok experience. But this place could be soooo much nicer and good looking if they would do one very simple thing. Just like in Paris for example: simply put high fences around those few entry points. Is this so hard or what? Seems like the management of this place fell asleep or they just don't care about safety, and the interior surroundings of the place being so badly deteriorated because of the "nightlife" (and shameless daylife as weell happening there - people taking a needle out there in the open) ... But I heard those parents will seek court action, so I guess something really bad needs to happen for things to move from a dead point.

Very few exhibits with english text

Limited explanation in English but very enjoyable. Foreigners get to learn how the locals perceive the rest of the world.

Very well thought out and curated exhibits, providing a fascinating insight into Slovenian life and society. A lot of written information, mostly in Slovene, but some also in English. I hope more English language material (either in audio or visual form) gets added in the future.

Great museum near the train station. Excellent if you have some time left waiting for your train. The exhibitions were quite big and detailed. Spending more than 1 hour here is no problem. Prices are also incredible. 3€ for student ticket and 6€ for a standard ticket. (At least that is the price on a weekday) TL;DR: Great price for what you get Can recommend!
