Very well-kept lodging with extremely helpful staff and beautiful interior! The in-house breakfast is freshly made with local ingredients—it is well worth it as an add-on.

I stayed at Hotel Mrak around the third week of June 2022 for four nights, what a charming, picturesque and quaint hotel, when i checked it, Nina was at the front desk, she is the hotel manager and her family owns the property. Wow!!! I was tired because I took the local bus from Piran Slovenia, as soon as I started to talk to NIna, which the hotel bar is like 1.2 meters from check in, I said "Nina I need some help" Immediately, Nina said sure and offered me an espresso, I told her that I would like to book a trip to Lake Bled, Postojna Cave, Predjama Castle & local attractions. Nina is a gem, she swiftly got on the phone with Slovenian Explorer (highly recommend), next thing you know, I had a tour, promptly, after that I told her that I loved wine and she had a stellar pick, this wine was delicious. The stay, Hotel Mrak, was what I was searching for, a charming location, staff which were all spot on and attention to detail, I had a rough patch in my life and I was looking for a hotel that made me feel great, Hotel Mrak went above and beyond, the rooms are clean, modern and smart, Hotel Mrak simply is a good feel. Solo travel, by far this was one of my best stays, currently, I have visited 33 countries, so I have as you say "been around the block" On my checklist, this Hotel is Amazing!!! Airport Transfer, at the time of writing this from the hotel to LJU the cost was 35 euros, pro tip from speaking to staff, the hotel can arrange a pickup from the airport to the hotel (currently, I don't think uber or lyft operates in country) the hotel has a reliable service that they use. Probably the best and most delicious breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. I do not eat cheese or ham or sausage, so the smoked salmon really made my day - and it was very very very delicious smoked salmon. Also, everyone there was incredibly helpful and friendly. Location is superb and my room (107) was quiet. Thank you for a great stay.

The hotel is located 5 minutes from the very center and the most important sights. The rooms are clean, the breakfast in the restaurant is excellent, there is an option to choose a dish from the menu so that it is warm and fresh. All meals are prepared with good quality products (the hotel even has eggs from a friendly source!). This hotel deserves more than 3 stars!

A boutique family-run hotel with attentive customer service. Very clean and quiet room and location was very convenient. Breakfast spread was superb! Thanks to Arif who made us feel very welcomed from the moment we stepped into the hotel.

My first impressions of the hotel were positive. The place is nicely decorated and has its own style. Check in was easy and friendly. I did ask for a twin room with separate beds, but I was instead given a double room with a sofa bed. This worked ok, as the sofa bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. It was possible to order hot food, such as omelettes and pancakes. The location is excellent. It's central, but not in the very touristy part. It's easy to get to the main attractions, and there are good restaurants nearby.

Lovely hotel with very helpful staff!! The room was European size, clean and comfortable. The staff went above and beyond to help me with a lost passport and lost luggage and helped to hire a taxi for me to go to the airport to retrieve my passport.

Modern stylish hotel right in the city centre, at a stone's throw from many cafès and restaurants. Spacious, finely decorated rooms, lovely breakfast. Absolutely delightful service. I will definitely come back again.

Our rented e-bikes were stolen from their interior, locked and gated courtyard!!! The exact place they told us to store them. Bikes were locked. Never heard an apology or anything at all from management, they did not seem to care. Only concerned about not accepting responsibility for bikes. Entrance not secure late at night, no person at desk and doors wide open. Just for their lack of concern and ownership of the theft issue, I do not recommend.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Pekarna Apartments, and I must say that it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The level of unfriendly service and lack of customer friendliness left a sour taste in my mouth. First and foremost, the main issue arose due to a booking error on our part. Upon check-in, we immediately informed the staff at the Hotel Mrak (who manage the check-in and payment for Pekarna Apartments) about the mistake. Despite acknowledging the error, they still proceeded to charge us for four nights instead of the three we had intended to stay. Shockingly, they never bothered to mention this to us, hoping we wouldn't notice on the invoice during checkout. This is nothing short of deceitful and dishonest behavior. When we realized the overcharge, we attempted to address the matter with them multiple times via phone and email. However, they exhibited a blatant disregard for customer service by not responding until a staggering ten days later. Such unprofessional conduct only further intensified our frustration. Beyond the poor customer service, the condition of the apartment was less than satisfactory. While it might have appeared acceptable at first glance, the air quality inside was dreadful and smelly whenever the air conditioning was turned off. This is not only uncomfortable but also potentially hazardous to health. Additionally, it's worth mentioning the surprising lack of basic amenities in the apartment. Salt and pepper, two kitchen staples, were not provided. When we inquired about this, the response we received was outright unfriendly, suggesting that we should purchase these items ourselves. This lack of consideration for guests' needs is simply unacceptable. In summary, I strongly advise against staying at Pekarna Apartments. The appalling level of customer unfriendliness and unresponsive behavior, coupled with poor air quality and missing amenities, make it an accommodation to avoid at all costs. Save yourself the headache and frustration, and look for alternative options that truly value their guests' comfort and satisfaction.

Very nice and small hotel close to the center of Ljubljana. The rooms were basic but very clean. The breakfast and service during breakfast time was awesome!

Went again to the hotel and they are doing their outmost to make your stay comfy. They also helped me out when Ljubljana was full and they found a ground floor room for me for which I am very thankful. This is a very good 3 stars hotel - nothing to complain. Even the manager who can be sometimes a bit tough :) was really helpful last time. I can recommend this place very much. Torn about the 4th star….. Don’t get me wrong, Mrak has clean and spacey rooms, nice table to work although small window in my room and overall fine. The hotel is at the beginning of the centre not in the heart as many others say. Staff friendly except had an issue with housekeeping. Usually do not like to go over housekeeping staff as they are the weakest link but when to start throwing away stuff that you shouldn’t and find cables on the floor that you haven’t touched in your bag for ages you start asking yourself questions. The best part of the hotel is that you are right next to my favourite top breakfast place called Le petit. No need to book breakfast as you have 20m next to the hotel your best Ljubljana breakfast place. I’ll give it another shot when I am next here in the hope that housekeeping will improve.

I had a lovely stay at Hotel Mrak— the room was nice (great bed), the food was very good, and most of all the service was exceptional. The owner and the young woman at the reception desk went out of their way to help me get a Covid test before I left early the next morning. I would highly recommend this wonderful little hotel.

Tiny cosy hotel in the very center of Ljubljana. Very friendly people, clean room with all necessities inkl. small fridge. A great start in the day is the breakfast with fresh, quality products also from the region (like juice from grapes grown in the hotels courtyard). Beside the buffett it is also possible to order from several warm dishes like omlette, pancakes and the so delicious Štruklji. It is absolute worth the try!

Perfect boutique hotel for a stay in Ljubljana. The location is walking distance to the old town and the new. Around the corner is one of the best French restaurants, Le Petit Cafe. Mrak has been family-owned and in existence for generations. The breakfast selection and quality is outstanding. Outside noise at night is high so bring your earplugs! Be sure to use GoOpti for cheap and reliable transportation to/from airport (which is approximately 30 mins away).

Highly recommend the Hotel Mrak for its central location in Ljubljana, excellent service, comfort, and delicious meals. We easily walked everywhere. Will return here on our next trip.

Wonderful stay at Hotel Mrak. This hotel is excellently located, just a few minutes away from the riverfront, and surrounded by some excellent restaurants. It is around 30 minutes away by taxi from the airport, and is one of the few areas in the city centre where you can get to by car/taxi. The hotel rooms itself are very comfortable, and the breakfast is outstanding! The garden at the back is also a wonderfully peaceful place to have a relax and a bite, and we chose to have our breakfast there on the last day. The only issue is that the airconditioning in the room sometimes made a very odd high-pitched noise, usually in the middle of the night, so if you are a light sleeper then that might bother you. Other than that, this was a gem of a hotel and we would definitely stay here again.
