The reception staff was not very polite on check-in. There were no lockers available for us in the room and the whole environment did not feel safe for me or my women traveler companions, no other female or young guests at the hostel. The bed layout is very strange in the shared rooms, and someone took our bed the first night, I assume by mistake, but it was still uncomfortable. The place is clean, but far from the center.

The hostel was dirty and badly run. As three young girls we did not feel safe. The manager let himself into our room in the middle of the night without knocking claiming that he wanted to check if the room was empty. The the walls were covered in marks and the room did not feel clean. We were also let into our room before it was cleaned after the last guests which was disgusting. We were so relieved to leave. You couldn't pay me enough to stay here again. It is definitely worth it to pay a bit more and stay somewhere else.

Cut my finger on a broken glass in the kitchen and the receptionist started shouting and swearing at me. He also let himself into the room in the middle if the night waking everyone up. Not only that but people were having loud conversations and playing music in the lobby all night keeping us awake. Also when it started raining there were drips coming from the ceiling and a puddle on the floor due to a leaky window.

The place was acceptable for our 1-night-stay on the way south. Simple but clean, but not necessarily a place where you would like to spend a one-week-holiday.

stay here for 2 nights, the place are located in quite residential area. Near to bus stop and infront of convenience store. You can buy food in the store and can cook it in the hostel. I thank to Denis, the hostel staff, whose very humble and helpful man.He drop us to city centre during his free time, another time he drop us in bus station when we want to move to other city. 👍👍

We chose this hostel in order to save money - which we did, but in no way did we expect to be waken up all through the whole night by banging on the doors and windows. The room was also quite smelly and wet and out of like 15 sockets, only three were actually working. Would recommend to look elsewhere.

The staff was helpful and friendly. The room had AC. Only issue was that there were no towels. I dont know if its a common thing for hostels. Too bad I shared my room with an idiot that didnt slept until 4 am.

Very friendly receptionist. It turned out that he has visited Indonesia a while ago! The room was also located directly beside the receptionist, so I can very quickly pack out after checking in. Fine for a stop over however location is very far out from the city centre, there were a lot of beds in quite a small room which didn’t give a lot of privacy. Even though the room felt quite newley renovated there were wires hanging down from the ceiling, holes in the ceiling and sockets weren’t properly fastened to the walls. There weren’t sanitary bins in the loos either and as there wasn’t a bath mat the shower rooms got very gross very quickly. Cash only is very old fashioned too.

Nice hostel in a quiet part of town. Very friendly host! There’s a kitchen available and the shared bathroom was very good. There’s a convenience store right outside the door and a vending machine at the reception. Rooms are compact with bunk beds. The only downside I can think of is that there weren’t any curtains in my room, but apart from that I had a nice stay.

The staff was beyond expectations helpful and friendly. They have a well equipped kitchen and large bathroom. I would definitely recommend this place for any solo traveler and family. Hope to see you again soon!

This hostel has very clean and well arranged room and the people at the reception are kind and accommodating. However, a few experiences made our overall stay kind of unpleasant. Firstly, the location is pretty far from the center (30/40 minutes walking) in a residential area. My friend and I were also woken up twice by the cleaning ladies coming into our room working really loudly around 10/11am which is a bit inconsiderate since we pay for a quiet night of sleep. Moreover, as two young women travelling, we found it quiet uncomfortable at times since there are a lot of old men, obviously not travellers that don’t speak a word of English and stare at you when passing. Although they mind their own business it still made us quite uncomfortable at times, especially when they were staying in the dorms. Finally my friend and I booked the same 6 person dorm online and she got put in a separate room with a bunk bed alone with a man. Although she moved back into my dorm room 2 days later, it just proves how this hostel is not fully comfortable for woman travellers. But it’s definitely not the worse place to stay in, the outside area is nice, the kitchen works well and there is a supermarket in front.

The recepcionist is very kind, the place is clean and next to a supermarket and the beds are comfy. The few negative points I can find are that it is a bit far from the city center (you can get a bus or rent a bike though) and it doesn't feel super safe if you are traveling alone, plus it doesn't have lockers. There was too much noise, the front door opens automatically 24/7 and you can hear it in the room, the ventilation too... the service was ok, clean

Nice place. I love good and positive vibes. All guests were very respectful and hostel facilities were nice. Also service was great. Only issue was with ventilation of the room. Rooms have almost no ventilation and there is a lack of fresh air, so it was very hard to sleep.

There are parking spots in front of the door, the staff is super friendly and the kitchen is clean. The lockers could be bigger but that's the only thing I can complain about. Ljubljana itself is a little beauty! I recommend everybody to visit.

Simbol Hostel is situated in a very quiet location just 15 min walk from the city center, and with a bus stop about 100 meters away. The property is kept very clean and the atmosphere is very nice. I can say that because I stayed in it for 22 consecutive days. A supermarket across the street and a nice and affordable restaurant 200 meters away, plus shopping centers nearby make it very convenient. There are bicycles for rent and parking space for about 11 cars. The staff is very nice, friendly, and helpful; thank you very much.
