The Cankar Centre or Cankar Hall (Slovene: Cankarjev dom) is the largest Slovenian convention, congress and culture center. The building was designed by the architect Edvard Ravnikar and was built at the southern edge of Republic Square in Ljubljana between 1977 and 1982. Construction was funded entirely by the Socialist Republic of Slovenia.

The galerija is a good exhibition space. The entrance is at the opposite side of the building from the direction I came, but the sign posts weren't clear. If you're looking for the galerija just walk around the building, you'll find the entrance if you don't follow the signs.

Cankarjev dom is a cultural centre that stands right across the parliament in the centre of Ljubljana. It hosts events such as concerts, theatre shows, gallery exhibitions etc. It is a beautiful building inside and outside. There are places where you can safely put away your coats, umbrellas and bags for free. It has multiple bug halls that are used for a variety of stuff. The staff is also very nice and helpful.

It' s ok, but it is a shame, that the main cultural institution was built in the communist era and not modernized since.

Nice concert hall in center of Ljubljana. Organization is good, friendly staff, just relax and enjoy in music and cheerful atmosphere.

Great acoustics. We were on the second balcony, on the side, and could see very well.

This is the most important building in Slovenia. It is a house of art. A home of muses. A poet's castle. This is the promised land, this is a home of Ivan Cankar, the writer. It has three large concert halls, many galleries and all are welcome here. Visit anytime, you won't regret it. Underneath its massive structure, million tons of reinforced concrete, there is a huge atomic bunker.

Beautiful multifunctional concert hall. Colours of the interior are timid, only to welcome the colourful audience. Enjoyed several, very different concerts there, each doing great.

The building is not too beautiful but the concert hall has great acoustics.

The large concert hall is great and has bery nice set of pipe organs, a room for orchestra under the stage and a large stage. The seats are comfortable (3 hours of sitting without issues) and accoustics are great. Four stars out of five because I can not say anything of the other parts of the establishment and can't judge it properly.

Was a bit loud for a rock concert. But great event.

A venue for cultural events and business events. Quite famous for it's variety of available occasions. The venue itself is modern and always delivers on service and professionalism. If you ever get invited to this venue be sure to dress well and bring your business cards. The venue has it's own parking garage which isn't for free, but if you go shopping to the fashion stores nearby you could get a parking fee discount if your purchase exceeded a certain amount.

Cankarjev dom is the largest cultural center in Slovenia. Has several concert halls. Is very well acoustically equipped, enables high production. Many concerts, plays, dances, exhibitions, films, lectures and much more are hosted here. Drinks are available in the lobby. The largest hall allows the participation of 1500 people. You can buy tickets online and avoid the crowds. Is located in the center of Ljubljana. You can park in garages in the immediate vicinity.

After many decades of existence without any major renovation the building is still in good condition and serving its purpose very well. Location is very practical. Besides they are hosting many great performers every year.

Horrible chairs... less leg space than sitting on the budget airline's planes. The seat allocation is not bad though.

Gallus hall is unbelievable. 🤩 Loved balcony, loved the view also from right down below directly in front of the stage. Amazing sounding and what a high vibrations. No matter if event, live meditations, concert,... All 'bout sensations within me, wakening up all sleepy parts of ma' soul. 💛🌈💙🦋🌟 Grateful for such experiences. Staff was suuuper nice - we attract what/who we r deep inside.;) N sth was watching (over) us, hih 🧿🧿 Amazing

Very nice, modern concert hall close to Central Ljubljana. Just beware of the front row balcony seats, whose view of the stage is obstructed by the safety bars. To see clearly you need to sit on the front edge of your seats. Poor design.

Lovely concerts... but experience is ruined by the terrible bar service for intermission. 2 servers for 1000+ people mean that you need to choose between running to the bar at breakneck speed, having a glass of water or watching the show. Attending a concert is also about lounging in the foyer, meeting acquaintances and sharing a glass of bubbly. There is no worse location in Ljubljana if you want this.

Was OK. The orchestra was awesome but the sound acoustics was subpar. Could not distinct what the singers were singing.

Besides the concert I was on (concert of Martha Argerich) I really enjoyed the overall experience. The concert hall itself and the hall outside of the entrance are well maintained. At this specific concert I sat on the balcony and the music was just as great as sitting on the "base floor" (which indicates great reverb and well balanced construction). Would recommend to listen to a concert, if possible.

I am surely not adding this one star for this absolute marvel of an institution that still presents great theater and exhibitions. No, rather the appalling website management, lack of communication and incredibly unpleasant staff on the tickets counter which itself is hidden instead of being easily accessible. As if theater and culture has not suffered enough during the pandemic, this type of mismanagement and incompetence will surely deliver the death blow. So sorry to say I am not sure when this Institution will see my business again!

👍👍 Dive bar with Live music and quite special place when compared with the rest bars in old Town. At the moment listening qeens of the stone age music style. The place has nice vibes and also is suitable for disabled people who use wheelchair with little assistance because of double door entrance. Next...

👍👍 A cult underground Ljubljana's club, it's a venue for all the misunderstood genres of music, especially extreme metal! The place is small, but cozy, with a bar and even high chairs and stools for those who wants to relax before headbanging starts!
