We visited on their 1st day of reopening, April 16. Unfortunately due to construction, a few roads are closed so it is emphasized that you should take bikes or walk. We hired a local shuttle to take us there and back to Lake Bled. When we arrived at the entrance, we saw 15-20 cars had taken the same side route that we did to the main parking lot by the entrance. If you get there early, you may get lucky and a parking spot. Otherwise, I’d listen to their recommendation and take a shuttle, bike, or walk there. The gorge is well worth the visit. It took 45 min with two kids (8 & 6) to walk through. Pictures don’t do it justice. The kids really enjoyed the walk and it’s very safe and easy to do. At the end of the one way hike, you need to take a hike back to the entrance (min 45 min back), unless you took a shuttle. We took a shuttle and the pickup point was about 10 min past St Katherine church. Highly recommend doing this trip if you are staying in Lake Bled - even though it isn’t as easy as when you can simply drive your own car there.

10€ each and another 10€ to park. Not worth 30€. The gorge is beautiful, but considering it's not that long and it's only one way so you have to walk a different way back. It just isn't a good value. Lots of other beautiful hikes in the area that are free.

I don't think pictures or words can describe the beauty of this place. It's just amazing. It's a great place to spend a few hours in the nature, to just relax and enjoy the sound of the river. Notice that the starting path is a one way travel. To return to the parking spot, you have several options. We chose the red path, which is a 45 minutes walk through the forest. This was also a really nice activity.

The natural beauty of this place is simply brilliant. Visiting in September was a great decision; while the car park was bustling, we had a serene walk through the gorge with no crowd hassles. Getting tickets at the main entrance was a breeze. It will take you around 2-3 hours to the whole round trip as the actual gorge is on a one way system. I highly recommend following the green route to get back to the car park. It includes some nice views and grazing cows, sheep and horses. For prices: parking was €10 and entry is €10 per person. If the main area is full, there is also a extended car park accessible by a free shuttle bus that I believe comes every 20 min.

Ridiculously beautiful walk along the river showing nature at her best with running water, waterfalls, moss, a variety of flowers and clean fresh air. The walk is fairly easy and not far. Worth noting however that it is a one way trip and that you are either going to do a 45 minute. Modernate walk back (which is also gorgeous as the path we took had views of the city Bled and fields of cows) or you are going to pay for a taxi. Best come prepared for a longer hike.

Very beautiful trail, well maintained and absolutely worth the few coins. One small thing that we would have liked to know up front is, that it's only a one way trip. So you walk a beautiful gorge trail made of wood pathways on the cliff side, just to walk back via a random trail and road which isn't all that beautiful. There is an opportunity to take a transit back to where you started the gorge but we did not take it. We had a really good time enjoying the beauty of the gorge.

Breath-taking gorge with 2 possible trails. You must be there first thing in the morning as it gets quickly crowded. You can park right at the entrance of the trail. The first part goes through the gorges that are super impressive. A beautiful ambiance reign over the place. At the end there are toilets, a shop and a small viewpoint toward a waterfall. From there 2 options, a shorter trail up in the forest or a longer one around with beautiful view (we would recommend this one). Takes up to 3h for the whole experience. The parking was 5e and the entrance 10e per person.

Words can't explain how beautiful this place is. The water looks like something out of a movie. We did the "hike" with a 4 year old, 1 year old and 6 mo old with no issues. I wore flip flops and didn't have any problems. Parking was hard to find due to construction but thankfully there is a charter and bar/food stand at the end where they can drive you back to your car instead of walking the hour+ back. Overall, an amazing time.

Everything it advertises and more. This Stunning piece of nature is a must see when going to Slovenia. It's a paid entry but I get why the route is clean and well maintained. You have to pick a time slot so that it doesn't get crowded and that seems to work! Nice views and you have a mixture of sun and shade, ideal for warmer days where you will appreciate the spray from the falls

Impressive gorge close by Lake Bled. Even during weekdays it can become pretty busy and it's great that you can only visit the gorge one way. Entrance is 10€ per person and there's well built out facilities (food, bathrooms etc). Make sure to be there early as the southern parking 🅿️ spot may close quickly and you'll be diverted to the northern parking 🅿️ which is a 10-15 min drive.

Amazing natural beauty with clear waters and greenery. It’s a one-way walking tour through the gorge for 1.6km talking about 30 minutes. You then walk around and back to the car park. They have limited entry tickets available each day but we arrived mid morning on a Friday and easily got a ticket at the office. The walk from and back to Bled is also very pleasant and picturesque and highly recommended if you are happy with approximately 10km walking, it takes about 4 hours at a leisurely pace.

Very nice distress. Tickets can be bought online or on the spot. It's more convenient online. parking is available before the rush hour. The walk is not very difficult, also suitable for families with children. it is possible to return via two circuits. It is beautiful.

This place is definitely worth a visit , a wonderful walk around all the waterfalls and mountains. The views were breathtaking. Took about an hour to do the walk was totally amazing and definitely worth it. Not to be mossed

My favourite and most beautiful place in Slovenia. The gorge is enchantingly beautiful at every step of the way - the waters are turquoise blue and clear (you can spot fishes in it), there's a beautiful waterfall at the end, cliffs on both sides of the gorge, and the lush greenery around the whole place. The hike is also not too hot even on a summer afternoon as the gorge is mostly shaded from the sun and has cool water running through it. There's a bit of upwards climb sometimes and the path can be quite rocky and uneven, but if you take the easier green route, it is very manageable for a relatively fit person. Just take your time to slowly enjoy the view and rest if needed. It is a one way route (close to 1 hour) and you reach Šum waterfall at the end. From there, you could take a forested and uphill hike (abour 30min) towards the church where there's a restaurant nearby. This uphill climb is honestly much much tougher and steeper compared to the walk within the gorge. Then, proceed downhill to the town to get a bus. We arranged a two-way shuttle at a Lake Bled tourist center that picked us up from the town back to Lake Bled once we're done (17 EUR including Gorge entrance ticket for students, 20EUR for adults).

A breathtaking, must visit place in all seasons. Since it is one of Slovenia’s most popular attraction is does get very busy. If you really want to enjoy your time in the Vintgar Gorge it is recommended to get there either right after opening or about 2 hours before closing. Avoid weekends and holidays, if you can. When I say it does get busy I mean it! The gorge is one-way. On the way back to the parking lot take the green trail. It’s a bit longer than the red one, but the view is well worth the extra steps! Enjoy!

We went there with friends and kids. It was november and after rains. Few days ago we visited Tolminska korita which had bigger wow effect on us. This is nice walk but not worth 40 eur, incl. Parking. We used the red path on the way back via Blejska dubrava. It is a regular walk through forrests, nothing spectacular. There is a nice bridge and waterfall at the end of george but that is all. Also the parking was quite chaotic. I have a feeling this is a tax for being close to Bled.

Absolutely gorgeous. If you like beautiful surroundings and a good picture, definitely visit. We visited July 2021, there were very few people on the walkways and you could spend time enjoying the sights without much disturbance. Dogs are allowed at an additional fee, there are walkways so plenty of space. Definitely worth the small entrance fee, cards accepted.

Beautiful place! Make sure to check opening hours and give yourself at least 2h for a walk full of beautiful views. I recommend the path through Catarina's church

A must do attraction!! We visted the gorge at the end of April 2022 and thought it was the perfect start to our trip to Slovenia. The gorge is breathtaking with the boardwalk taking you right over the crystal clear water. We then crossed the river and returned via a trail on the West side of the gorge, taking around 90-120mins in total. Highly recommend this site.

Beautiful gorge near Bled, the path itself is not difficult. Entry with online ticket is recommended. Parking is possible at the entrance or in the village. The gorge is one way only, so either way expect a tour back to the parking car. Good to know: the route to the entrance is really sunny and hot in the summer, be prepared :)

Its nice to walk there but you must pay 20€ per person to go around. You can have small snacks and drinks on the way 3-4 times. River looks great. We had our dog with us.

Beautiful gorge with expensive parking, 10€. Be aware, that the gorge boardwalk is one way. You have to hike back to the parking lot over half an hour. There is a shuttle option, but the hike back is not so hard. There are at the end to nice location to rest. One directly at the end of the gorge's boardwalk and one 10 min walk away.

Very nice and well worth the €10 admission (plus €5 parking fee). Keep in mind the gorge is one way, and you cannot walk backwards up the gorge. You must walk 5km through the forest and a small village to get back to the entrance or take a €7 bus/taxi.

Amazing gorge, you must see it, if you are nearby. You walk over 1 km, near the rock wall, over quite few bridges, the water flowing below is cristal clear and just breathtaking. There is a fee that must be paid to enter the gorge (adult ticket 10€). Also you should do some planning beforehand regarding where you will park the car, so you park nearby the entrance. Also parking fee is quite high (at least 5€, if you park over 1.5 hours).

Beautiful walk in nature for 2-3 hours. We did it right after the rainfall so the water was wilder than normal. Put on decent shoes (sneakers will do, but no flip flops). There is a place where you can drink halfway. Two options will lead you back to the entrance. Option 1 is shorter (2.7km) and faster, but has more elevation, including various stairs. Option 2 is 4.1km, and easier to do. The down side of Option 2 is that it will take longer. Since it is close to Lake Bled, the combination of both on one day, works very well.

The gorge is beautiful, everyone should see it in person. You can walk with your dog on a lead. The green trail back to the entrance has a very nice view.

Now this is a place one definitely needs to be well aware of the details n route. 1. The tickets and walkway along the Gorge is ONLY ONE WAY. at the end of the Gorge one has to Trek back from a long circuitous route through forest. Pleasent and enjoyable only if one is prepared for the 4.5 km trek.

A most beautiful canyon and lovely hike along it. It's one way only (down the river), thus going back requires going uphill along different route. About 2-3 hours all together

Nice gorge. We were late in the day so there were few tourista. We parked our car on a, what seemed like a free parking, a bit further up the road to avoid the parking fee. On our way back we took the steep route. I was a bit hesitant at first but despite my fear of heights it was a very comfortable walk for me. It took us 35 minutes to get back to the car.

An amazing trek along the river. There are 3 routes once you enter the trek and it is up to you to choose the best route for you. The sound of the river and the natural emerald green colour of the water are very relaxing and pleasing. You will be totally disconnected from the outside world and it feels like another world. However, the downside is that the parking costs 10 Euros which is by far the most I have paid anywhere in Slovenia. Also, infants are charged 1 Euro which is weird because I have never paid for my infant anywhere in Europe.

It's worth the visit. Quite expensive (parking + entrance), but everything is well organized and arranged. Toilets at the entrance and the exit, restaurant, snack. I only regret not being able to go back the same way along the river. The green path to return to the parking was long and so hot under the sun.

Vintgar gorge is a nice place to visit. You walk on wooden path along the river. Nature is amazing and feeling the spirit of it is worth to experience. Unfortunately during season there are too many tourists so walking is stopped from time to time by crowd before you. This means not only pleasure to feel nature's spirit, but also some frustration because of traffic jam :-/ However the final experience is positive so if you're close to it, is good to visit.

One of the most beautiful hiking trails. Fantastic landscape, you walk parallel to the river. The path is very well maintained and particularly easy as you don't have to walk in strange or fragile places. Of course, the ticket seemed at first a little bit expensive for hiking, but it was worth it and I didn't regret at all that I chose to go, I recommend it.

Loved this. A pleasant surprise. We were from Dubai and Singapore driving down from Venice. The walk itself is only 2km but the walk back (outside the gorge) is another 6. But worth it. Highly recommended.

A natural wonder that is a must see. When planning your trip, pay attention to which parking lot you will be stopping at. We stopped at the P4 car park, which is 50 minutes away. It leads along a beautiful forest path, and we had a wonderfull time with incredible views, but for some it may be too far. Tickets are purchased online for a specific time.

Cant get enough of visiting the place, this is a true gem of this town and worth visiting at all cost. Go for 2-hours walk to enjoy Crystal clear blue water along with trees and ferns, if lucky, you might get to meet the rainbow at the end of the walk.

We liked the gorge part, but not the path leading back (called Katarina - the other one seemed even worse). (Yes, it's one way only) Onwards it's well maintained and an easy trip to the end, but backwards there are steep hills and shadowless hillsides with sheepshit. There wasn't many people on Monday morning. We parked in P5, but saw cars in P2 also, so I advise you park there, it wasn't actually closed.

Well worth a visit. If you pre book tickets then just walk past the queue and scan the q code on the turnstile. Can only walk downstream due to narrow paths. The walk back can be challenging but there is a bus. Car parking and bike racks available.

Excellent outdoor activity to enjoy alone or in family. - Splendid natural path along river descent.

Beautiful spot worth the price of entry. We were there on a weekday in mid-September and though there were a lot of cars, it wasn’t crowded in the gorge itself. The walk back is really pretty too with views of Bled.

  • 5/5 Mira C. 2 years ago on Google
Wonderful gorge and very easily accessible. Dogs can go on leash and there is an entrance fee for them (€3/dog). Worth to take the longer way back via St Catherine to the parking (front entrance of the Gorge). On the way you can meet many animals as you pass through pastures.
