Nice hike and amazing views when sunny ☀️ A nice hike to the top (just over 700 meters above sea level), where a nice hut with a good offer of food and drinks awaits us. 🔝 *It could get quite crowdy on weekends

Being accessible from many starting points, it is a great opportunity to hike. The cottage it self was recently renovated, making a bit more space, even for the ones, who wish to spend the night. It also makes it a great view point, overlooking the Ljubljana basin and if you climb on to the tower. You can even see the Slovenias highest mountains.

The view is great and it's a nice place for a walk. Locals tell me this used to be a family 'bar' with friendly personnel. Right now the restaurant seems to have a very commercial focus. Nice to get a drink, but tables are often reserved, which is a shame for a place at this location. The outpost however is free to every visitor. I suggest walking up and taking a look around, It's worth it!

SLO: lepa, ne preveč strma pot do razglednega stolpa. Je seveda več poti so gor. Trenutno je koča v prenovi, tako da ko se odpre maja 2018 bo prav fino. Na stolp vodi 108 stopnic. EN: at the end of the not so steep trail is a tower, from which you can see the surrounding of town Vrhnika and beyond. Really nice look especially on clear, sunny day. There are 108 stairs to top. Also the cabin, that serves drinks, is currently being renovated, so when it reopens in May of 2018 it will be great.

Locally most popular hill spot for recreation and hiking on the outskirts of Vrhnika, with a completely new mountain hut (ask for local sweet specialty "vrhniški štruklji") and a lookout tower. Several well maintained paths to the top, it takes around 1 hour walk to the top, in the shade of a forest and as such suitable also during hot summers.

Great hill for everyone. You can go there with small kids and older people. It is nice hill walk for less than an hour. On top is nice new inn with some good local food.

Cosy place whoch os reachable by car so you can come here with small kids also. There is always some people inside and alot of times tables are reserved also. The tower outside is Must see. From the top you can see the Capital city Ljubljana. The hike from Nearest town Vrhnika to Planina is around 45minutes.

👍👍 There is a nice macadam road from Vrhnika to Star maln that you can take on with a bike, on foot (or even with a car, but it would be a waste of a nice little trip). All the way along the road there is a nice stream and before you come to Star maln cottage, you are greeted by a big and somewhat loud...
