Very nice experience and different from classical ones. Totally recommend. Tickets can be bought directly from there. There is none or very small waiting line.

It was like stepping in a time machine. You heard that they are very proud of their mining history and they preserved the mine in a really great way. The helmets come in really handy when you do the tour with tall, Dutch men.

500 year old Mercury Mine , The guide was very informative and knew his stuff well, his English was brilliant as well. When we went there were only 2 of us, very quiet during the winter months. You are given a coat and helmet and make sure you bring sturdy shoes/ climbing boots as some of the stairs and slopes are slippery , the tour plus the film was just under 1.5 hrs long. Temperature in the Mine is about 12 degrees and a significant draft. There is free parking nearby. Make sure you look at the website before going, there are set times for the tours for winter and summer months.

An unique experience...you dress up in protective clothes and helmets, and you pass through a couple of kilometres through the now abandoned mercury mine of Idrija. 700 kilometres of such tunnels were dug by miners in 500 years since a rich and very pure deposit of mercury was discovered in the now Unesco protected town.

Very nice experience. The guides and staff were very nice and gave very detailed explanations. It was great to have the audio guide in Hebrew for the girls. Overall recommended experience. The scenery and effects were nice as well to demonstrate the atmosphere.

Unique place. Friendly guide. You have opportunity to learn history of mine and visit it personally. There are some parkings around all for free. Entry was about 10 euro. The tours started at 10 11 12 etc during summer. Check details on web site. Take some warm clothes with you +/-13 degree. You will get additional y a nice coat and helmet

Great journey into the history of mercury mining, it is interesting both for adults and children. We had 3 years old kid in our group and he did great. Highly recommend to visit also Topilnica after this tour to get the whole picture

Completely different experience to a typical tourist morning out! Really interesting even if you're not into mining with 500 years of history. Some parts of the track are wet and some a bit steep but overall well kept. Our 4 year old loved it.

Found it to be a really interesting tour with a very helpful guide. My only negative comment would be that a warning should be given, the end of the tour requires a rapid 170 slightly slippery steps climb, certainly got my heart rate going.

Great guide, very interesting tour. It's well timed and gives you a very good overview of the nine and guess conditions changed over 5 centuries. Arrive for the published tour times otherwise you will wait to enter. We went on a Saturday and it was very quiet, not crowded at all.

My first mine and it didn’t disappoint at all. I was so taken away by it that I even forgot to ask who Anthony is!! Fun fact: the mannequins are based on real miners!!

An interesting experience to feel yourself as miners worked. Price for family with two children 34 €. It could be cheaper in front of other attractives.

Excellent visit (1h30) with a very nice guide. All is explained. You are dressed up like miners with helmet and vest. Unforgivable experience :)

Wonderful guide- Marta- explained us everything and most importantly welcomed us with a smile! The tour was very well prepared and thought over, the receptionist was helpful too and answered to all our questions. Definitely a 5/5 place with a fascinating history to learn. Loved it!

Very interesting place. I recommend to take some warm clothes because it's a bit cold underground. You get a helmet and a coat. Friendly guide, there're also audioguides available

We visited the HG mine & melting plant today, on August 28, 2022. Great place! It’s a must for tourists in Slovenia. Special words of thanks to Martha who was our guide in the HG melting plant. Very informative and memorable!

Definitely go here when in the area! The mine itself is very impressive and our guide was a great storyteller. We also went to the smelting plant nearby where you can see how the ore was processed after it was mined.

Europe's biggest mercury mine, closed for production but open for visitors. Nice opportunity to see how miners worked from 500 years ago till recent times.
