Sorry. Not a good experience tonight. Tables were dirty and sections were not cleaned. Had to send food back because it was burnt and then had to chase someone down again for napkins and forks. Not a great night I'm afraid. For the speed it came out theres clearly not a back log or rush so why the poor quality?

Absolutely stunning looking pub inside. Place was packed and table service was quick and efficient. Food came piping hot and fast, added bonus it serves till 11pm which most spoons stop at 9 so made for an extra treat having food and drinks much later on than the usual cut off

The heart of Barry! Perfectly kept ales, bar staff are the best you'll ever meet, and atmosphere is always great. Bouncers are the best around too. The best spoons you'll ever drink in!

Atmosphere is nice and cozy, food is surprisingly tasty and healthy. Several vegan and vegetarian options. Staff Very polite and freely, drink options are quite adequate. Very happy that found this place in Barry.

Historical pub with pretty outside and charming interior. Unfortunately food nothing special. Huge menu, pitza, burgers, fish and chips and other pub classics. Fantastic drinks from cocktails to beer on tap. Good place for drinks and if you stick to pub classics food okay. Problem is food pre cooked. Walk from Barry station or if staying at mount sorrel just down the hill from there. Toilets on site and plenty of parking. Good place for a get together with friends. TV’s for sport fans. Visited on a Thursday. Curry night. Fantastic value for money for what you get. Service is very quick, but that is all you get. Busy for a Thursdays evening but still didn't have to wait long.

Came here on match day to see Wales play and the atmosphere was amazing. Even though understandably busy, the staff were brilliant and food was served with only minimal delay. Definitely will be going here again!

This Wetherspoons Restaurant in Barry is a great place to eat with family and friends. Prices on food and drink are excellent and the food not only looks good but tastes good as well. Haven't visited for some time but we will certainly start going back to eat there it was very nice I would certainly recommend.

Decor isn't great and whole place seems quite cramped. Staff all seemed very stressed. One waitress spilt one of our drinks over our table. She got a replacement but didn't wipe up any of the drink. Then a waiter delivering our food put the plate down in a real forceful way. It might've been an accident but he didn't apologise. It was loud enough to make us plus another waiter turn round.

I went here and got reasonably drunk for a reasonable price. From a biker group to the Saturday night specials, with table ordering there was no eye contact to avoid. Love a good wethys. Does what it says on the tin. Staff were fab, tables were full of empties. Busy place.

The worst Wetherspoons I’ve ever visited!! Ordered large Cod & Chips. What arrived was the most shrivelled up smallest portion of overcooked cod I have ever seen. Black bits on chips. The waitress took the plate back to chef only for it to return saying ‘this is the large portion’. Wouldn’t have minded so much if I had paid for the small portion. Left wondering what size fish is the small portion! I have ordered small portions of cod before in other Wetherspoons which were much better cooked and larger than this. Tasted awful. This is the problem when you pay for food before it arrives. Never again!

Food was excellent and even though they were short staffed they went above and beyond to keep all their customers happy. Well done to their excellent service 👏👏

An old pub in Barry, nicely laid out with large bar. Probably a lot busier at certain times. Even so quite noisy from the punters. Food and drink good value, hot and arrived in very quick time using the app. Please with portion size .

Ordered on the app, food came 20 minutes after ordered which was fine but no drinks! went to the bar to ask about our drinks told that they were short staffed and they would bring them over shortly. 10 minutes later still no drinks had to go back to the and get them. Wouldn't mind if we had ordered cocktails but it was two cokes!!! Service might be quicker if 3 members of staff weren't standing at the end of the bar having a good chat

A few of us called in for breakfast. Three orderd the large and one ordered scrambled egg on toast. The breakfasts were very tasty and they were large, the scrambled egg was very nice and filling. There are a large number of toilets for both men and women, with no complaints about cleanliness. They also have a very nice outdoor seating area, ideal for a bit of lunch and a cheeky pint. My only criticism is that even though we all ordered at the same time, two where half way through their food before the other two orders arrived. We would definitely visit again when staying in Barry.

We visited this Wetherspoons whilst in town for a funeral....I really didn't want to give them a one star as we noted that this particular Wetherspoon was reasonably priced. Initially my sister went to place an order at the bar but was completely ignored for over 20 minutes that she came back to our seating area frustrated ( given that it was a Friday Evening and it was busy we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt) so we had a few drinks went to Barry Island and came back a second time to place an order. After placing our order we waited for an entire hour and fifteen minutes ( still giving them the benefit of the doubt that they were extremely busy) now mind you we were standing for the entire time waiting patiently...until I said to my sister can you inquire when the food would be ready. To our surprise the food was already sent out without our knowledge and no one had the kind courtesy to tell us that it was ready....so obviously our take away meal was cold x 2 ...... when we got back to the hotel....this is what our meal looked like. ( we requested no onions and this was the size of the lettuce .... 2 strips yes I said that.....2 strips of lettuce and 2 strips of onions.....mortified to say the least) Very disappointed with the service.....I would visit again though if I'm in the area but probably not on a busy evening

Lovely staff but not enough working on a busy Saturday night. The bar was 3 deep all the way around with only 3 people serving. We were encouraged to use the app which we do regularly in the Cardiff pubs first round we waited 35 mins next round was 45 mins and we collected them from the side of the bar! There was one girl runner taking out the drinks who was working flat out. More staff needed on a Saturday match day! Not impressed won't recommend.

Table service really slow waited nearly 20 minuites went up and collected myself in the end took 2 hours to clear plates from the table thought I'd have a pimms with lots of fruit as it said in the description but no fruit in it no lime for the sol Worst wetherspoons I've been to and I've been to many all over the country come on barry spoons sort it out

Good size spoons, plenty of seating, good deals on food and drinks. Not high quality food and some drinks watered down but the deals are good. Disability access from Market Street. Disabled toilets are near this access area. You will need to speak to the bar to access or have a radar key. Large outdoor area/smoking area. Decent toilets. Large bar. Projector screen for footy/rugby etc.

First time and what great dinner experience. Food was great snd although busy our food and drinks came out quickly. Staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back

Customer service was brilliant, food arrived at our table quickly and the price for 4 of us to eat and drink was incredible. The only thing I would have changed was the food to arrive at the table hot.

Only 3 stars today because place was packed festival just up the hill.Waited 1 hour for food. Ordered drinks had to go to the bar stop waiters and keep asking them. Food was good but didn't come all together. Two eat. Ten mins later the other two eat. Hey ho it's is usually much better just a very busy day. Staff looked really stressed.

Last minute meet up for coffee and this place REALLY delivered, £1.20 for unlimited tea and coffee!! Ended up having a lovely breakfast too. The only thing I found that could be improved was that the App didn't allow for removing certain items from breakfast menu, as I don't eat eggs and mushrooms, it seemed a waste as you can add extras(which I found great by the way). Thankfully my wife did not waste the egg and mushroom!! Fantastic staff too.

Good food and quick considering they were quite busy. No stock of drink I ordered on the app and no sauce that comes with the chicken dippers. Also ordered a hot chocolate which never turned up, asked staff and they said they would bring it but never came back, asked another staff member and she said it's self serve and just to pop up to the station by the bar. We will know for next time I guess

Great for family visit. Great selection of food. But Great plates were cold with made food cold or just warm. Staff were great and very helpful. We will give them another visit when we're down there.

Visited at lunchtime on Friday. Ordered beef madras. Was informed it was not available. Then chose large mixed grill with two servings of peppercorn sauce due to the reduction in size to the sauce. Was told no peppercorn sauce available. Changed to Jack Daniels sauce. When the meal arrived the onion rings were missing. I told the waiter but nothing was resolved. General standards are falling at this location. No Christmas feel at all. Stick to beer& crisps!

Got my meal slightly wrong it was just missing a few items but they quickly fixed it when asked!

Second time I've eaten here and I'm not sure why . First time burger was just horrendous cold soggy chips burnt burger and that was all on the plate, Honestly it was shocking . Today I ordered half chicken with spicy rice , rice dry and crunchy ( left under the pass too long maybe ) , chicken dry , flavourless and just about edible . You need either one of 2 things A new chef or a new manager , this surley isn't up to weatherspoons standards which I know have dropped in recent years .

Sat at a table which was still messy after last customers, but so was every other free table. Ask a member of staff if she could clean it, and was told she was busy at the moment but would get someone to do it, which was fair enough, but still not cleaned after 15min, so spotted a female manager clearing tables and asked very politely if we could have our table cleaned please, to which her reply was very rude "I'm doing the best I can you will have to wait". Now I know it can be busy but still a smile and politeness would have went a long way and not be made to feel like an inconvenience.
