Quite enjoyed it here, sat inside the restaurant to enjoy my night. The food was very tasty, I had a streak which was cooked perfectly, and my partner had the burger, which he said was lovely. The onion rigs were really nice, too. Pig in blankets wasn't very nice for a side. We both enjoyed the house sodas, both passion fruit and Raspberry. Didn't feel like drinking on this occasion. But I had so many choices for drinks and alcohol. My only problem was the long wait times, was sat inside for about an hour and half just for 2 mains and 1 dessert. Where we sat, the waiters didn't come over and checkup on us, so we had to keep going bar to request our waiter.

The evening started where we were met by a waitress who immediately told us what we could not have. This is a regular visit for our family on Christmas eve and it did not set a good tone for the evening. Our other experiences have all been excellent I have to say. After providing us with drinks, our order was taken. Still a bit disappointed we waited for our starters. This took the whole of an hour to arrive, and we were not visited by the waitress at all during this time to apologise or explain the delay. The starters were OK, but not to the usual high standard. What then followed was another long wait, only then to be served food that was completely over cooked and inedible. We soldiered on, but in the end we left a lot of the food, feeling quite embarrassed that we left so much. Eventually the waitress came back, after some length of time to ask us how our meals were. By then as you would appreciate, we had finished what we were going to eat. My wife explained our dissatisfaction only to be asked, what else would we like, ie another meal. Of course we did not feel like this. I would have expected an apology and perhaps a visit from the manager, to explain our situation. That did not happen, and no further contact was provided by the waitress. We therefore paid our bill and left thoroughly dissatisfied with our customer experience, with me trying to stop my wife publishing her feelings on social media. I can assure you we have not done this. I have to say as a resident of sully we have been really supportive of the establishment and recommended it highly. However, this experience has left us wanting and reconsidering our patronage. In terms of improvement, hopefully I have given you food for thought in my review. Please excuse the pun.

Called in on the off chance there would be a free table....the lovely waitress said they had a table that we could have for just over an hour as they were fully booked.... The food was lovely and the staff were great.... We were aware that out time was nearly up but, we were still offered dessert and more drinks. We only refused as we didn't want to put them in an awkward position should the other guests arrive. Excellent service arrive.

Got caught out by the carpark charges. Didn't see the sign upon entry to the carpark (doesn't really matter why but I've lived here all my life and there's never been charges before, poor weather and visibility due to rain showers maybe) Walked to the island and back at low tide. Intended to stay for lunch but with children things happen and we had to leave. Blam! Letter through door demanding Β£100. Β£60 if I pay early. Well that's Β£60 I won't be spending there next time or ever. Great way to alienate potential customers. I should've parked in the caravan park and gone to the Spinney instead. Would've had a much more positive experience. The carpark was literally empty. Very annoyed.

A recent lunch visit found the food lacklustre and overpriced for what it is. We had to sit and eat at a tiny bar table in sinking wingback chairs because we hadn't booked, and no-one seemed interested in clearing the dishes away once we'd finished. The barmaid seemed like she wished to be somewhere else. I've found the bitter here to be good when served properly, but a few times it's been a bit cloudy with that "new barrel" tang. I think this place manages to keep a reasonable level of custom due to its advantageous position on the seafront at Swanbridge Bay, but were it to be relocated amongst more traditionally located competition, I doubt we'd have bothered to have visited a second time.

Stunning restaurant with glamorous interior with a heritage feel. Numerous dining areas and tables to cater for all size groups. Good menu with choices to cover vegetarians and meat lovers. Recommend the prawn cocktails as a starter, fish for main served with mash. Good drinks options with bar on site offering beers on tap, bottles of wine and champagne. Bathrooms clean. Need a car to get there with parking on site. Love your local guide- M❀️ Follow or like me please if helpful

We stopped in here to warm up during the rain, the food and drinks were wonderful. We chose an appetizer of scallops and shrimp and for a main course chicken and pancetta pie. The food was more than enough for two people and we enjoyed every last bite of it. We also ordered some drinks, the mocha was so good I ordered 2! We actually came back after a few hours for more drinks and another appetizer of Camembert and marmalade and we devoured it, it was that good!

This is a lovely place overlooking the coast in Swanbridge Sully. Had a lovely meal there, the staff were really friendly and welcoming and they even had a doggy treat station!!! Will definitely return.

Me and my fiancΓ© came for a meal here on the 1st of august for his 31st birthday and my god was it worth every penny. The food was delicious. My partner had the steak and I had gammon and it was the best food we have had out in a long time. The chips were phenomenal. Steak was cooked to perfection. The gammon was perfectly salted and tasted divine. The wine list was amazing. The atmosphere was lovely, it was a calm happy place to be. The staff were lovely and overall I’d rate our experience 10000 out of 10! We will definitely be returning!

Been to this stunning place loads of times but now just reviewing it . One of the cosiest pub and restaurant you will find . The menu is highly varied and is changed seasonally, always top quality. The staff are very friendly and helpful. In the summer it gets packed as the views outside of sully island and the Bristol chanel are amazing . I highly recommend this place . Oh and if you have a dog bring it along. They supply water in bowls for your canine friends πŸ‘. Another visit on 2nd of August 2023 and the same warm welcome , the clear views to sully Island and across the Bristol Channel to steepholm Island were amazing , I went for the 22 day mature steak and beef brisket burger with fries , while my girlfriend went for the pie of the day , beef in red wine pie with mash and fresh vegetables, absolute stunning, lots of pooches in the restaurant , I adore them . Put it on your to do list ❀️

A lovely pub, great location with nice views. We went for Sunday lunch, which was really nice & a very generous portion. Plenty of meat, potatoes & veg! Great value for money & the staff were fab, in particular, our server, Louise.

The food was great - everyone really enjoyed. It was great to have the flexibility of being able to select from the festive or normal menus. The staff were really lovely and dealt really well with the energetic toddler in the group as well as the baby. Considering how close it was to Christmas we didn't feel rushed at all. It is such a warm, welcoming pub and very family friendly whilst providing beautiful food which feels like a treat. Also a huge bonus being able to book online. Would highly recommend!

Seated on a table with a nice view outside. Food delicious, especially the burger. Richard kindly lit the fire after we said how cold we got on our walk before going for food. Great service.

The food was beautiful, I forgot how nice the restaurant was as I haven't been in a while. Callie looked after us very well, she was friendly and knowledgeable and generally really nice.

We had lunch here. Very friendly, great service, great food. We had a 6 month child in our party and a small dog, both were welcome. In fact there was a 'doggy hydration' point. Very considerate in the current heatwave. High chair and cushion provided for the baby.

A delightful setting and well presented building. The steak although tasty was not at an acceptable temperature, and probably not 10 ounces as described. The portion of accompanying chips was very small and disappointing given the price, and probably not triple dipped as claimed. The beer however was fresh and served in a clean glass. Dogs are allowed within the dining area which was also disappointing.

The Captains wife - stunning sea views and fantastic food. Overlooking Sully beach this beautiful restaurant offers everything. Sit outside and take in the ocean views, then order from the extensive menu and eat inside. High quality food with beautiful presentation. Well worth a visit.

Great outdoor and indoor spaces. Very popular but currently understaffed. We ordered appetisers only for a late Sunday lunch and they were very good and came out quickly in spite of staffing shortage. View of the Channel.

Fantastic pub couldn't resist to have 'one in the captains wife !', brilliant cafe next door and nice walk from there along coast- beware of the rising tide.

Excellent food and service, the inside is nice and rustic. The outside of the pub has a nice grass area with tables outside. From the car park it has nice views of the Bristol channel and you can even make your way over to sully island when the tide is out.

Okay. Pie was all pastry and disappointing filling. Starters very nice though. Attractive decor but wouldn't rush back.

When we visited it was a super busy Sunday but the staff were quick, efficient and super polite. We ordered roast dinners and they arrived quicker than we expected and were spot on. Prices were good and the view is amazing.
