Great drinks. Love the jam session where the bartender makes something for you based on a spirit and jam flavor you choose. And the short rib dog and Mac n cheese are insanely delicious. The veggie dog is really good too! Great option for vegetarians or anyone! Love this spot

We tried to go on a Friday night for a bite to eat, but ended up moving on. Too crowded and loud, not much seating except at the bar, and at the time we went, there wasn’t any there. Good for them! Came back for lunch cause we had to try those sausages and I’m glad we did. Try one of their jam cocktails, they are lovely.

The old maid is the best cocktail ever crafted. I love it at ballyhoo. I even love the bathroom even though that window is dying for a plant or two. I'm not sure if mustaches are part of the bartender's uniform but they damn well should be. Fun place overall. Maybe someday I'll try the food. 😘😘😘

The service here is extremely disappointing. The workers are unbelievably rude and need some serious customer service training. We came with a friend who has celiacs and was unable to order anything from Ballyhoo. They really need to work on providing a great experience for everyone especially those with dietary restrictions. She ordered food from another bar because she was not able to eat anything. Being outside on the patio, we did not think this was an issue as everyone else had ordered food/drink.. hundreds of dollars worth. Not only did they yell at her and make her cry, there were no visible signs saying no outside food and drink. To think that a worker at a nice restaurant would even be so rude to make a customer CRY is beyond me. We will never be returning. There are so many nice bars in the area that are significantly better.

I alway enjoy whatever cocktail I get from Ballyhoo, and my last visit there was no different. One of the best bars in town in my opinion with very reasonably priced drinks and excellent customer service. Not a very large bar space, but definitely worth checking out. They do serve a limited food menu as well, but I have not tried any yet.

Ballyhoo is such a fun bar to visit. The sausages are made in house and delicious. Solid beer selections between their rotating taps and canned options. Cocktail list is extensive.

Great drinks, very clean! I watched the bar get broken down for just under an hour. I worked in hospitality for several years and greatly appreciate the care in which the crew took in cleaning literally every square inch!

USED to be my favorite bar. That is no longer. Has only gone downhill. Bar is filled with flies, bartenders not very friendly, can’t eat the food without wondering what vermin sat in your meal. Don’t assume you can comfortably spend time here because the bar tenders aren’t all that friendly. They’ll make you an excellent cocktail but you won’t feel welcome. Unfortunately Ballyhoo needs a major change to get back on my radar.

Okay so first of all, the macaroni and cheese is to die for oh my goodness it is so yummy. The drinks are on a whole new level you just have to come in and have them make some of their specialties definitely a great place to hang out and bring your friends

Their motto is "Not that fancy", but man, the cocktails here are great. Just classics mostly, but they are done so well. And the cocktail menu is long, so many choices. And the house made sausage links are awesome.

Ballyhoo has been a favorite spot of mine from day one. This is the place to go for a well made cocktail without a hint of pretentiousness or inflated cost. Service from the bar is always quick whether it's dead or packed. They nailed a perfect vibe of warm, friendly neighborhood tavern with a punk rock twist (always impressed with the music selection and the volume is just at the right level so you can hear it clearly but you don't need to shout to talk with your friends. Oh and the food menu is simple but delicious. Do not skip the Mac and Cheese, the pickles or the ice cream sandwich.

Wow!! I’m so happy I finally got a chance to get down here. Don’t be fooled by the address, this location is as every bit of downtown as possibly can be. I ordered: - The Short Round -Side of Slaw -Side of Mac (to go) - (2) Frostbite (cocktails POUR-a-good cause) This gem is situated nicely on the corner of South Park & Michigan Ave. Parking is okay, not great, but that’s downtown for ya. The bar staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. I saw on SNS that the special drink was going to have $1 donated to a charitable organization (Feed More WNY) and really loved that concept. The sausage was cooked well and loaded with toppings and the slaw was extraordinary! I will absolutely be returning! Thanks for a great time Ballyhoo!

Loved this bar. Food was amazing - we tried the Short rib and Lamb option and did a side of Mac & Cheese. We also tried the jam preserve cocktail. Overall great experience.

Food was solid. The ice cream sandwich is a must. The sausage was perfect and the Mac and cheese was delicious although maybe a tad spicy for the kids. The General Mills factory is across the way and kind of makes the area smell like cheerios. Lol

The menus only consists of sausages and sides, but the sausage is amazing. They do have vegan sausage as well for the non meat eaters.

I love everything about Ballyhoo. From the jam session cocktails crafted by the coolest bartenders around, to ending the night with a chocolate chip ice cream sandwich. The Reggie Veggie is the only non-meat sausage option, but it would be my pick, even if there were 100 vegetarian options. I love the combination of flavors and the quality of the ingredients. If you have not been to Ballyhoo yet, run there now! Or ride your bike / bring your dog. They have a great patio, too.

Unique and tasty links that are their own recipe. The veggie one is unbelievable. The outdoor patio is a great place to enjoy lunch on a sunny day.

This place is a hidden gem in buffalo. The drinks are high level and the staff is even better. Ryan, Collin, and Shelby took amazing care of me tonight and made me feel right at home. The mac and cheese is killer too.

Dave and Ryan are incredible!!! They kept service flowing despite an unruly customer or two (sorry kitchens closed)! Drinks are always amazing! Special shout-out to Colin as well! Ballyhoo is hands down the best cocktail place in town!

Nice bar near the KeyBank center with great hotdogs that are not your 9-5 ketchup and mustard types. I can only recommend to go multiple times and try them all and definitely try the Mac and cheese, it's cheesy, creamy with a hint of garlic and parmesan, I would go back just for that.

Good beer list, great cocktails and fantastic sausages. I had the short ribs sausage with kimchi that was delicious. A very unassuming bar with a good vibe and a good crowd.

Sat by the bar as it was a busy afternoon and our bartender was very kind. The TJ Dawg and Mac & Cheese was our favourite and the cocktails with the jam preserves were amazing too! Would definitely visit again on our next trip to Buffalo!

As they say, this is not a fancy joint, but it’s still fantastic. Cheap but tasty cocktails. I had the Paper Plane. I had already eaten so I didn’t taste their Links. Next time for sure!

This is a throwback blue collar place (in looks). You might feel like you stepped into the 50s/60s here. The food was good (sausages). No table service. You should try this place

Phenomenal. I'm sad I waited so long to try this place. I ordered the short rib sausage, which was delicious and had that crunch of crisp in every bite. Their chips were tasty too. I'm looking forward to trying their cocktails.

Whoever the main bartender was on 5/15/23 @ 5:50PM is absolute aces — woman with darker hair. Hoping management sees this & takes care of her, could see her working her @$$ off for the very short time I was waiting for my delivery order. Picked up a DoorDash & you guys were out of a certain drink, she took it upon herself to call the customer and figure it out instead of putting it on me, and I appreciate that a lot. Also been here many a night after I went to the casino right across the street as a patron as opposed to working for DoorDash — good food and cheap beer, would definitely recommend overall! Just wanted to put in a good word for the bartender as well!

Food was good with the limited menu but the sausage was a tad dry. The macaroni and cheese on the other hand was amazing! The drinks we had were interesting but I would repeat for the drinks versus the food.

Wonderful food wonderful drinks. Lou greeted us at the door and made us feel right at home. Guy even asked how my buddies kids were. 🥰 Absolute gem of a human.

I stop in after my Severed Barbie doll head club meetings every month. Love stuffing my face with a Reggie Veggie vegan sausage then washing it down with a penicillin cocktail after debating the best severed barbie head with my colleagues. Roller Barbie head is way better than Veterinarian Barbie head, Stan!

I started to write about how their vegetarian sausage is so delicious I dream about it but realized it sounded pretty racy. If you want a tiki drink in Buffalo, this is the place. Can't wait for a summer evening down on the lake followed by dinner here.

Ballyhoo never fails to be one of my top suggestions for Downtown-adjacent drinks and food. With their endless liquor options and delicious house-made sausages (the Short Round kimchi sausage being the best) it is perfect for the start or end of your night, or even your midday stop for lunch. Their atmosphere is highlighted by the often indie/alternative music that makes it a perfect, chill spot, while also being able to catch that night's game, if that's more your thing. Shout-out to the "Pour A Good Cause" rotating drink option supporting local causes which keeps me coming back to try each new iteration.

Really great dog friendly place. Staff are incredibly friendly. We got the Mac n cheese, which is awesome and the veggie dog is super good too!

Great vibes, excellent staff and drink menu that could be a college course assignment in that it's so interesting, informative and detailed. We really enjoyed the "classic" mixed drinks we tried, and hope to get back to try more, as well as the sausages and cookies that looked soooooo good! I don't think this place is quite as it was when my grandparents used to go on dates here (it was The Malamute then) but I bet they would give it two thumbs up now too.

This is a great little dive. A place to drink and have conversation. It is not large but has outside seating. There is a large selection of local beers and I bet they can make any mixed drink ever known to man. Not much on the menu. It is all brats 5 different ones served on a bun. The sides are few as well but the Mac and cheese side is a meal in itself. I will be back

Ballyhoo is one of my favorite bars to go to! Everyone is always so so so sooooo nice. Especially the bouncer Lou. He always welcomes you with a smile, but makes sure you feel safe. He also has amazing eyebrows! Warren, Josh, and David are always killing it behind the bar. Amazing food, amazing drinks, All around an amazing time! I love coming here! Would recommend to all of my friends and also my grandma!

I love the place for getting a couple of drinks with friends. The vibe of the place can range from a low key peaceful local bar to a sports bar with loads of people cheering their favorite team depending on the day and time you visit. Great cocktails and service and the only bar where you get a really good vegetarian dish as well. There have been times where I have gone just to eat the Reggie veggie rather than to drink.
