Was so happy to hear the Brook Hotel was finally being rebuilt. It is in a prime position with many multi- story apartments nearby, so potential customers within walking distance. We had to book for a Tuesday night. The restaurant was busy, which is good because I want business in my local area to prosper. Parking was good, greeting at door good, greyhound was good, decor good, and then a wee bit not good. 1. The menu although pub food lacks imagination 2. Many things unavailable despite 6.15 sitting, including the only salad that was post last century 3. All steaks were overcooked 4. Chips & calamari topper were cold 5. Salad dressing congealed All in all you expect more for the price. Albany Creek Hotel far superior. I hope menu expands and food quality improves to attract regular repeat business.

Lovely venue, very popular and good atmosphere! Food very average and overpriced for what you get - have been there two weeks in a row, food disappointing on both occasions. Ordered the curry and the Asian salad. Curry very ordinary claimed to be a beef curry, but was mostly vegetables with very little actual meat - flavour bland - didn’t finish it. Asian salad with grilled chicken topper was just plain yuk! Salty inedible dressing and dry as an old boot - again didn’t finish it. What a wasted opportunity- get the food right and imagine the ongoing success you would have…time to make some serious changes in kitchen and listen to the feedback - stop responding with “thank you for your feedback, we can use this to make improvements” - how about letting your customers know what you HAVE done (or plan to do)! Albany Creek or Eaton’s Hill tavern are a much better option. I won’t be back until reviews improve and the management at the Brook make some serious changes to the food situation. The young wait staff are lovely and deserve a Pat on the back - your head chef not so much! Please don’t respond with the same generic statement- what are you doing with the feedback you have received?

Went for lunch with the family. We ordered at 12:15pm and could look around and see that there would be a wait (although none of the staff said this). We waited until 1:15pm and went up to ask what was happening. We were told there was a 45 minute wait on food and that ours was about 10 minutes away now. Accepting the 1hr 10 wait time, we sat back down. At 1:55pm a staff member came around with our docket making sure this was the good we ordered. We said yes and then went back up to ask what was happening. A separate staff member asked the kitchen where the docket was in line to which the kitchen replied “we don’t have a docket for table 13”. Waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes to just get a refund, horrendous. Why not say there would be a wait on food when ordering? Why tell us it would only be 10 more minutes when you obviously never checked with the kitchen as they lost our order? Very disappointing also watching the stag not clear any tables. Running good out and going back empty handed, a poorly run hospitality venue.

The old brook did a fantastic steak, the new brook does a more fancier version. The rump was thick, juicy and well seasoned. It had a nice level of char on the outside. I ordered a medium and it actually came out as a medium. The steak was so good it didn't need sauce and you are on a winner with that Poached Pear Salad. Staff are helpful and friendly. Furry friends are also welcome on the deck and there are a number of water bowls. Keep up the good work.

Went during lunch on a Sunday. It was raining so the booked outdoor areas were moved inside. Despite this we still got a table. Ordered by a QR code and drinks came in about 5min and food within 20min. Food was decent and cocktail was nice. Definitely an upgrade post the renovations and with a sudden influx of new customers I did expect teething issues. For us though, it was a nice meal during a busy lunch time.

A beautiful location and great food. The service was great however my friend and I were waiting quite long for ordered food until we approached staff and it was identified that there was an error and our orders had not been received. Staff were nice and apologetic and offered drinks which was good. Had the Funghi pizza and it was nice. The atmosphere is beautiful

A group of us dined here tonight. The recently opened Brook Hotel, whilst it looks wonderful on the outside, has a lot to do in regards to training its staff on processes and service. The outside area under that magnificent lit up tree is a great environment, it is a shame that was the only highlight of the evening. The venue had ran out of mashed potato before 7pm, our food was warm at best, and staff don't seem to have any direction. If you are planning a visit, I would advise holding off until the venue can sort out how to provide a suitable service in exchange for money.

6 of us ladies had dinner at the Brook last night. Place beautiful and meals delicious but the wait for service was not. Place was crowded and not enough staff on the bar or taking food orders. The 6 of us placed our orders at the same time but the last 2 who ordered got their meals first and the rest of us didn’t. half an hour after the first 2 had finished their meals I went and asked where our food was. Manager came and tried to gloss it all over and said the meals would be there soon. Not good enough. All meals should come to your table together. Manager said he would give us a free drink or dessert for waiting but that didn’t happen. A similar situation happened last Thursday night when I was there with another group of ladies but the wait between the first 2 meals and the next 4 wasn’t as long. Staff pleasant and work hard but they need to work out their teething problems. Won’t be back now until they sort themselves out.

Come guys, a beautiful new venue but service leaves a lot to be desired. Had to ask for our drinks that we ordered thru the app, then had to go & take then from the bar ourselves. Dinner delivered before we even got to have one drink. Very disappointing. Looks like we’re off to find a new favourite. 😟😟

Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful staff, was having a lunch date with my man, all was great until he found a hair in his food. He went and showed the staff the hair in his meal and they offered to replace the meal and with a completely drink which was great for them but not for us. It was a date which we expected to eat together, not alone while my partner sat there and told me to eat while he waited for the replacement meal. Which was disappointing to us as it was a date. Everything eles about The Brooke was awesome from what we seen. This is why hairnets has to be warn in the food industry as we saw none of the staff wear them if your in and out of the kitchen.

Only been once so far and first impressions last ! Very busy and hard to get a table, but we should have pre-booked !! Steak sandwich was delicious and service was good . One minor issue with a member of staff who took my order since the steak sandwich wasn't on the table app but nothing to serious . He just didn't like to be wrong clearly ! Great addition to the area and I'll definitely be here again.

I honestly wanted to give them 3 stars but then changed my mind because I rather to give them the chance to get better since it’s a nice venue with a lot of potential to get better. The bar is great even though it looks they are under staffing like many places nowadays Takes 40 minutes to get cocktails so you better get beers or wine Took ONE HOUR for them to bring our food order !!! Since many people are saying this they can manage to fix that and even I as a customer know how to fix it, they should know better

I am writing a review on the Bistro Pub. Tonight was a busy night. I ordered chicken burger but after 30min of waiting found the chicken piece about half the size of the bun. So I relayed my thoughts and returned to the kitchen and asked to make me another one. Lo and behold, another 30 minutes of waiting I received the meal and the chicken was the same size (half a bun)! I was so hungry I ate dessert waiting so I didn’t return this time around, but promised to write a complaint here. Will not eat there again.

Nice place to share with friends. The food is good, but the gluten-free menu doesn't appear on the table app. You must approach the bar to ask for the menu and order there (a bit annoying). On the other hand, the Gluten-free food arrived faster than the food ordered by the app. The Brook doesn't have many options for people with allergies or tolerances. Here is the menu from the bar.

Everything here our group enjoyed. From the quick service at the many bar points to the well presented meals. Prices are what you would expect at a quality hotel. Our table was outside with plenty of room to move. There was plenty of seating inside as well. We all enjoyed our Long lunch here & I can definitely recommend this venue. We would certainly come back again.

Went for lunch on Sunday with friends. The place was packed, and their was a live singer/guitar player. The food was great and prompt, the beer was cold and was a great catchup. Feel very lucky it is a new neighbourhood haunt...

I’d say we’re regulars now having been 8 times. The location, atmosphere and service are excellent but the food is just OK. There has been a recent menu change which offered some new, more interesting options, but the food still came out cold and the pasta was clumpy and stuck together. Small things that spoil the experience.

We will definitely go again. The food was great, table service was very good too. Drinks and meals came out in a reasonable time. Medium/rare steaks were perfect. Pizza was huge and tasty. My lamb was cooked perfect and too big for me to eat. Prices as expected.

Comfortable, clean, and cosy to sleep and stay ,booking on line is very easy no hassles and a confirmation payment and reservations from management in an email was good to get .Dinning experience and our meal was delicious 😋 thank you we will be back again .

Was looking forward to staying at the Brook, never been before and definitely in no rush to go back. Had to wait over half an hour to check in because only 1 person was manning the front desk, only had 1 person in front of us but that's just how long it took somehow. The Beds were so uncomfortable and the pillows were so thick i couldn't use them. Then when we were having a few drinks downstairs the bar staff were so rude and snappy each time we ordered. Especially a blonde woman behind the pub area. Not a nice feeling, probably would have ordered more drinks if the staff were nicer but instead tried to avoid interacting with them.

Came here for my birthday lunch, long time lurker but I have never eaten here - by far the best salad I've had in a long time. Not only did they also accommodate my 8 week old puppy the food was outstanding. Will definitely return for lunch again. Compliments to the staff and chef!

Spending some time at this hotel at present waiting for my new place to be ready. The team, the site, the everything is all you would ever hope for. Having stayed in many hotels - this site has set an incredible standard for others to folow.

Great location and good place to have a drink but the food wait time is shocking! I understand places get busy and when that happens food takes time but I have been on two quiet nights and waited an hour for cold food. If they improved their menu and improved their food service I would be a regular. For a $46 dollar steak I expect a lot more being that it’s hot and cooked correctly.

Haven't been here for ages. But when my friends and I heard on the local grapevine that it will be closing soon for refurbishment/renovations we decided to come for old times sake. The menu is varied and there are daily specials available as well. There is a good selection of wine and of course beer on tap. It is family friendly and they have set up a low table for children to sit, it has a blackboard behind it to keep the little ones occupied. The decor is very tired looking but this definitely doesn't detract from the quality of the food.

Food is far too expensive for the size of the meals. $27 for a steak sandwich at lunch is crazy. Servers are rude. Nice area outside for kids but every game needs a ball and the kids were told they needed to BYO balls. Venue could be amazing with some good management and a re think of pricing.

What a filthy discusting place. I would rather stay in the boarding kennel I dropped my dogs at. Booked in advance and requested an early check in. Was granted but when we arrived the room was not ready for an hour later. The manager had no interest in customer service. Left us and 1yo baby in the hot car park. Fire the manager and bulldoze the place.

Local for 20 years, first time at the new Brook and had big expectations. Staff were great. Was seated for a family dinner next to a loud and boisterous function but staff were great in quickly swapping our tables. Food and drinks were overpriced. Definitely not somewhere that you would call a 'local'. Barely a 'sometimes' place to go. Felt like we were sitting in the carpark.

Was our first time here and was less than a great experience. Took an hr to get food out. Was look warm when it did come out. They had a few big groups in and not enough staff. Pity because the food was good.

My friends and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon. It was extremely busy and yet sadly under staffed. Considering the large area both in and outside and all tables booked, more staff were required. My meal was very nice. I had the beef pie. 🥧 Actually a plate for a man! It was quite a lot. Nice to have a musician there. Happy to go back again. 😊

Brought my husband into the new and improved Brook Hotel for our anniversary. Even with his gluten intolerance they had plenty of options for him and the Lady Luck cocktail was phenomenal. Amazing idea putting lights on that beautiful fig tree, very romantic feel to it. Can’t wait for the accommodation to open up! Will definitely be a frequent customer.

Great improvement on the old place BUT OMG, you pay for it $9.00 for a small bowl of chips with a 1/2 filled tiny dish of mayo. The chips were good thou, obviously cooled in clean oil. & $4.20 for a small glass of coke 😱. Now that is outrageous, considering as I understood from a staff member that a schooner of Gold is only $5.00. I was going to have Spring Rolls, $19.00, until the Cashier told me that there was only 2 or 3 to a serve, he wasn't sure and did not offer to find out. Is it venues like this contributing to inflation in this country?? No more visits for me.

Lovely venue & the staff were very pleasant & obliging. Our meals arrived after everyone else had finished theirs. My steak was cooked perfectly but my husband's chicken schnitzels was rubbery. The meals were luke warm at best & the salad were not fresh.
