As
a
woman
I
was
uncomfortable
here
and
didn’t
feel
especially
safe.
I’d
requested
my
partner
book
us
AT
the
airport
and
the
Trade
Coast
(formerly
the
Pinkenba
Pub)
is
15
minutes
drive
away.
There’s
no
way
this
is
a
4.2
star
hotel
as
advertised.
None
of
the
rooms
have
ensuites,
instead
there’s
shared
bathrooms
down
the
corridor,
and
although
I
was
advised
I
was
the
only
female
guest
they’d
had
in
a
while,
it
was
apparent
that
others
were
using
the
women’s
bathroom
by
the
large
wet
footprints.
Being
given
only
1
room
key
made
it
difficult
for
us
to
shower
at
the
same
time.
The
rooms
are
up
2
flights
of
stairs,
and
there’s
no
elevator
-
if
like
me
you
have
mobility
issues,
lugging
heavy
suitcases
up
and
down
isn’t
much
fun.
No
toiletries
were
supplied.
I’d
packed
an
overnight
bag
with
just
my
next
day’s
clothes
and
a
toothbrush
in
expectation
of
an
ensuite
and
basic
toiletries.
Not
having
packed
pyjamas
it
was
annoying
to
have
to
get
fully
dressed
to
run
to
the
loo
in
the
middle
of
the
night.
As
a
FIFO
/
tradie
pub
it’s
perfectly
fine,
just
not
what
I
was
expecting.
The
rooms
are
a
good
size
if
you’re
traveling
on
your
own,
it
was
clean
and
the
basics
were
covered.
It’s
clearly
set
up
as
single
men’s
quarters.
There’s
only
1
cup
1
teabag
etc,
only
2
pillows.
The
bed
was
wedged
tightly
against
one
wall
with
the
door
opening
immediately
on
the
other
side
(no
space
for
a
bedside
table,
and
nowhere
to
be
out
of
view
while
opening
the
door).
At
half
the
price
of
the
airport
Ibis
I
can
see
why
some
find
it
attractive.
The
staff
were
very
friendly
and
John
the
lovely
courtesy
bus
driver
went
out
of
his
way
to
make
sure
we
got
a
meal
after
our
flight
was
delayed.
With
the
kitchen
closing
at
8pm,
he
had
a
menu
on
hand
and
phoned
through
our
order.
The
food
was
tasty,
well
presented
and
a
hearty
serving.
Take
earplugs,
it’s
located
between
the
airport
tarmac
and
a
busy
main
road.
It’s
a
step
up
from
some
(not
all)
mining
camps
I’ve
stayed
at,
but
it
was
not
what
I
was
anticipating.
This
hotel
is
NOT
at
the
airport
even
though
it
comes
up
when
you
search
‘airport
hotel’.
