It’s fantatis! Great nature centre - Perfect for families. A zoo free for everyone! We can see kangaroo, wombat, many kind of birds….and more nices annimal of Australia. Beautiful setting and easy parking and access. We find going in the afternoon gives best chance to seeing the nocturnal animals rousing from their sleep!

Worth the travel. Was able to see wombat up close, awake and walking around. Lots of other animals, the ones we usually see in a zoo and there's even farm animals even a cow. My little one enjoyed it.

Awesome experience at Ipswich Nature Centre. Free entry with fantastic staff on site. We enjoyed the nature talk about dingoes and the feeding of Dexter the ox 🐂 The wooden boardwalk was very clean and pram friendly. Plenty of street parking and playground just across the road. We also stopped by at the cafe 👍🏻

Beautiful park with an amphitheater and a variety of local wildlife and plants. A great way to spend an afternoon with children or family. It has a nice aviary also and a relaxing walking path. Almost like walking through a fairy tale! Just gorgeous! You can pick up local plants for your garden too! Admission is free currently just need to show proof of vaccinations!

Beautifully landscaped area with a wide variety of animals, including birds, mammals, and reptiles. There is a separate bird aviary, which is a lovely experience. Overall, it has a very relaxing atmosphere. Lovely place to visit with kids. You can also take a walk in Queens parks as well as Nerima gardens. Entrance is free. Free parking available.

Month of visit: December 2023 It's a nice place to visit, especially if you bring your kids. They don't have an entrance fee, but you can donate in their gold coin donation box. This place feels like a mini zoo for me, there are some reptiles, kangaroos, wallabies, and birds. They have a well care tracking path so it will be easy for those bringing strollers or wheel chairs :) The surrounding is also nice, there is a park with outdoor playground as well. Must visit especially for families with kids!

This free zoo is truly delightful! Whether it's the adorable animal displays or the relaxed environment, it made for a pleasant time with my family. Thanks to the park for providing such an opportunity for everyone to appreciate the wonders of nature. Highly recommended for those who enjoy getting up close and personal with animals! (Your donation will help provide better living conditions, medical care, and research, allowing these beautiful creatures to thrive and grow. Joining hands with your generous heart, Let's work together to make the world a better place!)

Please make sure to donate as you leave😁 I have always loved coming here to see the animals. Since I was little every visit has been fun and exciting even if the range of animals has largely stayed the same. The improvements they made a few years back definitely enhanced the experience. Miss the farm animals which they seem to have limited. Make sure to look out for the crocodile living in the pond 😂😉

I was so excited to stumble across this place! It’s such a lovely, volunteer cared for little spot! Full of happy, cared for animals and well maintained gardens. My son particularly enjoyed the birds. The best part about this little treasure is that it’s FREE! You can give gold coin donation on your way in our out. We will definitely return to this spot in the future.

Another beautiful and well taken care of natural space. The array of amazing wild life is amazing and 9ur children always enjoy our time here. A+++++

Considering this is free it's amazing! You've got enough stuff here to keep kids entertained for an hour or two and can save yourself the fees on something like lone Pine for example. Great place

It's a lovely compact mini zoo for everyone..Still a few flying foxes in the trees. Free to enter, but a gold coin donation is accepted. Wheelchair and pram friendly walkways. Plenty of trees for shade, and water bubblers for a drink. Great for kids young and old as you can get up close to the animals. Barnyard is a little disappointing, there was only 1 steer,2 goats and a chicken. One of the few places to can see a Bilby.

Didn't see it all and a few of the encloses are currently closed due to renovations. But a good way to spend the days with kids. Free entry but there ask for donation in a unman locked box. I gave only a little as my funds are very low currently sadly Lol.

If you're struggling to find something to do without spending money then look no further. This place has a number of different animals to look at in a really good layout which will take you probably 30-45 minutes to walk around depending if you have little ones in toe or not. Wild bats occupy the trees in and around. I'd highly recommend Ipswich Nature Centre.

What an amazing place! Blew our expectations out of the water! Well done with all the wildlife, and the “flow” of the experience. I loved so many of the animals we saw today including the flying foxes, bilbies, wallabies, and spotted quoll. We even went through twice! You cannot bring food in, so plan to picnic outside before/after OR go to the cafe just a 2 minute walk up the road. There are no toilets inside the park, but there are public restrooms just outside the main entrance. Worth way more than a gold coin donation!

This is a cool place for the kids and adults too! And just a quick drive from Brissy. Its a great place to watch Oz animals and its free! Beware of the spawn of bats hanging above though. Aside from the animals, there is a playgroud and bbq spots. Stopby at the cafe for a bite.

My wife, kids and I had the pleasure of this amazing free activity. It was a pleasant walk through activity which gave us opportunities to snap a few photographs and see some great native Australian animals. This is a well maintained facility and close to parking, toilets and a Cafe. Right next to Nerima Japanese gardens too. So it was a nice afternoon spent.

Love this walk at Queens Park. Good for strollers, little feet’s and big feet’s. Wombat, lizards, wallaby’s, kangaroos, dingos, emus, a cow and goats among the fruits bats there is much to explore.

Lovely well kept and designed garden. It is quite large and set on a hill so it could take a while to walk it all. It's wheelchair or walker friendly for most of it so no need to worry about steps. It is set next to a school so it gets noisy on weekdays around lunch breaks. The entrance is hidden away at the top of Queens Park and it was a nice surprise find.

  • 5/5 claudia t. 3 years ago on Google
Great fun to go visit with the kids! Love how the park is laid out! The animals have beautifully keep enclosures, and I love how the creek runs thru different encloses. To be honest looks better kept than the zoo's you pay to go in! Great for the kids

I've brought the kids here many times, my son loves it. Today was great, we were there by 9:30am, very few people around and most of the animals were out and about (instead of hiding). Saw some great wombat antics, a busy Bilby and we patted and brushed Dexter the cow.

A little gem of a place, our kids love it. No crocs or Koalas here, but there are wombats, bilbies, dingoes, snakes, quoll, various wallabies and kangaroos, emus and a fantastic avary stocked with many species of birds including doves, parrots, cockatoo, and wedge tailed eagle to name but a few. Definitely worth visiting.

Ipswich Nature Centre, which is a free-entry place where you can see many native Australian animals. Although the park is not that big, but I’m impressed by the variety of species that can be seen at the centre, including birds, kangaroo, wallaby ,wombat, bilbies etc. This makes it a great destination for families with children who want to learn more about Australian wildlife

  • 5/5 Charmaine van der M. 1 year ago on Google
This was a beautiful place, you do need to take your time and look carefully for the wild life as they do hide very well. Stunning bird variety. You can't take food in but there is a place outside to sit if you take a picnic, with benches. Only two toilets outside so ensure to use before you go in. For a free day out I think its worth it. We did put gold coin in the box at entrance. There is no playground just a open park.

The Ipswich Nature Centre was a joy to visit - with or without kids. Note that there is a bat colony present, so take a hat & follow the signs. Do take gold coins with you by way of donation, as the park is free to visit. There is plenty to see, the gardens and animals are well kept & cared for. You can also enjoy a walk around the beautiful Japanese Gardens and have a coffee at the Cafe which are all short walking distances from each other.
