We had a very pleasant evening. The young lady on the piano early in the evening was excellent, and the guy playing classics later was fantastic. The bar staff were great, the pours generous and the food really filling and tasty. The music was perhaps a touch louder than I was expecting, but still of a level were conversation was possible. All in all we had a great night out and will come again.

Stumbed across this puano bar on my way back to hotel and decided to pop in ! So glad i did the atmosphere was so good with Piano man playing all sorts of tunes encouraging a good old singalong - you can definitely request ! I must not forget to mention i had the best Gin Martini .

Intimate gig space in the Basement. No comment on food as I haven't dined, but comments from other people where good. Need to get there early to secure a spot close to the front, otherwise can be hard to see.

Discovered this piano bar on Saturday night out with friends - after dinner. We were highly impressed with the place. Live music is back and after a night at the Doo-Bop Bar it certainly reminded us what we had been missing. It felt like a safe place, had super friendly and engaging staff. Drink prices wet reasonable for bar like this that has no cover charge. Luckily, we were there for both the early and late piano men shows. Pretty sure it was Shane Parry we saw after 10pm and Michael Hynes earlier. Both had the party going the singalongs . They is also a basement jazz bar we didn’t venture into, but our friends said it was certainly worth a visit.

My friends and I were always keen for a Jazz Night out and stumbled upon Doo-Bop Bar. The downstairs area commonly know as 'The Basement' housed a dark atmospheric throwback vibe which had a very fun band playing some jazzified and saxified covers. Doo-Bop Bar had good cocktails and a fantastic atmosphere and vibes. Highly recommend!

Amazing free music and unreal food at a great price, what a place! It was our first ever visit to Doo Bop this Thursday just gone. Mitch on the piano had an unreal voice and was happy to do requests. The food blew us away, apparently it is a new offering after the kitchen took a bit of a hiatus. The empanadas (both chicken and three cheese) were easily the best I've had in this city and reminded me of my time in South America! The burger was $14 (+3? or so) for fries and was the best burger I've had in Brisbane under $20 in a long time. Heaps of pickles, toasted bun, crispy edges on a juicy patty. Unreal. Thanks Doo Bop. We will be back real soon.

ground floor is piano bar, basement was jazz bar so nice place, good music good drinks enjoyed so much. Had 2 tab beers and 1 cosmopolitan cocktail, it was amazing night

Great place for a drink and listen to some music. Saturday nights after 10 pm is the best time of the week. Go and say hi, this venue is a must.

Great to see some live music again! And on a Wednesday! #stoked Loved the option to submit song requests. Musician was very talented and did their best to play our requests. Started upstairs in the piano bar, music was drowned out by people noise. Felt sorry for guy playing piano as he was good, just couldn't hear him. The basement different story. Still lots of people but walls absorbed the noise so band not drowned out. Staff are awesome, quick service and quick to pick up glasses etc. Will be going back to The Basement.

What a fantastic find, a New York-style piano bar in Brisbane! Comfortable atmosphere, very friendly barmen who make great cocktails, and an excellent pianoman with a great voice and a wide repertoire of songs. He's also enthusiastic for requests. A wonderful place to unwind, sing along or just soak it in.

Amazing Jazz bar that you found in Brisbane. A very classy place to hangout. The great vibe and the sound of music makes you feel so relax. Food are delicious too. Highly recommended bar!

1st time at this bar , great venue for music , staff very helpful and friendly .Prices on drinks and food very reasonable however food menu is a bit sparce , maybe add a couple of more items .We had burgers & chips which where great ..Will be back .

Went to Doo Bop for the first time and the food was absolutely DELICIOUS. It came out hot and fast. The cheese curds were a particularly perfect pairing with a beer. Keen for another music and cheese filled night out soon!

Great live music venue. The line-up when I went was superb - bit of jazz, soul and blues. Bar staff were so friendly and accommodating. The venue itself is cosy and quite comfortable. This bar was the highlight of my Brisbane trip.

Hands down my all time favourite bar in Brisbane, both up and down stairs! Particularly up stairs in the piano bar! Michael the piano man plays alll the best songs that throw me back to my childhood! The atmosphere is brilliant, very vibey, everyone is so nice and friendly, the age group is vast from 20's - walking sticks, no one says no to a boogie!

This place is such a vibe! At first I was a bit sceptical coming here as I thought it'd just be piano music I wouldn't know, turns out it's music we all know. People of all ages come here and it's always a good time. I love that they play songs we all grew up with and songs you hear on the radio. They make a great cocktail and bar staff are super friendly. This is the place I always love to come to when I'm out in the city. Never had an issue here, no fights or overly drunk people trying too hard it's just a straight up good time. Always wake the next day to having lost my voice from singing so much at the piano bar haha

Doo Bop re-opened on 5 November 2021 after being closed since March last year due to Covid restrictions, and Brisbane is so lucky to have this amazing live music venue back! Ground floor is a rocking piano bar with great cocktails, and a sing a long vibe. Downstairs in the Basement is blues, soul and funk. I saw probably the best guitarist I've ever seen on 6 November in the Basement, from the Hipshooters. Absolutely incredible. Played Jimi Hendrix better than Jimi! This place is truly awesome. Thank you Doo Bop for sticking it out and re-opening, even a global pandemic couldn't stop you, and I, for one, am very grateful.

We dropped in fairly late in the day one Tuesday, curious about the show tunes we could hear from the street. The ambience and performers were top notch and the crowd, including us, were having a ball. The only negative were the bar staff who seemed really dour and at odds with the overall atmosphere. Not a smile between them! Fantastic venue, we'll be back.

Excellent place to have dinner, great ambience, great food. Played piano music in the basement has a jazz bar. So, nice and you'll really have a great time here.

The bartender you had on the night of the 16th of Feb (2022) was an absolute beautiful human being! Not only did he offer excellent service but he put up with me and my friend and made sure we made it safe to our rides home before closing up for the night! 10/10 would come back not just for the atmosphere but the level of care and service. Sorry I didn’t get your name but as it was the first time I had been there the first impression was enough to have me coming back!

Very busy little bar, bottom end of Edward Street, with live entertainment (a lively duo were playing 80's & 90's tunes, on the night we were there), popular cocktail's were the go to, with four working the bar - fits 50 to 60 people comfortably. More than likely find ourselves back there on a return to Brisbane.

The Doo-Bop Piano Bar is on ground level, has a very friendly atmosphere, presentation of local and international pianists, with solo and duo performances from 6pm. Delicious cocktails, tasty food and an awesome sing-a-long vibe.

Always lovely to visit. Chill vibe with live jazz music. The security guard is a hoot! 5 stars just to that man at the door.

My review is based on the fact and experience of more than 12 months attending this place every Friday night. The staff is very good, the audience is mostly elderly and some middle-aged 40s complaint for nothing, but kicked us out when we went the next week staff told us they do not have any background about this matter. They provided free drinks but wasnt happy unless they had bases, we found that certain audiences were racist, serving staff is very good, and Gavin is fantastic. Unfortunately, I and my group decided to say goodbye to this place, not enough space upstairs.

We spent a Saturday night in the Basement bar. Food menu is 3 choices only. For such a simple menu it should be good, unfortunately it's not. All the table stools need to have padding on top and the tables need a cross bar to rest your feet. The live band were ok but between breaks the background music was way to loud. Such simple things that could easily be fixed but it won't be.

Thursday night we were pleasantly surprised by an array of simply outstanding soulful musicians .. exceptional entertainment .. we will be going back for more .. highly recommend

Loved the vibe! Randomly popped in because it was raining and I happened to be walking past. Planning a night out to actually go back and visit properly! The piano music was fantastic!

Came here on a Tuesday night and it was so much fun! A great night of music, dancing, good company, everyone in the bar was mingling, singing together and enjoying the atmosphere, not on their phone. Great drinks. A fantastic time all around!

I went on Friday night and so may have been a bad choice. House band was doing covers, a representative crowd from local apartments dancing with their daughters?. Nice to stop in for a drink but nothing inspiring to stay for two

Best bar!!! The live band are so great and the cocktails we had are great. Bartenter are professional and got great skills too.

Such a great change of pace and caters for all age groups. As you enter it feels more like a friends house party then a nightclub. Staff are amazing lead by oliver and challenge you to find a drink that wont tantalise your taste buds or offer a better alternative. Live entertainment are well picked out and know how to play the room. Must do experience when in the city

Entertaining music and great atmosphere. Not to many younger people there which made it a great atmosphere with awesome live music. Def go to this joint again. Just sensible people having a great time.

The live music in this bar was fantastic. The piano player has a great singing voice and the bass player / drummer was excellent. The audience went off and sang along with the very recognisable songs. I will be back with others next time. ❤

Really enjoyed our time in this bar. The blues band that played the night we were there was amazing. The only issue we had was there was no non alcoholic beer for my husband to drink. As he can't drink full strength now,water didn't quite cut it,so we didn't stay long . Very limited choice of alcoholic beverages

From the amazing talent behind the piano, to the delicious cocktails from behind the bar, this place is stunning. The staff were attentive, friendly, and accommodating, and make a damn fine Manhattan. For a low-key, more intimate performance head in on a Thursday night. For a rambunctious, dance-till-you-drop night, make sure you're there on a Saturday. Will be back, soon & often!

Rather small but well positioned bar. The live music provides a wonderful atmosphere where people felt comfortable getting up and dancing or singing along. The drinks are reasonably priced and the staff are genuinely friendly and kind people. Don't expect to find a seat or have much room to stand if with a reasonable sized group.

What a great experience. We rarely venture out, but attended upstairs for a birthday party. We ended up being drawn downstairs to the basement where we saw the best adhoc playing band. Good prices, very good staff and even better atmosphere. We might get out a bit more now

We’re so happy to have found this lovely little nook here at brisbane. Wonderful atmosphere, great food and impeccable jazz music. We’re here on the night with Step It Up and they’re so smooth, sleek and chic. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here. The menu and drinks selections seemed to compliment the music very well. Nothing too heavy, that right amount of flavor. Loved the oysters and ratatouille linguine. Also enjoyed the cocktails Aretha Franklin and 20th Century. Would definitely be back again the next time we visit, and would recommend anyone to come by!

We booked in for the dinner and music package with the focus being on the music. The food however was superb - good portions, well cooked and very tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive and the venue has a good atmosphere. The music was also great. Really fun and friendly atmosphere bringing some class and culture to Brissie for sure. Had a great time and really hope to be back again soon. Well worth it.

Great place for music. Acoustics are spot on. Bathrooms looks recently renovated, very clean establishment. The talent playing was really good. Drink service was a bit of a let Down. Took a long time to have a drink. I'll be back for sure!
