This venue has the best views. The staff are absolutely lovely and helpful. They have a wonderful cake selection and the cakes are fresh and delicious. It’s a great layout with both indoor and outdoor dining options. Great for people of all ages and a nice place to bring visitors.

We thoroughly enjoyed a hamburger each at Picnic Point when we were last in Toowoomba. Great, tasty, clean food, fast and professional customer service. Not to mention the spectacular view.

Service: staff not trained how to serve by not reaching across customers Food: so disappointing as we had enjoyed lunch there the last time about a year ago Told on phone there were several vegan options but only one on menu ( a salad which did not match description on menu - where was the pomegranate molasses dressing ( when we,asked about the lack of dressing, given a small bowl of balsamic!!!) Salad consisted of rocket with a tiny serve of chickpeas and a bit of puree with lots of red onion on top (note: no mention of this in menu description) Hot chocolate tasted like warm water with a bit of chocolate powder mixed in.

This is a great place for a picnic or family gathering outside. The scenery is spectacular and there is a coffee shop and restaurant on site.

Great view over the mountains. Nice cool inside the Restaurant. This location is about 706 meters above sea-level. Just consumed a coffee, served in a great cup.

We had lunch here on the weekend. The view and outlook is amazing (which is why I haven't rated one star). The gentleman that greeted us was pleasant enough but seemed 'put out' that we hadn't made a booking (there were multiple empty tables the whole time we were there). We were driving through the area and decided to try our luck at getting a table. The menu was "ok". I ordered the 250g steak, at $38 I would have expected a much better meal. I was only able to eat about a quarter of the steak as it had so much gristle throughout it I couldn't cut it. I don't think I will be going out of my way to go back there any time soon.

The food was really good. I had the tiramisu and Cappuccino, and hubby had the lemon meringue. The staff were friendly. The view is really good to. And the wildlife come around to say Hi. We'll come back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend going to have a look and try the cakes.😊😊

Picnic Point in Toowoomba is a picturesque destination that offers a delightful experience. With its stunning views and tranquil atmosphere, it's a great place to relax and unwind. The scenic lookout provides breathtaking panoramic vistas of the surrounding countryside, including the Lockyer Valley and Main Range National Park. The well-maintained gardens are perfect for a leisurely stroll or a picnic with family and friends. The facilities, such as barbecues and picnic tables, make it convenient for visitors to enjoy a meal amidst nature. Additionally, the walking tracks cater to both casual walkers and more avid hikers, allowing everyone to explore the area at their own pace. Overall, Picnic Point in Toowoomba is a charming spot that showcases the beauty of the region and offers a peaceful retreat for locals and tourists alike.

It is great restaurant and cafe. I went there yesterday when Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers on. The place is beautifully presented with great views of the city. I do that lots of places now charge for surcharges when cards is in use to pay. The male staff who served me at the counter is wonderful taking orders for my afternoon tea. As I pay for the bill I mentioned that I wish it would be great if staffs tells the customer that surcharges will apply. Even before the male staff would response to my comment(or not to comment and do the jobs), one of female staff abruptly came to the counter and pointed finger on the monitor of casher saying surcharge application notice is on it. I am very disappointed how she say it in such rude manner with tone of voice. It just ruined my day. Great customer service. Well done to that staff. Thanks 😆

The food was amazing. We had just climbed table top, the doorman today was arrogant, today, but my previous experiences have been fine. The cake and deserts are nice, coffee was good,

I have been there quite a few times; however, the last time was ten years ago. Being here today for lunch with my wife was simply awesome. Attentive and fast service, very friendly staff, no stress or panic; lovely setting; food was great, so was the ice coffee. Yes, nice views, lovely setting... and best of all a 'senior' menu (smaller portion and reduced price). Well worth a visit, considering the surounding park areas, waterfall (currently repaired; hence, no access from Oct to Dec 2023). Next time it won't be ten years to come back. :)

Excellent food, service and location. A variety of menu options were available, including very gourmet options such as soft shell crab with fennel lime, chili slaw and coconut aioli (see image attached). I was impressed by the serving size; plenty of healthy slaw with coconut aioli to make a filling meal with the crab and lime on top. A section of the menu was dedicated to options for seniors, with adjusted serving sizes. The waiting staff approached the table and asked for my order, then returned to clear my table. The staff were friendly and professional. And don't forget the scenery; there were indoor and outdoor tables, the indoor area having plenty of windows with excellent views of the nearby terrain. And of course the location is perfect for a bush-walk before or after a meal, with playgrounds for children also nearby. This is also a good place to visit if you're looking for a souvenir of your trip to Toowoomba, with art for sale instore.

I received some distressing news yesterday and decided I would feel better if I had something to eat and drink and a good view at Picnic Point. They sat me at a table 11 where my view was the wall and the window frame. I tried to find another table and couldn’t. Gave up waiting for someone to serve me after waiting five minutes, got up and left. Emailed asking the manager to contact me. He hadn't contacted me by noon the next day. Disappointing experience and service.

Superb view of the valley below. We could see the raining far away and the rainbow. Visit in either sunrise or sunset is highly recommend. There are plenty parking and viewing point is easily accessible from parking. A good place to sit down and have a snack, as there are plenty of benches. Easy to Access.

Wonderful experience and view! Our experience was slightly marred by the fact that we were waiting for more than an hour for our food due to a technical issue, but the manager came out and offered his sincerest apologies and comped some of our food! Absolute legend! The food is wonderful as well! Definitely would come back again with such wonderful food and service! A++

Fantastic view of the valley, especially if you're seated on the window seats. Staff were particularly friendly and accommodating. ⭐ I didn't particularly enjoy the selection of the foods we went with but I've only been here once. The deep fried mushroom and rocket salad had few greens and a heaps of fried mushrooms which absorb a fair bit of oil if deep-fried before cooked. The pizza was alright. I'll definitely go back to try more. Having the milkshake served in a plastic cup when seated in the restaurant section was a bit off in my opinion.

(Tired so keeping it short) Food was great, service was good, waiter kept his eye out incase we were ready to order, double checks the order even if it’s a small order and quick to receive food from order made/sent to kitchen. Pork was luke warm and a bit too much sauce, that’s about the only miniature sad parts 🤣 but yea everything else was good.

It’s rare that you find a cafe with such spectacular views having good food to match. The Picnic Point Cafe reached beyond any of my expectations with fantastic good-sized portions at affordable prices. I visited on July 18, 2022 with two other adults and a toddler. The staff were incredibly accomodating, and being a Monday it wasn’t too busy. The food is the best I have had on my Qld holiday so far, and I’ve eaten at some pretty fancy places. The seafood laksa was the best my friend had ever had with the perfect balance of textures, and not too heavy. It’s made with real coconut milk, not the cheap stuff. The pulled duck dish with Asian slaw was one of the tastiest things I’ve ever had. It was all of my favourite foods on one plate. I couldn’t fault it. If you like duck, this is for you. The third adult had the pork belly, but it was not to our taste. It was rubbery and sliced thinly, rather than the crispy pork belly sheet. However, the salad it came with was exceptional and made up for it. The drinks and desserts were great, and I have to note that the almond/orange cake was probably the best I’ve had. It was the perfect balance of crunchy caramelised edges with soft cake inside. Overall this place is a must visit if in town, especially for those with dietary requirements such as dairy allergies.

Fantastic views and food. I had the potatoes rosti and was happily surprised to find these be the closest thing to the latkes of my childhood that I have had in Queensland. But with a small salmon twist that works. Next time I'll have to ask for them with apple sauce and sour cream.

Had such a lovely afternoon at Picnic Point. Can’t thank the team enough for catering to my unreasonably complex dietary requirements to provide a gorgeous grazing platter. Coffee and view stunning, would recommend.

Great atmosphere at the cafe/restaurant. You can dine inside or outside and today we chose to sit beside the window and look out into nature. The food was awesome. With quite generous servings of Beer Battered Barramundi and a scrumptious tartare sauce satisfied my belly. Whilst Hubby munched on the Seniors portion of Apple smoked pork belly fully meet his hunger needs. One star off just because the Lemon Lime and Bitters was little bit on the sweet side. I should have said something to the waiter. Speaking about staff, their personality is worth coming to this place to see. Very polite, Very friendly and nothing was too hard for them to do. Plus as an added bonus there may be an artist amongst them, I should have asked. The paintings are of all the local wildlife is in the Scenic Rim of Toowoomba, if I dare say bloody fantastic indeed.. We will be returning to purchase some of them.
