We regularly used to take food from here but recently it has been disappointing. Last time they packed the idli vada without the sambhar and we drove quite a distance to pickup the food.. and this time it is one notch higher. We picked up a Family Chicken 65 biryani and when we opened it at home, we discovered a few things. First we spotted tiny hairs and then one metal ring that had turned black. We had to throw away the entire pack. I know if I call them they have one answer to offer some free item next time. This goes to show how vigilant they are while packing food for their customers and clearly cleanliness is an issue. Extremely disappointed with the service.

Worked for the whole morning and was hoping to get a quick take away for lunch break. Ordered 2 dishes for take away here and have been waiting for 50mins and still not ready, not sure why curry dishes can take so long to make. There were only two other customers here. Starving in here now and regret coming in, might even be late for work now. I will never come again. UPDATE: Just got the food after one hour wait. No apologies, no update provided throughout the whole hour and when asked the waitress said 'because we have a big party order'. Would be a bit more respectful if you could just tell us it will be one hour wait when we order, wouldn't it? Terrible service...

The others come for the chicken biryani which I understand is good. Looks plentiful. The vege samosa chaat was more chick pea curry than a proper chaat. Albeit I asked for no onion and the green chutney on the side due to the spice factor. They don’t have a timeframe on their masala chai - unlike the chole bature which is from 11 am to 5 pm. On this particular night, because the kitchen was busy with takeaway orders, they were not able to make the tea. Please understand that the customers that turn up also should be catered for. Regardless, this was not a deal breaker. Vege options are ok..,but having been here on a few occasions, the kitchen does not understand the concept of a mild curry. Covid protocols were followed, staff made sure to check vaccination protocols. I would suggest though, that the bar area be kept cleaner and tidier as it’s a bit of an eye sore. The tables need to be wiped better as they have this sticky feel to it despite being “cleaned”. Will return, but only because the others want to eat the biryani.

Me and my partner tried this restaurant for the first time tonight and the food was amazing! We ordered the Punjabi butter chicken and the lamb curry, was great! The lamb was cooked so nicely! We will both be back again. Great customer service and lovely atmosphere! Thank you once again!.

Haven't been here for a while. Pretty disappointed with the quality of the food. Dosa was not crispy and not freshly cooked. Chicken briyani 65 was not as fragrant and tasty as before. Not convincing for us to make it back again unfortunately.

What a terrific place for all your Dosa cravings! The menu was incredibly extensive with such a diverse range of choices available. We were a little lost given that we aren’t familiar with all the dishes on offer. It would have been wonderful if the menu had descriptions of the dishes and better still, photos to accompany it. But the staff are really helpful so don’t hesitate to ask. There was a constant stream of guests and after tasting the food, I’m not surprised! Every dish was so delicious and wonderfully fresh. I highly recommend the world longest Dosa as it really is quite an experience! I highly recommend Dosa Hut and look forward to returning again soon.

Best mango lassie and strawberry lemonade. The restaurant was clean and nice, service was great. Was expecting a spicy dish, but it was flavored well so maybe next time I will just ask for spicy. Won't complain about the price because you are getting the true taste of India!.

Very disappointing. The dosa was really bad. No shape and no taste. The dosa was not cooked properly. We could really feel the raw taste of the dosa batter. Won’t suggest this place. Dosa hut gives the worst dosa i reccon. Really disappointing

I think they cook well and original ingredients so it’s good. And the price is reasonable for those meals. If you do like to try something different and special it’s good experience. Recommend it!

There should be option of giving negative ratings because some of the places donot deserves even one star. The service was poor, it was my first ever experience here! As an Indian our selves we were not expecting this low quality food items, Both of us worked with Indian restaurant for couple of months but we never served the non-available product, actually they tricked us, when we sat inside the premises they prompted us to order online. Actually, they didn't told us that their "nan-bread oven" is already shut down, so that we can't cancel the actual order, after serving the snack when the waitress came to serve dosa, she uttered that tandoor oven is not working, then we said if they could prepare some chapaties(simple breads prepared on round iron plate) instead of nan-bread but she denied, so that made us a bit annoyed. This took place after serving half of our meal, but after serving the dosa "which was full of red chillies which later on caused me food poisoning" we canceled the order as we hardly took one or two bites of it and at last the bill became upto 30. So, we paid 30 for eating nothing. Both of us were starving but after eating from this restaurant an unexpected event happened. While moving out the receptionist was saying sorry for nothing(unnecessarily and was showing fake respect- which she failed to show us while we were sitting on table for our meal, we were just respectfully calling her and she was busy on her phone screen @ that time), we really got annoyed as the type of service they gave us. We personally don't recommend this restaurant to anyone new. Thanks

Poor service, Never experienced this service in past 5years,I regularly go there, but not now. I ordered chicken 65 biryani🍗& ginger chicken🍗 both have Prawns 🍤 smell & taste, which I’m allergic. Asked staff (Harmi) to check with chef and replace the items. They replaced Ginger chicken with chilli chicken but still taste & smells same. Now here i felt very bad, i expanded to that girl i’m allergic to prawns please check with chef, she came back and started arguing that’s highly impossible,it’s chicken,we didn’t cook prawns today… We didn’t even eat that food and paid $79.80 for one plate Haleem that was good 🤌🤌tho.

first time eating here - won't come back again 😭 first meal came within 10 minutes, then waited almost 30 mins for the other meal. as we were almost done, we wondered where the poppadom and raita we ordered were, and asked staff. staff had failed to inform us that the poppadom were not available tonight, even though we had already paid for it. we were refunded for only the poppadom, not for the other dish that we never got. food was underwhelming and restaurant had a sad, cold atmosphere :( tldr- bad communication with new ordering system

5 stars for food. Its fresh & delicious. Been eating here since few years now. Satisfied with both takeaway and dine in food. However, I would recommend a better sitting arrangement as it gets crowded when busy; and also the customer service could be improved (long waiting time for food & staff usually forgets to provide cutlery). Overall, good experience.

The tandoori chicken is tender and juicy. Naan is great as well. However their curry dishes are just average. The chicken 65 dosa is disappointing, the chicken is cold and too sweet while dosa itself is good.

Great food and atmosphere. Could tell that this place is popular with the amount of people coming in constantly so be sure to come early. I had the masala dosa and it was great. They have an extensive range of dosas to choose from which is amazing, finding some combinations which I haven't heard before. Would come back again.

Food was good but customer service was poor. At first, they didn't provide us with a menu, so we had to scan the QR code to access the menu online. We were about to order online until they gave us a paper menu and we had a look again. The prices are higher online, beware! We ordered in store and waited for more than 30 minutes for our food (dosa). The staff lack manners, cups were dirty, cockroaches crawling on the floor. Another customer's child was standing on the tables. Overall, an unwelcoming atmosphere.

I'm not usually one to write reviews but this is one of the worst customer service experiences I have encountered. The food was pretty average and some of the dosa was sour and undercooked. Moreover, I ordered my meal along with a mango lassi. It took them 30 minutes after I got my meal (I had already finished my food by then) to receive the drink. I asked the waitress three times for it. The first time, she was rather rude and asked me to 'wait a minute'. After twenty minutes I had still not gotten my drink and asked for it again. It was only upon the third time, she finally realised and simply went and got it out of the fridge.

I was looking for at least one point to give these guys more than * but i can't convince myself. I placed a take away order on 28/12/22 for chicken 65, chilli paneer, gobi manchurian, veg Noodles and veg fried rice. Chicken 65: Too dry (over cooked) Chilli paneer: No marination, not chilli at all. Lacks taste. Gobi manchurian: not spicy, even after specifically asked for spicy. The pieces of Gobi are big enough to scare any human being. Lacks taste. I have been to few DH stores in Melbourne and the taste of the food at least was good enough. They had other issues like customer service, hair in food etc. Check my other DH reviews for details. The chef needs some serious training in this store. My experience has been a disaster. Placed order ahead of time and went after 30 minutes to collect but i was given food after 45 minutes after promising 25 minutes p/u time. Wana waste money and time? Go to this place.

Dosa hut is one of the favorite of most of the Asian people and still everyone thinks the same. But now due to high demand maybe the quality of food drops down. All plates that they provide is so oily which is unhygienic The service is fast but need the server to serve properly instead of being in hurry. So hope this feedback can help in improving the requirements of restaurant

Used to be a good place to eat. Never been to any other Indian restaurants after visiting this place. But today experience was deteriorated. We ordered dosa to start with which was good. But after that we ordered veg dum biriyani which was not good. Then we ordered paneer tikka masala and malai kofta with garlic naan. Naans were good but curries was worst. As soon as out order came we noticed malai kofta portion was not full which we told them straight away. They felt sorry and took it back but their chef was over smart he just added cream and send it back to us which was very frustrating. Paneer tikka was too salty. I was so annoyed with it.we paid them bill and left our table without eating our food and requested them to pack everything.I complained to front reception when I paid my bill and asked if they have changed their chef because food was not good. Their reply was that chef is same but may be restaurant is busy that could be the reason for bad food. 😡 Seriously guys is this what customer expect from you. I would recommend you to please improve or else you will not have enough customer to survive. Personally speaking I will never go back to this restaurant.

Given the Name Dosa hut, I would have thought they would be Dosa experts.. but not recommending to anyone.. Sorry for the bad review, but I seriously believe in giving the true review. Response to your question: I totally agree, 10 ppl can't be served at one time , it was one Dosa served and then I see other table getting their dishes, then after 3 to 5 minutes our next dish. I went to Dosa hut for the first time last year, I remember the service being so horrible that we gave feedback, walked out of there unhappy and upset. My family went here again today hoping to have a lovely time together and beat the heat. Our feedback - nothing changed since last year. 1) It was hot and sweaty the whole time. When checked about air conditioning, they said it was on and it's not helping. We were not the only ones sweating, all the staff was sweating too.. may be guests too. 2) Service was the worst and what makes this review so horrible. We ordered 3 dishes. Our first dish came after 40 mins and then each of them were brought atleast 20 mins apart after we called and asked for each of them. So we came in as a family but had our meals individually. The experience was ruined. 3) Food - the food itself was quite average. We could have been ok if the rest of the experience was great! We ordered some indo Chinese and the burnt garlic noodles had noodles broken into smaller finger sized pieces... Why???? Everything was cold by the time we ate it. Biryani was a disappointment too. Honestly, the hype isn't worth it and we should not have given it a second chance... won't definitely give it a third. Order no. 63826

Simply wonderful! The food was fresh, tasty, and authentic. Not only that, but the price was also very reasonable. Definitely want others to go and try. You know you're going to get good, real food from that ethnicity if most, or even all, of the customers are from that ethnicity!

I am really disappointed with Dosa Hut as such. Every restaurant of theirs I go to I always have a problem. I’ve had issues with Dosa Hut Mt Gravatt in the past too which was the same for my family and friends who have visited. I used to like their Chicken 65 Biryani 2 years back. Ever since they got a new chef (which I believe) it has been absolute garbage! Sorry to say this but I am sure a lot of people can agree who has been a regular customer from a long time. It just does not taste the same. Today, I decided to go do my groceries and then had my friend call and place an order which I would pick from the restaurant. I knew there is no point of me going straight to the restaurant after groceries as they would never have prepared the order on time. Went home and then decided to finally go pick it up. Guess what? The staff himself didn’t know what order or who placed. He checked their computer system and it had my order. Later went into the kitchen, came back and told me that the kitchen did not get the docket. How is this even a problem to me? Where is the professionalism of this restaurant? This not a new restaurant that recently just opened to figure out the order system. The staff told me to wait another 20 mins as they are preparing it now after I told them what the order was. Really disappointed in their service! My humble request to the Management (who has not done anything yet based on the horrible results so far) please please take time to understand your staff and pay them the right amount so that they can provide better services to the customers. Also, do hire kitchen staff who have the passion to cook and not just for any other reason to be in there. This is from a regular customer who is not regular anymore.

Really disappointed! My friend and I had gone there for lunch and had ordered the following items: 1) 1 idli + vada with sambar - the sambar was burnt and both the idli and vada were as hard as a rock 2) Rava Dosa (because they ran out of masala filling inside) - the dosa was really pathetic and bland. Something you don't expect from a restaurant which is called DOSA HUT. 3) Gobi 65 Biryani - the biryani was served in an improper manner, making it very hard to enjoy the dish. (the worst biryani I have ever had) 4) Mango lassi - the only saving grace from all the dishes we ordered. However, the woman who was attending to us was so shabby and under trained that she couldn't communicate with us and just kept throwing things on the table. On top of that the food was also very bad. This place has delicious food, the serves are decent size and hood value for money. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It can get busy at times bit good for makes up for the wait.

I'm not really happy with their service, they used to be good before covid. I called them and placed an order an hour early, and they made me wait for 30 extra minutes than the said pick up time. I placed a small petty order which they started preparing after i arrived for pick up. I understand its busy, but not even an apology for the delay. The taste is not great either. Would not recommend for South Indians.

Not happy at all with my visit here. Dosa seems to be ok but other dishes were so bad. I ordered fish biryani. Fish tasted like it had been frozen for months. The omlette looked exciting on the menu but when I got it, it was so average. Went there with high expectations and left feeling like I wasted my time and money. Staff are ok but your food isn't.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Dosa Hut Mount Gravatt, Brisbane. The delay in receiving my take-away order was frustrating beyond words. Not only was the food quality far from satisfactory, but it also took an unreasonable amount of time to reach me. The biryani I ordered were cold and seemed to have been sitting out for quite a while. The front desk staff's attitude added to the disappointment – they were unhelpful and indifferent, showing no concern for the delay or the poor quality of the food. It's disheartening when a dining establishment fails on multiple fronts – from food quality to customer service. I wouldn't recommend Dosa Hut Mount Gravatt to anyone, given my experience of subpar food and unhelpful staff.

Order onion omlete but got spicy chilli, dahi and wadda is like just throwed in plate not served.. Waiting time for own food is more than hour, so recommendation is come here if you are too free, they don't value's your time. Been first time here, and its last time also.

Horrendous wait time. Over 23 min for two orders. When asked about the delay the staff said the orders will be staggered because there is a “party order they’re preparing”! Well focus on parties and catering then! Stop pretending to run a restaurant with timely service!

today i went to this restaurant. first of all coustomer service is very very poor. staff are ignoring the customers all the time . they are treating you like you are eating for free.we came as family but they serve us one by ine food is very cold and when we asked water for hot food she talk very rudly. we are regularly came to this restaurant from long time but from the last 2 time they us same way .

Food was good. However, the service and the quantity were not up to the mark. The serving size was way too small compared to any other Indian restaurant that I have been in Australia. The naans are very tiny as well.

I was greately disappointed visiting Dosa Hut at Upper Mt. Gravatt after a year. Firstly, you guys should be a bit more patient while taking reservation on phone. You need to learn the basic attiquate. During my reservation the lady did not bother to hear my full name absurd. Secondly the serving and hoapitality is way less than expected. you should not even earn a single star for it. Its not customer's duty to search for a bottle of water I guess. Above all the quality of food deteriorated a lot. The papri chaat did not even taste like it. The boiled cheak peas I could taste in my mouth not properly mixed with salt and chutneys. I should not recommend this place again to anyone. You guys should downgrade your restaurants to a take away place indeed. Atleast for food quality I would say Dosa Hut Asplay is far better than Mt. Gravatt branch.

This is my usual place for biryani. Had a goat biryani take away today, but was not as delicious as before. There was too much coloured rice and seems as though the rice and meat (with a lot of bones) was cooked separately, not together as in the dum style. It was great last week but not today. The staff is friendly and the place is comfortable. I will come back but hope the biryani improves.

Went there for the first time last week My review is based only on the dosas we had ordered Food preparation is average. Dosas are not crisp, the way they should be at a good restaurant. It may seem okay to someone who didn’t grown up on quality Indian food, however most Indians will find this not that pleasing. They served as a stale dosa made from left over batter, and I immediately realised something wasn’t right. When confronted the waitress confessed that this was left over stuff. The only saving grace is that this was replaced by a new dosa without much fuss. Overall 3/5 stars ⭐️ Okay to try it if you’re not Indian, however nothing special if you’re Indian.

Ordered something to eat this morning @11am, and I don't know why you guys place people on phone to take takeaway orders who has no idea of what's on the menu, where I've ordered like 4 plates of idly, and got 4 plates of sambar idly, where I order 1 plate of Vada, I've got like just 1 piece of Vada, and I've ordered like keema palao I've got that without omelette on the top, and if I call them asking for it they pretend like they are correct and we who ordered was wrong, thinking as we don't know what to eat???? And says sorry at the end, look at your reviews my dear, apologizing for every single time doesn't give you anything, that's just a word for you, but we will be loosing money and even can't eat what we wanna eat. If you don't understand something ask clearly, or if you are not sure explain us what you are giving, but don't waste our time and money. I would have gone to some other restaurant instead eating worthless food.

Great food, I will go any time

1) Menu advertised online has less price and when you go to the place and check out the menu is $2.00 more. 2) Brought 1 masala dosa and 1 plain dosa. Presentation is good. Quality and quntity of the food is very poor for the price. Masala dosa had just some potato stuffing inside and no spices or flavors and the potato stuffing was really little. Plain dosa was served with 3 graveys with a very poorly tasting sambar mostly waterish. Wouldn't buy nor can't recommend the place. I'd advice to rather checkout restaurants near Mt Gravatt Plaza if you want Indian food. Bottom line too expensive and poor quality.

We tried the dosa and I can say it's the best dosa in Brisbane. I will come back to this place agai n.
