For a small 1 oz cup of cheese dip is 4.75. That pricing is ridiculous. Love me some casa but the prices come on. I dip a chip in and half it’s gone already. The beef tacos are amazing and love the chicken nachos from here. Also if you charge a to go charge let the customer know on the phone. Tuesday I paid a 1$ and Thursday I paid 2$ ? For a to go charge and was not told both times. Also like why? I order to go from plenty of places and have never been charged.

We went for lunch and the cheese dip was old and gritty, like it had been in a crockpot all night. That was $9.50 down the drain. Someone came in shortly after us and got fresh cheese dip. The salsa was bland. The food was basic.

I grew up here and it was always a treat to go to Casa Montez, as a kid I remember the fountain and atmosphere and as an adult I remember the margaritas and food.. I moved away and would visit every time I was in town.. then I heard that they had closed and I was disappointed to hear it.. much to my surprise when I heard that they had reopened on Main.. I was here a month ago but they were closed and today we hurried to restaurant so much that I got stopped by JPD.(he let me off with a warning, thank you officer) . and it made us 5 minutes late.. literally we walked in the door at 8:04 and she told us they would not serve us because the kitchen closes at 8.. but that I could buy their extremely expensive cheese dip, guac or salsa.. so now I’ve been there twice and turned away, there won’t be a third.. so disappointing,, this part of my childhood is done!! Good Luck Casa Montez.. you don’t need my money..

New location over off of South Main. Less seating but they still have their Carnita Tacos. Which are the best thing ever. I got mine to-go.

The best thing about this restaurant is the chips "wich are slightly worse than normal Mexican restaurants" and the fact that I will never eat here again. Got the mixed fajita and the chicken was so dry it was like eating chicken jerky and the steak was only slightly better. The cheese dip was a off brown and tasted burnt at best. Don't suggest it to anyone unless like me your on the search for the best Mexican restaurant in Joplin and abosutly have to ruel it out. Or you can just take my review and move on.

I was going here when it was on Rangeline Rd. The building is not as big as it was but the food is still so so very good. My husband went there for the first time and he thought the food was excellent! The service was very good too.

The average is 4 stars and that's what I was gonna give it when the appetizers came but when my carnitas arrived it went to a straight 5 star rating! Caritas are amazing...Chili rellano was amazing. Super great service. Definitely recommend.

My favorite restaurant in town, totally unlike any other, very unique among its Mexican food peers - by far the best cheese dip and salsa. Inexpensive, friendly staff, damn good food. The only drawback is how small the restaurant is and how crowded it can get inside, best to visit at odd times, such as 2 or 3 PM.

The last time we went in wasn't extremely busy. Got a table ordered our drinks. Ordered our food, and that was the last we saw the waitress. Didn't get a refill till the end. My boy ordered beef enchiladas, and he got cheese instead, so I had to re order so he would eat. We all were finished by the time it came out. It was just awful time. The food was off, the service was poor, and to top it all off, our server was just in a funky funk, and it kinda rubbed us wrong. Hope this gets addressed and resolved because we love Casa. Maybe next time....

Went here for lunch with a friend to try it for the first time. She loved the salsa, I thought it was fine. I heard the cheese dip was delicious so I ordered it and it was similar (but better) to Velveeta and Rotel I make at home. It is not the white cheese dip you expect at most restaurants. It was tex-mex style. My friend didn't like the "gritty" texture. I liked the flavor, until it got cold. I didn't bring the leftovers home. My enchiladas were hot and fresh, rice was good. One plus is the enchiladas seemed bigger than other restaurant's. It's not my new favorite, but I've definitely had worse in the area. My friend enjoyed her chile rellenos, commenting it was better than most in the areas.

The food is great..just like the old days. I really wish they had a larger seating capacity. It's hard to get a table during regular lunch / dinner hours.

Some of the worst food I’ve ever had the displeasure of eating was at this awful sorry excuse of an establishment. The “queso” tastes like imitation pasteurized cheese they stuck in the microwave and poured milk on top of. The chips are always stale. I ordered a stuffed pepper and was given a soggy eggy pepper that seemed to of been reheated and disgusting.

I have had better chicken fajitas from Taco Bell. Pre-cooked or it’s frozen chicken 🤮 dry as hell that cost me $20 for one serving. I asked for a lime, cause who doesn’t like lime juice on their mexican food, and they charged me a $1 for the lime. 🤦‍♂️ The spoon full of frijoles were burnt dry and splatted in the to go tin. Don’t waiste your time or money !

They're not on range line anymore, they're located on 48th and main. The food is good but their prices are high and the salsa doesn't taste the same as it used too but I haven't had the cheese dip since they reopened. The building is very small as well but there is a walk up window outside to order or pick up food.

I grew up with Casa Montez, here in Joplin, Mo. Way back when the Montez' familia had it. ,💖 Kudos, for coming back, I missed ya! They have always had great food and wonderful atmosphere, so when I gave three stars for atmosphere, I am not knocking them. I personally, am just not one for small spaces. (It's the old Eagle Drive-in) Definitely, have the cheese dip, chili relleno and one of the premium margaritas. I promise you will not be disappointed! 🤗💞

Mexican Buffet!! Oley!! Come for lunch, stay for the margaritas! Grab your own chips, salsa, and queso! The mini chimis are phenomenal! Great atmosphere and friendly staff!

Extremely limited amount of space. We sat at the "bar" and had our waiter directly across from us staring at us and watching us eat our lunch for a majority of the visit. It was not very pleasant. Due to the lack of room it felt as if we were being hurried to finish so they could move on to the next customer. Menu was a ghost of the former restaurant with very limited options. Don't expect to have the same experience as you did in the former location if you stop here. Pretty disappointed

This has been my favorite restaurant since the 90’s. Consistently excellent food. Their chips and salsa are the very best!

Great food. Small inside dining, but with the great weather the outside dining is wonderful

Way to expensive not at all clean! I use to love this place but David is putting prices to high for the quality and quantity of his new dive. Cleanliness is very important now and I don't like seeing my food handlers with dirty fingernail and just plain nasty.

Absolutely wonderful food and service. We had a chicken fajitas, flavor was so good. I highly recommend taking this little gem in, if traveling it's just a couple minutes off i44.
