I've been Fishing it all my life, well since 4 with My Grandfather. Now I bring my kids here. Its been reconstructed in 2018 to invite all to the water. Not just the angler motivated. I wish there were more trees, But in due time. Open, Peaceful and Beautiful right in the city. I don't even have to launch my kayak under bridges now. They have launches, Docks, Check it out. Love this park. Great for a picnic even with all the pandemic. Plenty of space the distance from everyone else, and still find shade under a tree. Play Grounds was pretty empty last time we went, in the same box as well. Pool and splash pad remain closed still.

We enjoyed the Winter Lights. A half mile walk through holiday lights programmed to music. Dogs were welcome. There was some sort of playground at the end, rather unusual and difficult to evaluate in the dark. Plenty of us trying to navigate it though. I believe there were indoor restrooms. I think there were picnic tables too, but at night in the winter, no one was picnicking.

A big, nice and clean place. Enough parking lots. Nice playgrounds. Many sports facilities. It is in the middle of the forest. Just very. No complaints. A good family place.

Along the Chicago River and the fork of the North Branch of the Chicago River. The restoration along the East bank by the Army Corps of Engineers laid down new river trails and resting spots to view wildlife habitats of the Great Blue Herons in the river, Black-Crowned Heron in the trees, Double-Crested Cormorants and more. The new walking and biking trails connect to Ronan Park and Legion Park. There are hundreds of trees too in almost 29 acres, like the very interesting Scots Pine. They have all the amenities you’d expect, like 7 tennis courts, 2 baseball fields, playgrounds, a field house but also includes a canoe launch, swimming pool, an interactive water playground, artificial turf soccer field, running track, a soft-surface playground, and a community garden. This is a park that has it all!

A walking trail goes all throughout the park which contains various sports fields, courts (basketball, pickleball, tennis, baseball, etc), and rec center. Lots of trees plus the creek and ponds are nice.

Amazing job with the Christmas lights. Nice little walk to see some beautiful lights. I loved the positive messages. Only bad thing is someone didn't pick up after their dog and I stepped in it on the path.

One of the better 9 hole disc golf courses I've played. Fun forest holes that help block the wind and a low pressure water hole at the end.

This is a wonderful spot for a family gathering. We had both a wedding and a family gathering. The kitchen prep area and fireplace were so nice. Not to mention staff on hand and a playground for the kiddies.

Wonderful dusc golf park. Evenly tempered challenging yet not evil. But. I prefer o'Brien park as a opener to here. Then Katherine legge as the end 18. Lovely 36 for a lazy sunday.

This is a fun nine hole disc golf course. Unlike many of the nearby courses, this one is very tight - lots of playing down corridors of trees. The holes are all short, mostly 300 feet or less. One hole plays over a small pond. A bit noisy from nearby highways

really nice park. great cushioned rubber surface. zip line type swings with both a chair and disc seat were a lot of fun for the kids.

Very cute display of Christmas lights to brighten up the holiday season. It’s a 1/2 mile easy loop on a paved pathway that is one way in direction. Plenty of parking and it wasn’t too crowded tonight and it’s FREE to the public, although donations are accepted.

I've driven past this park a thousand times on my way to the post office, but never really noticed. When Darian and I went searching for "parks near me", this popped up and off to it we went. Ballparks, walking trails, ponds...I also discovered that my nephew knows what's cool, because he pointed out to me a bird (crane, maybe?) that appeared to be strolling along in the water. Turns out that, either the water was shallower than it looked, or that bird had very long legs. 😄 Either way, it was a great day.

Ive always seen this park especially during the winter when driving past it and wonders how to enter since during the winter they had a beautiful light show. We finally found it and we were very impressed. The lights are absolutely gorgeous with a mile walk you see a variety of lights. They have a coy fish pond as well.

Fun and very challenging disc golf course. 9 holes and goes quick so it's great for a 35 minute solo round or just over an hour for 2x.

I may be biased, but I love this park. The layout, amenities, and paths line the river. With just the perfect amount of tree coverage, this is a great spot for laying out a blanket, playing tennis or volleyball, riding, walking, running, or anything. There is enough space for everyone to do their own thing. Across the river, a track and turf field welcome any and all in need of a running surface or soccer pitch. It covers all bases, and I gotta say, it rules.

Great park along the Chicago River with a field house, pool, bike path, soccer field, track, boat launch (for kayaks and canoes). Good spots for fishing, as well.

  • 4/5 Paul G. 5 years ago on Google
Very clean park. Good for joggers, walking, and other outside activities. Fishing could be better but they just redeveloped the riverside.

  • 4/5 Jebrone K. 3 years ago on Google
This park feels like there's alot of under utilized space. They do have great tennis courts and an awesome baseball field. Parking seems to be fantastic and it has accessible bike racks and a divvy station. I don't think there is anyone taking care of the park though. It looks un-maintained. There's leaves all over the place and downed branches. But it looks like they're looking for the budget to really build things. I hope they do it soon!

This park is so luscious...green and vibrant! The trail enhances the topography of the land it sits on. It's nice to take in the rushing water off the North Shore Channel. It's very well laid out. Just gorgeous.

I am so disappointed in your Aquatics Department. Saturday was my best day to take classes, but now none are available on Saturday. Then I saw that an afternoon class had been added during the week, so I thought that would work out. When I came today, NO CLASS!! The 3 people at the desk could not have cared any less. The one woman actually shrugged and said,” Oh well,” in a sarcastic tone. They said the schedule had been updated to reflect the change. Not true!! It still lists a Friday 1:30 class. Both your scheduling and lack of professional customer service are disappointing. I see no reason to continue my membership.

Fun park with great space and many different things to do. The park district rec center includes an outside soccer field, playground, outdoor as well as indoor basketball courts, gym and weight lifting equipment, a pool, and more. Be sure to check out this place if you are in the area.
