The island is breathtakingly beautiful. We took a boat ride from Desenzano to the island and had the guided tour. The tour guide was super nice and gave a really interesting insight into both the history and the architecture of the island and the villa. It's hard to believe that the island used to be a pile of rocks and that all the soil for the plants was brought there by hand. We could only visit two rooms inside the villa, an old office and a dining room, but those were beautiful. Also, the stairway up to the toilets alone is an experience. The gardens surrounding the villa were a treat as well.

We took a boat from Sirmione (about 30 min). The guided tours were in Italian, English, and German. The tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable! We were shown the gardens and two rooms in the house, and we had some snacks on the terrace. We had a little time at the end, so we were allowed to walk freely around the park portion of the estate. We were on the island for about 2 or 2.5 hours. Definitely worth seeing!

If you were to Garda lake, but did not see this place you've to come back and do this. Otherwise you've missed the best part! P.S. Many thanks to Alberta Cavazza for the great and personal tour!

What a nice island it is! It is privately owned and it is a residence so you can only go with a tour. But the tour is really worth what you pay for it. We had an excellent guide (Maximiliano) and he could tell us about the history of the island and the family and left enough time to stroll around on our own. In total I think the tour lasted 3 hours and we had a little olive oil tasting and a glass of wine.

One of the best spots in one of the best places in the world! What can I say, just come here for a visit and you will be amazed by the flowers of the hanging gardens, by the multitude of historical facts which happened in this paradise and by the enchanting wiews you can enjoy only here, in the middle of the lake. On the guestbook many write that their visit here is definitely the highlight of their holiday and I can very well see why.

It is worth visiting this wonderful place. It already offers stunning views from the boat. Entering the island as if we were in a green oasis. The rooms inside the villa are stunning and the outside is a real masterpiece. It was a very nice surprise for the little food and drink , the fine wine and the divine olive oil. Exploring the garden would be worth just a day. Walking between special plants, palms, agave and hundreds of years old olive trees, you will feel like you are in paradise. Whoever can do discover this wonderful place.

Trip today started in a swish passenger motorboat that whisked us from Garda to the Island in 20 minutes. There was an English speaking guide and a German speaking guide waiting for our party. We toured the English Garden and then the Italian garden while our guide told us the history of the island, the villa and the families that have owned it. We saw several rooms inside the villa and then we were served white wine, juice or water plus snacks on the terrace before we had a chance to walk around the small park. I bought a lovely silk scarf as a memento - just be warned that the souvenirs are tasteful and quite expensive. They grow a lot of their own fruits on the island and you can buy their olive oil. The owners are a large family running several local businesses. Tourists help them.maintain the villa and the island. The trip was around two and a half hours, a really lovely way to spend a morning or afternoon on Garda. Highly recommended. Travellers with mobility issues please note that there are 2 external flights of stone stairs to climb and one internal staircase.

The island is beautiful and picturesque. The guided tour was interesting but felt a little bit hectic. The English and Italian tour are organised back to back so the guests rarely had anytime to enjoy the scenery peacefully without a lot of people roaming around. The tour provided juice, wine and olive oil tasting. Afterward the guests were allowed a few minutes to check out the park which has nothing much interesting to see, before rushing for the boat. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable.

Lovely private tour in English by a very well spoken young chap. Beautiful gardens surrounding a super house with lots of history. Super views over lake Garda. A great tour with transfers included, well worth it.

This was one of the highlights of my time in the Lake Garda. The island is gorgeous with its lush vegetation, gorgeous flowers, and the magnificent villa. It would be worth visiting just for the wonderful views and scents, but the interesting information provided by the guide made it even more enjoyable. It was the first tour for our guide, but he did excellent job introducting the island's history under various owners, the way the island has developed, the plants in the gardens, and the items inside the villa. Isola del Garda is definitely worth a visit!

Beautiful place to hold an event with multiple venues and amazing views and service.

The island is truly beautiful. The house exterior is a masterpiece of different architectural styles, and the surrounding manicured gardens are stunning. The rest of the island is a nature garden, which is beautiful to walk through, especially if you make it to the tip of the island, where you'll be rewarded with some spectacular views! You need to book a guided tour in advance (this is essential), which shows the manicured gardens, a few rooms inside, and gives a history of the island – but felt too slow and got boring quite quickly. The price includes a glass of local wine, and a boat which collects you from the mainland.

Wow, An amazing place for a wedding My son got married here. The trip to the place was on a speed boat by the grooms men and the bride came separately on her special speed boat. Wedding guests arrived on two big boats. The venue was beautiful inside and out. The wedding ceremony and the entertainment before and after the wedding was amazing. The staff were friendly and quiet helpful. This place is highly recommended.

We had a marvellous tour around the house and gardens, Livia our guide is actually one of the family that own the property so as she grew up on island it gave the tour a very personal touch. A beautiful place with a fascinating history.

The island took my breath away! We arrived on this private island on a boat that departed from Porto di Desenzano. The boat trip took 45 mins and it was a treat in itself. We sat and watched the water lap against the boat as we gazed onto the Lago. Once we arrived, we were given a tour by a knowledgeable and sweet guide who told us about the impressive history of the island. At the end, there was some time to rest on the terrace, enjoy some local wine and look at the view of the lake. Strolling in the gardens was a treat but sadly we only had 20 mins to do so. I wish we had more time. The whole time experience was about 3.5 hours long and it takes a spot on the highlight reel of our trip to Lago di Garda.

I would definitely recommend visiting the island when you are around the lake. It is only possible to visit with a guided tour. If you want to come, you have to buy tickets online, because it's very popular. You will go to the island by boat obviously and then you will be divided in 3 groups, English, Italian and German. We had Livia Cavazza for the English tour, as the name tells she is a member of the Cavazza family that owns the island. She told us a lot and some parts of the house and of course the beautiful gardens were shown to us. You'll also get a drink and have some free time on the island. It's a very beautiful and serene place!
