Trip
today
started
in
a
swish
passenger
motorboat
that
whisked
us
from
Garda
to
the
Island
in
20
minutes.
There
was
an
English
speaking
guide
and
a
German
speaking
guide
waiting
for
our
party.
We
toured
the
English
Garden
and
then
the
Italian
garden
while
our
guide
told
us
the
history
of
the
island,
the
villa
and
the
families
that
have
owned
it.
We
saw
several
rooms
inside
the
villa
and
then
we
were
served
white
wine,
juice
or
water
plus
snacks
on
the
terrace
before
we
had
a
chance
to
walk
around
the
small
park.
I
bought
a
lovely
silk
scarf
as
a
memento
-
just
be
warned
that
the
souvenirs
are
tasteful
and
quite
expensive.
They
grow
a
lot
of
their
own
fruits
on
the
island
and
you
can
buy
their
olive
oil.
The
owners
are
a
large
family
running
several
local
businesses.
Tourists
help
them.maintain
the
villa
and
the
island.
The
trip
was
around
two
and
a
half
hours,
a
really
lovely
way
to
spend
a
morning
or
afternoon
on
Garda.
Highly
recommended.
Travellers
with
mobility
issues
please
note
that
there
are
2
external
flights
of
stone
stairs
to
climb
and
one
internal
staircase.
