Beautiful park with an amazing ocean view. Not crowded on a Saturday. The park is well taken care of, clean with enough grills and tables.

Excellent place to catch the sunset. Bring a blanket and some snacks from Trader Joe’s down the hill.

This park has one of the most beautiful views you could ask for. The children's playground has a variety of equipment for kids of all ages, and the swings are placed perfectly so you can look at the ocean while pushing your child. There is a paved walking path around the baseball field,benches sporadically spread out around the path, and a couple of staircases leading down to the playground. Parking is free and plentiful. Be mindful that some spaces are a little tight and may be hard to get into based on your vehicle. There are bathrooms and even a small box to take a book/leave a book. There only drawback is there are snakes, but I haven't seen one. It's a lovely park!

Very well maintained and multi-function lovely park with a breathtaking ocean view of Catalina island. In a typical weekday afternoon, you can see mothers with little kids in several different playgrounds, retired people walking in the trails or chatting in the picnic areas, and young people jogging, studying or just napping in the shades.

Not crowd compares to Ryan Park. Not much amenities but the view is to kill for. There is a small kiddie area for young toddlers. There is a classroom area for classes before COVID. Not sure if they are offering any right now. There is Romeo n Juliet on 10th July at 7 PM. Nothing significant changed. But I noticed that the lower part is so much nicer after some maintenance. not as "abandoned" feel as before.

Dropping my rating to a 3 as I showed up today to find all the wildlife area being completely mowed down. Everything was lush and green, in full bloom... supposed to rain tomorrow... terrible imo. I understand cutting fire breaks if that's the issue, but all of it?

Very nice and quiet park looking over the ocean in Palos Verdes adjacent to Los Angeles. Sunrise to sundown are the hours. I’ll bet the sunsets are worth the fees (no charge). Anyway enjoy this hidden gem when you feel like picking up sushi and get inspired. Not that too hard, at least was for me. This is a present, don’t forget to reciprocate.

We visited the newer part of this park; called Lower Hesse. It smartly showcases drought resistant landscaping. You can find California sage plants and other native brushes here. The bees had a feast on this sunny day. Lower Hesse also features a stream with a bridge over it. Seating is plenty all around. Picnic tables benches are strategically placed; ocean views are abundant.

Very nice place to walk or have a picnic. It is wide, with ample view of Pacific Ocean. It also has playgrounds for children.

It has a great view and a lot of space for big events. It's very family friendly and also has a lot of space for dogs and kids to play.

Such a nice park. Everything about this park is nice, even the parking lot is beautiful. Flat paved walking paths as well as dirt hiking trails on the hill. Baseball diamond, large green field surrounded by trees for shady area to sit. Children's play area. Community center. All overlooking the ocean. What more do you need?!

I recently (11/18/23) had an event at Hesse Park - McTaggart Hall and I must say, from the time I inquired about renting the space, to the end of the event, the entire staff was VERY professional, courteous, pleasant, and helpful!!! Customer service at it's BEST!
