This must be one of the most imposing pubs in London, so much so that I wondered from the outside if it was a private members’ club or grand hotel. Once inside the welcome is friendly and the interior is beautiful. I’m not a fan of McMullen ales but there are plenty of other options. Lovely seating areas both downstairs and on the balcony. And to top it all they have a Routemaster bus on the rear terrace! A must-see pub if you’re visiting the Royal Courts of Justice or studying the history of the Knights Templar.

One day I walked pass by the Old Bank of England and was amazed by its classic interior. I decided to pay a visit just for the atmosphere. The food was average as expected, drink was good and fairly priced for the location. However, the service was a big disappointment throughout the visit. The interior was as charming as I had first seen it to be. But the noisy vibe was not I expected before I entered.

Stylish and elegant bar in the heart of London. Very few pubs are to boast a decor as magnificent as this one. Even has a London bus in its back garden for a private beer. The only downside is the service and food. Service is very basic and the food is over priced and not particularly impressive given how much it costs.

A mostly good restoration of a historic city venue next to the Law Courts. However food is extremely average (service is good and efficient) and certainly not at the level of Fuller's pubs (for example)- which also occupy interesting properties. We had an extremely poor fish and chips (with more batter than fish) and sub-standard Pie, pathetic salad and very bland tomato soup. I don't expect to be comparing against wetherspoons food. I expect top quality classic pub food from such a venue and prices.

Nostalgia blooms in this restaurant. The separated rooms are cozy and make for a nice experience. The photos on the wall show the building in its glory along with the unique architecture worth seeing. The food was excellent, and the service was both friendly and attentive.

Incredibly cool bar, that's 100% worth checking out if you're in the area! Have an amazing outdoor bar area with a double decker bus and a swing. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and they have a good selection of beer and cider on tap.

Amazing history. Great food. Great vibe. Highly recommended. It can get pretty busy and difficult to get tables so reservations are recommended. Super friendly people and they’re pet friendly. Do check out if you are in the area.

Brilliant pub! Never would have found it, we're it not for a friend who recommended it. Amazing location with outstanding high ceilings. As one of the most iconic historical buildings in central London, it is an impressive locale. The service could use a bit of quickening, as with other pubs, and some of the drinks are watered down, but as an overall experience, I would highly recommend it. Just stick to the draft drinks.

One of my favourite pub in London. Historic building with wonderful decor, there is a real bus sit in garden. Amazing atmosphere here. Yes, expensive : a pint of beer £6.85 but worth it.

So glad to see it's open again. Lovely pub with nice friendly staff. It has a wide selection of beers, spirits, wine and cocktails. Food was great too. Definitely recommend paying it a visit

If you’re looking for delicious food and pints in a super unique atmosphere (converted from the former Bank of England's Law Courts) then definitely add this awesome pub to your London to-visit list. The team is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar are beautiful. We were visiting London in the summer. This was the perfect place to cool down inside with delicious drinks.

Atmosphere is England all the way. The old Bank of England still exists with subtle objects that belong in a bank. Fish and chips and beer are all you need. Music is terrific and helpful. Great to hangout with friends and family.

This is definitely a pub to stop by at if in the area. We had a few pints and fish and chips - both were excellent. The main feature here is the building, exquisite detailing inside. Also in the back there a whole double decker bus! Awesome. I would recommend a visit here! I took many photos - see attached!

Terrific place in good tourist location near temple church, with plenty of seating including an upstairs area and garden with red London double decker bus. Lots of beers, wines and spirits on offer with very good food and excellent service. Would definitely return when next in the city.

Nice place, great architecture and atmosphere. Food and menu were average. They have kids menu as well. We ordered burgers for the kids, fish and chips and 3 meat pie plate (they were flavorful). I would still recommend for people to check it out.

An architectural masterpiece. It’s a beautiful pub and the Guinness isn’t half bad. Definitely worth popping in to enjoy the ambience and architecture.

We had a lovely meal, well priced with great beer and very friendly service in an incredible building full of history and charm. Like a museum. Great spot. Enjoy!

A wonderful building! Definitely worth appreciating. The food was good, the view from the balcony was great. Go outside in the backyard and see the old bus!

Great, atmospheric pub by the Royal Courts of Justice. Stunning interiors and a cracking beer garden with a customised red bus. A must-see for tourists.

Beautiful place, inside and out, from the front you wouldn't know there was a double decker bus in their courtyard! We had a few drinks and tucked into their famous pie and veg all worth a visit - go book now!

Very cool bar. When we went it was particularly busy so we actually didn’t have a drink but is a very impressive place. The bus out the bank is very cool and I can imagine on a sunny day the perfect place for a fun few drinks with friends

Great pub, the location is very nice. The food was good, I had a set of 3 pies and a pressed pork. The beers were good as well. The dessert was great (caramel chees cake). The service could be better. In the bill there was a 5% for the service

Had a Christmas meal here and it was pretty good but not great. Service was good though. As a pub it's very popular and busy but has a great traditional boozer atmosphere. The interior is stunning. Definitely one to visit at least once.

An amazing place to have a couple of beers. Unfortunately the good wasn’t that good. So my advice is to have some different beers there. We can recommend some his place!

We stopped in for a cold pint and was not disappointed. Great Cask on tap that hit the spot. So much to look at inside the Pub. A well done re-vamp of the old Bank.

  • 3/5 Bradley W. 7 months ago on Google
Great interior design and features. Following the theme of the bank which it previously was. Old meets modern furniture with a welcome feel. Food was okay but very chain pub. Shame about the beer, good selection but was let down by the quality.. definitely worth popping in for one though just for the decor alone. Fast friendly service.

Fantastic pub, stunning setting for a pub. The bus outside in the beer garden is excellent. The food was excellent and so were the staff. Shame I can't visit again sooner.

Great pub in a really nice old building. Highly recommended. I had a pie tasting platter, which was a good introduction to some proper pies.

Amazing grand decor, a former bank. Tables can be booked. Delicious homemade pies on the menu. Good veggie options. Really cute garden area with a bus bar! Can’t wait to come back.

Cutest pub - has been on my list for aaages. It's so quirky and welcoming. I loved every minute of it. The food was very tasty and the mains' portions are very very generous. We only had nibbles but everything was tasty and reasonably priced.

Amazing place, fabulous decor. Good food at really decent price. You can book a table, but do not expect a restaurant treatment. Is still a pub style service

Decent food and considering the surroundings area, it was a decent price. Great building and beer garden, too. I would recommend it as a more affordable option compared to the surroundings pubs and restaurants.

Venue is just beautiful but it cant be said about the food. It is quite bland. I have ordered turkey roast off the festive menu and the turkey was quite dry but most importantly stuffing was so hard it was impossible to cut it. It’s not bad but for £35 I would expect a little more. Also I have asked for lemonade and double checked if it’s proper lemonade or just sprite (or equivalent) and was informed that it is indeed a lemonade. I was served a pint of sprite-like drink which was quite underwhelming.

Great building with amazing interior. Fun place to have a drink. We went on a Friday so would have been better if we booked a seat in advance but we still found a spot to sit outside in the back in an old transformed red bus with tables. It was a great experience and the service was good.

Wonderfully lively place. Great architecture, seating and drinks too! Huge place with such history steeped in. Art plastered all over and adorned with lovely chandeliers. Lovely green decor in the bathrooms.

Great pub, good options for drinks and food, and the perfect spot on Fleet Street. Beautiful architecture, artful design and decorating, and good service. Got here at 5:30pm and it was definitely an after-work spot with folks in blazers, suits, dresses, and the like. That said, come dressed in a collared shirt or something nicer than a t-shirt and you'll feel just fine. Loved it, will definitely be back!

We had a private event here and the staff were incredible. Natasha & Colin especially made sure every detail was taken care of so our team could relax and enjoy ourselves. It's a beautiful venue with delicious food - you cannot go wrong with this location.

Friendly staff. Yummy food. Nice cask ales. Beautiful venue with unexpectedly fun sites. Try the meat pie.

A true historical moment. Loved it. The atmosphere inside or outside is a real pleasure and change. It pushes you across time and you can almost see a banker with his gold bag walking across (after few drinks) A shame that it is closing early, even on Saturday and food is stopped to be served at 7pm. Otherwise, go for it, it's a must do.

Absolutely stunning pub in central London (Fleet Street, The City of London). It features an old London bus in its garden/courtyard, which is very stylish and can be entered. The indoor dining hall is grand and glamorous with extra high ceilings, an upper area providing beautiful vistas on the below main bar and seating areas. One of my favorite pubs in London.

Great looking pub. Has a pretty good selection of beers, including a line of local cask ales. Food is excellent, especially recommend the pies.
