So disappointed after reading good reviews and wanted to come here as we live locally. The service was really bad. The restaurant was empty but we had to wait almost 10 mins to be seated. After we got the food the staffs never checked on us if we want anything else. Food tastes good but crispy pork was too dry and hard like it’d been reheated many times. Additional info about service: We didn’t have a reservation on that day and understand if they don’t take walk in customer. There were 2 tables of customers inside the restaurant so there were space for us. But We were waiting for awhile to be seated, not few minutes, I was thinking about to leave actually. The staff wasn’t nice at all, barely conversation with us. He forgot one of our drink, we had to asked again. I asked for tap water, he gave me only 1/4 glass and never asked us if we wanted anything else or everything was fine. We had to asked twice for a box to takeaway our left over food as they all disappeared after we asked for the 1st time. Hope this was not your standard service

I recommend Paladar for their delicious, well presented (authentic) South American fusion food coupled with delicious and unique cocktails with a twist. The atmosphere was vibrant and takes you out of London with latin music playing in the background set amongst beautiful art work, touches of nature and latin inspired decor. The service was also friendly, efficient and the staff were knowledgeable on the dishes they offered are were able to make good recommendations to us. Finally the price of the food was very reasonable. I will definitely be visiting here again as I would also like to try them out when they have live music at the restaurant.

Nice Latin American food. The dishes are on the small side so I'd recommend 2 starters and 1 main per person (at least). The best dish by far were the pork belly tacos. Absolutely delicious. The octopus was also good but the portion was way too small (specially for the price). I also really liked the churros.

This was a nice surprise and a change from the typical food we have in the UK. The plates are small and meant to be like tapas to share. We tried the tuna and the pork belly and both were delicious. The staff very nice and the restaurant is busy but cute.

Pro: 1. High quality food. The dishes are carefully made to bring your sensorial taste to another level. 2. Cozy atmosphere with great selection of Latin music. 3. Great cocktails and sweet options, delicious! 4. Chef tasting option menu (£88 per person and needs to be told in advance). Cons: 1. The place is relatively small so booking is a must, specially during the weekend. 2. Not a really fun of a £20 holding deposit per person for booking. 3. The portions!! This is a point that brings my review to 3 stars. How is it possible that after spending £120 for starters, two main, one side and two desserts you still feel hungry? Don't get me wrong, you will have really good food, but if you are looking for a place that will fulfill you properly, either you spend more than I did or go somewhere else. By the time I went back home, I was feeling hungry again.

Portions are on the smaller size, order a few things or it won’t be enough food. Food was good but not outstanding. Wine selection is nice. Ambiance is great. Hospitality is top notch. You’ll be warmly welcomed here.

Was very looking forward to seating in Paladar’s backyard after reading some food reviews - disappointedly the backyard turned out to be too loud to talk to my friends (super loud music +other tables over talking). The dishes are quite creative and all have nice presentation in cute plates. The ingredients they have used are pretty good (from the seafood dishes) but none of the 6 dishes we ordered we thought ‘wow’. Pork Belly Taco was the interesting and tasty one. Cocktails were about 10£ each. Asked for a recommendation for a sweet cocktail, turned out the one made with rum+honey+lime was overly sweet. Party Size: 4 Food: 6 dishes (no sides) Drinks: 2 cocktails + 1 virgin cocktail + 1 wine Price: £120

Wow! Definitely a hidden gem, from entering to leaving the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff is exceptional and not overbearing. The lupita cocktail is the best cocktail I've had. The dishes delicious and beautifully presented. Well worth a visit if your in the area

Really delicious food with super friendly staff and service. The food as they say is creative and refreshing with the use of Central and South American flavours and ingredients which was great to experience and broaden my pallet with. I agree that some dishes, the price to portion size should be better, especially if it's for sharing (mainly on the 'Sea' and 'Land' dishes). The star dish for me was the 'Grilled chimichurri prawns' which I could have eaten two plates of by myself. The combination of the fried plantain, sour cream and salsa was beyond delicious. The second dish I would highly recommend is 'Purple corn churros', I actually much prefer these to normal churros'. The purple corn gives them a delicious maltiness and with the coffee dulce de leche, it's a knockout dessert. A fantastic restaurant if you're looking for something different from the standard Mexican restaurants in London and a different range of fresh and tasty flavours. However, I would say this would be a treat meal, and a '£££' restaurant rather than a '££' based on price per head including drinks.

Cracking food and ambience. My biggest regret has been not discovering this local hidden gem earlier. Everything I consumed was delicious, especially the purple corn churros. A good selection of veggie options too. And if you like a mezcal cocktail, you can’t go wrong here. Good queer-friendly vibe too. Much classier than many if the other Latin restaurants in Elephant. Highly recommended!

Guys, here is one of the best experience we had so far, and not talking only about food, because we enjoyed every single minutes we spent there. The staff was wonderful, the atmosphere fantastic, the art so great to see, the music cool ! I cannot emphasise enough how much I recommend this place Such a vibrant Latin American restaurant in the heart of East London. The food is creative and totally gluten-free plus the cocktails (and mocktails) are inspired by the ingredients and flavours of Central and South America. We tasted the weekday set menu Tapioca and cheese croquettes, guava and balsamic reduction (V) 💚💚 Crispy pork belly, arepa, guacamole, agave sriracha chilli sauce reduction💚💚💚 Shredded chicken, criollo-corn empanadas, serrano chilli salsa 💚 Seared prawns, Colombian Pacific coast salsa, plantain toston, suero costeño💚💚💚 Roast aubergine, fried beans with salsa negra, Maya hummus (V)💚 Green herb rice Cassava chips & chipotle mayo💚💚💚 Purple corn churros, coffee dulce de leche & chilli chocolate sauce💚💚💚

Was a great dinner! Seems to fill up with reservations easily, but managed to get a table! It is a style of eating where you order about 2-3 dishes a person, but was delicious, and we asked our server to order whatever was great for us and we loved how that worked out! Would recommend!

You might pass it by without a second glance. But that would be a mistake. This is a lovely place with attentive staff and a menu that is out of the ordinary. Interesting vegetarian choices, nice selection of Latin dishes served to be shared. We really liked the tuna tostadas and the mole with the chicken skewers was divine. And let's not forget the pisco cocktails! The one dish I would advise against was the steak with arepas. It is just far too expensive for what it is.

Outstanding, wonderful, magnificent, none of these words and even all of them together do justice to the great dining experience I experimented yesterday in this magnificent restaurant. No doubt it is the hidden treasure in Elephant & Castle. We took the testing menu, and I couldn't tell which dish was the favourite. Each one of them was a perfect combination of creativity and originality in taste, colours and textures. And that's not to mention the delicious and well-chosen wines that accompanied each course. Have you heard about the bliss point? Without a doubt, Chef Jose Guevara has achieved it in each one of the proposals that make up his menu. The staff super loving and attentive, and the atmosphere incredibly cosy and vibrant. I am planning to celebrate my next social events in this magnificent restaurant and recommend it to everyone I know. THANKS for such incredible evening!

Our group of 8 sampled the taster menu. The dishes were well presented and served promptly for each guest, but overall weren't blown away by the quality considering the high average rating for this restaurant. The servers and sommelier were friendly and attentive throughout.

Really nice restaurant, friendly staff, and great selection of drinks and great food for any taste palette, a bit pricey but you get why when you try the food, Squid and Chicken as mains was my favourites, interesting croquettes, and very nice espresso martini! We had the chance To try more liqueur style of drinks. The selection is huge :)

Flavour sensation and trendy vibe. The prawn dish was lovely and go a green dish and try the lettuce. Service a little abrupt. Awesome wine list. Not very happy that they brought an extra sparkling water and poured without asking and then charged us.

I love Paladar :) I first visited in the early days of lockdown because I saw they had drinks available for takeaway. The staff were so warm and friendly it convinced us to come back for food (and the menu sounded incredible!) We booked for dinner a week in advance and had zero problems with the booking. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and seated straight away. The staff were really nice, keeping our water topped up, asking if we wanted more drinks etc. The perfect amount of attentive :) The decor is really cool! I love the eclectic paintings and the music. Gives a nice, buzzy vibe without being overpowering. And of course the food is superb. Between two of us we had 7 dishes and two desserts. Everything was incredibly fresh and flavoursome, and the presentation is beautiful. We left full and happy :) the drinks selection is also excellent; I had a Pilsener and my friend got a glass of wine. Next time we'll try the cocktails; they looked delicious! For how good the service and food is I feel we paid a very fair price. We're looking forward to returning!

The best not-fully-discovered yet restaurant in London. It’s bustling and well liked, but it should be infamous and impossible to get seats. The great thing is it’s not. Fantastic food, fantastic service at reasonable prices. My wife and I have been going for birthdays, Valentine’s, Mother’s Days, anniversaries for 6 years. Never ever declines in quality. I hope this restaurant is here til I die. It’s the only restaurant we ever recommend. And it’s the only one we need to.

A lovely Latin restaurant serving a medley of different Latin dishes and executing them well. My favorites were the plantain crisps and the grilled lamb cutlets and chicken. The were meat dishes were cooked to perfection and every dish had a delicious sauce which complemented the main dishes super well. When the place is making fresh, spicy guacamole where you can taste every ingredient, you're onto a winner. Only reservations I have are that even for central London, the prices are very steep. For these prices I would expect to be wowed rather than just content/happy with my meal. The drinks we ordered were top notch however. The daiquiri in particular was delicious

We recently tried this place because we heard so much about it. The food was fantastic. It offers a variety of latin american dishes, and the dishes we had were super delicious. Very friendly staff and service and cosy restaurant. The wine list is extensive and offers wines from exotic locations such as Peru and Uruguay. Highly recommend it. Book in advance, otherwise it's a busy spot.

An absolutely wonderful lunch today at Paladar. Took my Mum here for her birthday treat and we weren’t disappointed at all. Mainly because the menu is ALL GF we jumped at it being coeliacs. Wonderful knowledgeable staff with amazing service. Started off with some cocktails the cucumber piquini was so refreshing and tasty! Accompanied by some tostadas which were so fresh and delicious! We will most certainly be back for another visit thanks again!!!!

I have been here three times over the span of three years and it was amazing every time. We had all the vegan dishes and they all were great. Absolutely fantastic was the aubergine with the bean mole - even if you are not vegan, you need to try it. Already looking forward to my next visit.

Absolutely loved this place! 🤤 Our waiters were dead sound and advised us when we were ordering too much (we went at a time when they were serving shared plates). There’s great variety on the menu and their cocktails are very well done - definitely recommend trying the Bramble. The pulled pork was a highlight as well. Would happily go back to try the rest of the menu, and totally recommend!

This is a small London restaurant offering South American food. This is up market SA food and it is delicious. We had the Seabass fillet baked with peanuts and prawns in a tomato style curry. It was superb. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Couldn't find any fault.

  • 4/5 Rodrigo R. 1 year ago on Google
Paladar offers a fusion cuisine bringing representative dishes from Latin America with a modern twist and a friendly and attentive staff. As someone from the region, I was generally pleased with the flavours. They dared to be spicy enough where necessary. A minus would be that the dishes are not all consistently qualitatively good, and the portions err on the smaller side. The place gets crowded; book a week in advance

  • 5/5 Christopher T. 1 year ago on Google
Wow. Who needs gluten if you can make food like this without it. Fantastic tasting menu. Choosing a favorite dish was tough because all were so good. Excellent drinks menu too with plenty of great tequila and rum to whet the palate. We visited as part of a birthday lunch and sat in the private side room. Service was fantastic. We would definitely return after this experience.

Amazing place. We had a celebration dinner here and wanted a Gluten Free choice, and were already so excited to find a place with no issues to worry about, but the food was truly top notch and well presented. Great wine list too, which I hope to explore more in future. Highly recommended

Non-coeliac customer review: I was amazed by how flavoursome, exciting and filling the portions and plates were. From the appetiser to the desert it was a feast and we could have stayed there forever. The 2hrs booking slot was more than enough for the 2 of us and although we are both dairy-free, our eyes kept on leering at dishes we were not able to order but landed on our neighbours table. 10/10 experience! Coeliac customer review: It was delicious! The food was full of flavours and 100% adapted for my condition, it was incredible. Highly recommended for coeliac and regular foodies. You can indulge and enjoy without worrying...what else could you ask for ❤️ It was a joy to find sophisticated cuisine that is 100% gluten free. The chef did a great job and so did the floor staff. PALADAR can wear its name with pride, a heaven for the "paladar" ;)

I hosted my birthday at Paladar’s new private room and was very well looked after. The private dining room has amazing decoration and is very intimate for a group of friends. We were very well looked after by the team who helped us with everything including the set up and the take down. Not to mention the food which all my guests said was amazing. The booking process was really easy and Charles the owner was lovely, responsive and accommodating - you could tell he wanted us to have an amazing time. Thank you Paladar!

A beautiful restaurant full of beautiful food. The reason that it not 5 stars is that plantain chips are very salty and I think some of the plates are not value for money, but everything is else is positive. The place is decorated with stunning art pieces, the staff are friendly and attentive. It is advised to have 5-6 plates for 2 people. My personal favourite plate is the Tuna Tostadas.

Love this place! The food is delicious - my favourites this time were the tuna guacamole tacos and charred lettuce with almond pesto. We've been told that the menu changes 3 times a year so everything is seasonal. Cosy atmosphere, Latin music, friendly staff who makes you feel very welcome and comfortable. They also support local artists by displaying their artwork which you can buy. Oh, not to forget the bartender who makes delicious pisco sours! :) Overall great experience, thank you!

Food was pretty and good wine list was extensive and interesting. Service was pretty off on the night server was all over the place, we had a 30 minute delay for our table and then an awkward end to the meal with a failure to fulfil a pretty simple birthday request. It is probably down to the lockdown issues atm and i wouldn't want to be too disparaging as some of the dishes were really good but considering it was about 60 quid a head for 6 of us wasn't great value with service taken into account.

Been meaning to try this local place so met a friend here for lunch few weeks ago. We ordered the lunch menu which was a very good deal. These dishes had really surprised me. They were very tasty. Loved the churros and was certainly surprised that they’re made from purple corn, didn’t know they existed. The waitress was very friendly and informative and that’s how l found out that the restaurant is ‘gluten’ free so super good for me! The only thing l didn’t quite enjoy was the arepes that I thought was quite hard. I would definitely return and highly recommend this place.

Third or fourth time back here, never fails to impress, we were lucky to sit in the Bodega today so could see the Chefs cooking, the food is delicious, great portions, it's just so difficult not to order everything, you must have the plantain chips and guacamole. So, as well as great food, the staff match it, great, friendly staff would always make me return to a restaurant, so I'll see you soon, thank you x

We've been here before for the Chef's table and today we were back for a delightful lunch - one of the most enjoyable ones since the pandemic. The staff here are always so friendly and helpful. And the food is just amazing and full of flavours - both the meat dishes and the vegetable dishes. Our all time favourite is the crispy pork belly tacos - the skin is crispy while the fat layer is sticky - just the perfect combo. We enjoyed it so much we didn't think of taking a photo before it was all gone.

I was surprised by how flavorful and plentiful the dishes were here. The pork belly tacos came stuffed and the pork was so crispy, juicy and delicious. I wish their pisco sour was bigger because I could 4 of those, and they were pricey. Really worth it though and highly recommend.

What a gem find this is, not to be missed if you are in the area. There are few other places offering food this high quality. Lovely place with a beautiful garden outside the back. (Translated by Google) Warm people, great food Thanks to the Tripadvisor community, we chose this restaurant for Saturday night. Reservations are very drastic and fines do not apply to shows, but for a small space this is ok. The waiter helped us a lot with our starter selection and the main course was great. Tried Cuban Pork and Octopus and is great. The collection of wines from South American wineries was impressive and excellent value for money. It is worth trying if you are a food lover. Very kind and warm service. Stumbled upon this little gem while looking for a bite to eat in the area. Ordered shrimp to start, accompanied by chicken skewers - superb! Best Latin Restaurant in London I cannot recommend enough Paladar. This restaurant has raised Latin food to the level of the major league. The most amazing combination of flavors that will become a feast in your palette. The signature cocktail Lupita is a joy not to be missed. The staff are very friendly and attentive, which makes you feel welcome and warm. Paladar is a cuisine - a Latin experience not to be missed Excellent So happy we found this place while visiting London. The menu is small, but every offer is tempting. We dined two nights in a row to try as many dishes as possible. Everything was delicious. Excellent wine list. Great atmosphere. Loved the staff and our dining experience. Very satisfied and happy This restaurant was 5 stars and was suggested to us by Trip Advisor, so we trusted it and went to try it in person. From the outside, this place looked like a regular pub, so we really didn't expect what it actually turned out to be. The staff are very friendly, always smiling and very nice with every guest, so he scored a lot for this. But now the important question is: food. Well it felt like a piece of heaven melting in our mouth even if and when we didn't know what we were eating since we first tasted South American / Latin cuisine. The prices were a little high, but I think it was worth it and it is something that you can afford from time to time as a treat.

Wow what a lunch menu. Loved everything we chose, could not fault a thing! Lovely staff too. Will definitely be back! Edit: Returned with friends for dinner to celebrate an engagement and was blown away again by the food and service. The staff were so lovely and really treated us. All the food was great but highlights included the tuna, aubergine, rice (surprisingly!) and pulled pork special. The tempranillo wine was fantastic too. What a gem of a place, thank you for making our evening so special!

Very disappointed. Ordered Negroni and received Mezcaloni for 14£ a cocktail. Squid had no squid in it, just deep fried butter with sliced onions and chili on top. Arepas that have been served with chorizo were very dry. Slow service on top of all of that. Left the restaurant completely dissatisfied, would not recommend.

Ambience is perfect. Prices are little heavy to the quantity and quality they provide.

The food is nice, not outstanding... I did get to try a few new flavours but I felt the mango ceviche lacked a zing that could have made it better. Great presentation of food. Downstairs seating area not as exciting as upstairs.

Very good food! The aubergine dish together with all of its components is absolutely delicious. Similarly the grilled lettuce is so good, especially the sauce that is served with it. I first gave five stars since I had no any complaints. But then later on there came this another waitress, dark haired hectic lady, who was almost rude when I wished to see more vegan options in the menu. The other waiter who took my order earlier, man with very nice long hair, was friendly and polite.

Pretty solid execution for every dish. Chicken oyster with bone marrow was super good, otherwise nothing mind blowing. Good service.
